I have been watching Ijaazat, though have missed many episodes and did find that the story was not moving forward. Now it has.

It is a story between Sahil, a big-shot director and his wife Seep, a writer who are in their early to mid thirties. I like how in this drama they show the woman so strong and not willing to forgive the infidelity of the husband, but goes on to make a new life for herself, with someone else, even after the husband comes begging.Usually in divorces it is the woman who bear the brunt, but here they show the man being all alone and the lady starting a new life with a person who loves her.

Agree with you ,i also like this drama as it done very well . Its mature story , not loud .Actors are also subtle .No over the top crying drama and liked the way how Seep handles the break up with dignity and same goes with Paaras . Behram looks like Nasirudin Shah . Sahir character is also subtle .

Haan yes forgot to mention abt Paras. She too is shown a strong character and though her position is vulnerable she does not let Sahil to take advantage of her, but at the same time they have shown her smart and she does not antagonize Sahil, knowing it would be detrimental to her career.

Another thing is the age group shown, which is in their 30s. Usually u have the very youthful romances where it's the parents or the financial differences which are the hindrance to the young couple. But here the story is again relationship based and though it may look that it's a married man being unfaithful and falling for someone else, but it's more tahn just that. It's about where does the relationship head from there onwards.

BTW first time I came to exactly know about the concept of Halala.😳

The original name of this drama is Ishq Junoon Deewangi and the OST sang by Rahet Fateh Ali Khan is beautiful too.

This i know but not knew the name of this thing . I just knew that this was done so that one divorce a person thinking not at the spur of the moment . Perhaps same was in the movie Talaq with Salma Agha . It was BR Chopra,s movie based on social this issue .

Story concepts are very real not over the top . Just tell the story straight forward and many directors fell in love with their muse . And so came the destruction .

it is a mature drama with a mature theme.love how seep does not forgive sahir unlike most stories.each character has its own characterstics.all 5 main characters have their own importance as far as story is concerned.
neerja you must be talking about nikah, there too salma agah Question about women's perspective. I literly clapped when sahir suggests halala for seep and said hr will beat it and seep said she will not do it,what a self centered and shameless person sahir is.

Yes it was Nikah and this movie has dealt with social issue and its end confrontation was quite impact-full. Sometimes you just get disillusioned and merge the line of love and obsession . Same happened with Sahil . He was obsessed with Paras . But you are left with regret and obsession .Perhaps he deep down only loved Seep but his obsession with paras ruined him . There are no written laws . God knows ,if these are rumurs are truth but same was with Gurudutt .
I like the pak stories because its a;ll about human weaknesses and are progressive .

I love the title song of it. The strength of Seep's character is outstanding. She portrays an independent woman who madly loves her husband but not at the cost of compromising with her self respect.
