I was thinking the same thing about the coins.. I mean it fits every single line just like you have explained..

@Avie - It's probably wrong. My first thought was secret keeper or RoR or some secret passage but they're all wrong; then that "don't offend" made me think of some creatures so that's why I thought of thestrals, but I'm pretty sure they're described as gentle beings in the books.
