When we asked the lady about her character, Supriya quickly replied "I am playing Mamta Thakur, a doting mother of five daughters. Mamta's character is different from what I have been playing in the past five years. She reacts to things very differently. The situations which come her way, she tackles those in a unique way. As an actor, I have chosen this role because it is different from the character that I have played before. She is real and not an idealistic one."
We asked her if she could relate to her onscreen character who's a follower of astrology and she said, "Mamta believes in horoscopes and she also finds out solutions for her daughters' problems through it. Frankly speaking, to a certain extent, I personally do believe in astrology. I also consider that horoscope affects us."
So do you relate your reel life character with your real life? Supriya shared, "Yes, I do because there are lot of similarities. I realised that every time I play a character, I start believing that I am that character. The way I would react in real life is the same things my onscreen character does. Previously it was not like that because I was bound by some past story but on this show, I don't have any past story. I am just being myself and enjoying it.
You are playing the mother to five daughters, so do you think the mother-son bond is missing?
"In the show, all my daughters are very sweet, lovely and they have their own characteristic. I am happy that I have five daughters because they are more caring. I don't miss having a son because my son-in-laws are there to complete that space. For me a daughter and a son are equal."
Lastly, tell us what are your expectations from this show?
"I am expecting the same kind of love that I received by playing Radha (Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi), Sheleja (Sasural Genda Phool) and Amrit (Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi...Meri Bhabhi). I will give my heart and soul to the show because I love doing my work. I feel my work is appreciated as I genuinely like to play the character being offered to me," said the actress
We wish the lovely lady all the best for her career.
