Smita Bansal : In 1998, CID started & today is 2015 but CID is still continuing uninterruptedly without a break. 😲

Anup Soni : It's a history...yes CID creates HISTORY as a longest running show on the television. ⭐️

Smita Bansal : Anup, isn't it something amazing that one crime thriller has continued for such a long period? ⭐️

Anup Soni : Of course Smita & I really feel proud that we were part of it. 😳

Colors TV (angrily): Hmph. 17 years. What's the big deal in that? 😵

Star Plus (angrily): Exactly. We've been around for so long as well. No one celebrates that. In fact I demand a party right now. 🤓

Colors TV (rolling eyes): Shut up crybaby.

Star Plus (in anger at Colors): I'm no crybaby you rangeela person. 😡

Colors TV (putting hands up in surrender): Okay, okay. No fighting. But really the only reason we don't celebrate our successes because we don't toot our horn like Sony does. 🤔

Star Plus: True. For Sony there's only one show that they always play around with and nothing happens. Yeah some diehard fans and long-time viewers make some noise and some changes are made, but usually not. 🤔

Colors TV (pouting): Damn that's true. But still I hate Sony for having a show that has been running for so long. I want to celebrate our successes right now.

Star Plus (rolling eyes): Now whose the crybaby?

At this point Sab TV walked over and heard the last part of what Colors TV had said.

Sab TV: What's wrong with a show that has been running for 17 years and is entering its 18^th year? It's a great thing. And you should be happy for the show. 😕

Colors TV: Oh please. The show is really the only reason for the channel still being around in the top 10. I bet you if this show ended then Sony would be long gone.

Sab TV (in confusion): Okay now I'm confused. Are you happy that the show has been around for so long or mad that the show has been around for so long and is the reason for Sony being your competitor?

Star Plus (quickly): Both!

Sab TV (hiding a laugh): Okay now you're confusing me even more.

At this time Zee TV and Life OK came over to see what these 3 channels were discussing so animatedly.

Zee TV: What is going on here? 😛

Sab TV (still trying not to laugh): I'm getting confused as to what Colors and Star are trying to say.

Life OK: What does that mean? 😕

Star Plus: Well Colors and I feel that this is nothing to celebrate about.

Sab TV: Yet I say it is. Because it's a milestone after all!

Colors TV: And I say that this show is also the reason that Sony is such a big competitor of ours.

Life OK (undecidedly): I agree with that! Sony runs because of 3 shows. And CID is one of them. Though I shouldn't be saying that since Fireworks also produces a show on my channel, which has been one of my longest running shows as well. 😕

Zee TV: I know. Even the media says that. But really I swear I'm so jealous of Sony sometimes. 😒

Sab TV: Why's that?

Zee TV (lamely): Well you know. I mean their crime shows run so well and for so long. And while ours run well, they always taper out after a couple of years.

Life OK: I know right! It's so weird! I'm jealous of them as well.

Sab TV: Well that's what makes Sony so great. They're able to keep audience hooked so their shows run so well.

Colors TV (angrily): Ugh. I don't get why we're talking to you. After all you're Sony's sister. Sheesh.

Sab TV (confused): I'm just sticking up for a show. What's that got to do with my relationship with Sony?

Colors TV (slapping forehead): Look this isn't one of your shows. This is a very serious conversation. So act a bit mature.

Life OK (lamely): Hold on. Where's the seriousness in this? I thought we were just having a discussion.

Colors TV: Okay you're totally lame now Life OK.

Bigg Boss's voice comes on at that.

Bigg Boss: Bigg Boss chahte hain ke sab channels achi taran se baat karen aur koi aise comments nahi banaye jo doosre channels ke khilaaf ho. Yaad rakho yeh Bigg Boss ke rules ke khilaaf hai. 😈

Zee TV (angrily): What the hell is Bigg Boss doing in a party especially for channels? COLORS! 😡

Colors TV (lamely): Err he gate-crashed. 🤔

Life OK (rolling eyes): Yeah and I'm the Duke of Netherlands.

Star Plus (confused): Who is the Duke of Netherlands? 😕

Life OK: How should I know?!! It's just an expression!

Star Plus: Then why use an expression that has no sense to it?

Zee TV: ENOUGH!

