Yes but his lack of professionalism might have played a role in it. This kind of attitude drives away people who might actually want to work with you. But then this is my opinion. I don't know the complete story.

The reason for not taking Govinda in David's films is not the sole reason. Even if David didn't wanted to make his films suffer, he could have stand with Govinda during that low phase, this is what govinda is saying.

If Govinda WAS a superstar, so was David Dhawan also. He did 4 more movies after Govinda, 2 Disasters, 1 Hit, 1 Semi-Hit. David also is not in some HOT SHOT Director list now for which he won't ask Govinda 2 be part in his future films.

Even govinda understand he is not THE SUPERSTAR now, or else he won't be doing kill dill / happy ending kind of movies, especially Happy Ending in which his role was cut short.

He expected as a friend from David, not as a professional director.