Life OK: I say we should enjoy the party. I mean just look at how much the cast and crew is enjoying. And Channel V is mixing so well with everyone. They don't seem to be hating Sony or CID.

Colors TV: Why would they? They have a completely different audience that we'll probably never be able to hook in as easily.

Star Plus: Yeah but Sony PAL is also mixing on the floor.

Colors TV: That's because they're Sony's sister as well. Like really.

Zee TV: Oh stop complaining Colors. Look my sister Zee Marathi is out there as well. I'm going over as well. As it is we truly wanted CID on our channel and we even awarded them for such an amazing achievement. They totally deserve this celebration! 😃

Life OK: I agree. Jealousy is on its own side and a celebration is on its own side. And these guys deserve to be felicitated for their milestone. 👏

Star Plus: I'm coming as well.

Colors TV: They do deserve a congrats. Fine. Let's all go. 😊

Anup Soni : Yes of course! No matter how much competition there is between channels, no matter how much they fight, no matter how jealous they are, they always celebrate such milestones. 😎

The reason behind this achievement is not just one or two men but a huge number of people whose hard work has paid off. With an extraordinary cast, the show has turned out to be the longest running show of our nation.Characters like ACP Pradyuman, Sr.Inspector Abhijeet and Daya, Freddy, Dr. Salunkhe, Sachin, Purvi and many others have become household names.The actors behind these famous characters are some of the strongest reasons behind the show's success. We have noticed that these characters gradually changed a lot. Today we, the fans would like to give a review of the present cast, down the years!

Fans really fail to understand how a DIG can be demoted to DCP after 7 years. Perhaps the character can better explain it. In 2005 Face Off- Trail In London series, D I G S A M S H E R S I N G H first appeared. His no-nonsense & strict attitude was seen in that series. After that in 2012, he again appeared in the episode Kissa Daya Aur Lapata Bachhe Ka Part I [20th January 2012]. From then, he occasionally appears in few episodes. D C P C H I T R O L E is somewhat different from DIG Samsher Singh. His behaviour has turned into a humorous one, and his movements & activities are quite funny. The strictness is totally gone. But still he loves to criticize his juniors like before. He especially doesn't like ACP Pradyuman & always tries to find faults. Many times he has tried to create problems within the team & for that he even recruited a few new officers. But he failed to succeed in his plan. Whether it is DIG Samsher Singh or DCP Samsher Singh Chitrole, there is one good point in his character and that is that he admits his fault & also praises the team, though it doesn't occur too often. Like we remember how DIG praised ACP to shoot his own son, how DCP unwillingly praised CID team 'tum sab achhe CID officers ho' and we never forget how he said sorry to ACP sir & sent him back to CID. Overall, he is the most mysterious & unpredictable character of CID through the years.

A C P P R A D Y U M A N is the pillar of CID from past 17 years. He entered in the very first episode named Kissa Zehar Ka [21st January 1998] as Inspector Shrikant. After 2 episodes, he got a promotion & became ACP. DCP Dipankar ordered him to select a few best officers to make a special team aka CID. It's not cleared to fans that whether Shrikant renamed as Pradyuman or both are part of his name & surname. In the episode of Case of Thief Within (1998), we saw his family - wife & his son named RAJEEV. In 2000, ACP Pradyuman was going through the first tough time of his career when he lost his eyesight in the end of an episode named Case of Hijacked Car. But he fought with situation & never gave up. In spite of being blind, he solved 4 cases. Case of Impossible Murder is one the episodes among these 4 episodes, which is always remembered by the fans. No one can forget the dialogues of ACP Pradyuman & Dr Salunkhe, where ACP Pradyuman said - "Dr Salunkhe ek andhe ACP se haar gaya", who later replied - "Koi baat nehin sir iss haar mein vi ek maja hei". It shows what an efficient officer he is! Thankfully he got a donor, and returned back to CID after getting eyesight in the episode of Case of Unknown Body (2000). He is portrayed as an honest, dedicated, intelligent and loyal person who puts duty as his first priority. No one can forget how he shot his own son, NAKUL, who turned against the law during the Face Off series. Here again fans became confused with data about who is Nakul because ACP Pradyuman had 1 son named Rajeev. Does it mean that he had two sons but it never showed in CID till date? Nonetheless, we'll call it a huge blunder from the creative team of CID. There is another confusion regarding his wife, whether she is alive or not as she is not shown after 2000. Anyway all these facts never hamper the character of ACP Pradyuman. He usually abides rules, but can go to any extent for protecting the innocent and getting justice for them. He resigned from his job during Grahan Series [2012-13] to save girls from human trafficking racket. He leads a team of efficient officers, from whom he expects perfection and dedication. In the beginning his character was calm, composed and a bit jovial when required, but still within the boundaries of ACP. Later, he was shown to be more aggressive towards accused, especially when the accused is one of his own team members. But, along with his anger, his team enjoys his subtle love and affection. He shares a fatherly relation with his team, especially Abhijeet & Daya, who always stand for him when rest of the world go against him. In turn, ACP Pradyuman loves them like his own sons. He's a living example of dedication, decorum and humanity.

A B H I J E E T has been a part of the CID family through 16 years. Ever since the character was introduced in the episode Case of the Stolen Dynamite [21-28 July 1999], he proved to be a no-nonsense cop. He began his journey as an Inspector. During a high-risk operation regarding drug rackets in the past, some criminals brutally assaulted him and left him to die. Somehow, he managed to survive, but lost his memory permanently. Due to this, not much is known about his pre-joining years of CID. He turned out to be a suave, strict and duty-bound cop. His loyalty to ACP Pradyuman is something viewers look forward to seeing always and this was evident during the Face Off series in 2005 where he declining the post of ACP when DIG Shamsher offered it to him. No one can forget his words "Daya, Shamsher ko malum nehin ki Abhijeet bik nahi sakta aur ACP ki office ka rashta Pradyuman ke laash ke upar se nehin jaata hai". Such is his loyalty to ACP sir. As the professional side of his grew stronger by the hour, his friendship with his colleague Daya is something all the viewers, both big and small, love to cherish on screen. His concern and sincere friendship was seen very much in Staged Murder [3-10 June 2005], Case of Inspector Daya's Abduction [7 September 2007], and so many other episodes. Many times he has not hesitated to risk his life for Daya [Abhijeet in Coma of 2010, Satara Mein Khoon of 2013 & Azaadi ki Jung of 2014 are a few recent examples]. Their friendship is the special treasure for the fans. Unfortunately due to a disastrous unexplained track, this exceptional friendship also went through a tough phase but nothing can be so strong enough to destroy it. He has been trapped several times for vengeance by criminals but proved innocent later. He never thinks twice to give his resignation if he finds himself guilty. Till date, 2 times he gave his resignation but it was not accepted. Many anecdotes say, no matter how much a person is good, there is always something to stain his reputation and Abhijeet is no exception to this. Though he isn't exactly defamed, but there certainly is a black mark while peeping into his character - Dr. Tarika. Ever since the forensic doctor entered in 2007, Abhijeet's character received a minuscule stain. His flirting with her openly in the lab and the school-boyish dance in Chudail Ka Raaz [14 February 2013] sure does irk some fans. True that in cases like Giraftaar, and the Shreya Sagaai Track, she supported him, but since the track failed to be handled in a mature way, fans prefer to be better off without it. Apart from this, he shares a harmonious bond with all his juniors and his nok-jhoks with Salukhe sir in the early days are so much worth cherishing. He is also known for his investigative capability. He has an ingenuity to shoot at the target accurately however far it is by just hearing the sound. He is by far the best marksman in C.I.D. & till now he took more than 70 disguises. To put this character in a nut-shell, Abhijeet is a devoted and a very determined cop, a model senior and a very loyal junior to ACP sir.

The iconic Senior Inspector D A Y A is one of the pillars of CID. He set his foot in the show as a sub inspector long back in the episode Case of Anonymous Threats [also known as Mysterious Parcel] aired on 6th and 13th may 1998. With the passage of time the shy, sweet young junior has turned to a fearless cop, a caring and friendly senior, a perfect leader. Apart from his amazing investigative skills he uses his remarkable physical power to nab the criminals. His one slap is enough to break the hardest criminal even and make them confess the crime. His door-breaking ability has become a trademark. Besides that, Daya has acquired efficiency in disguises too. He uses his disguise skill in undercover operations to find the ray of truth in the darkness of mystery. He never thinks once to take life risk in the line of duty or to save his fellow teammates. This tough looking man with the golden heart is always there to extend helping hand to his colleagues as seen in various episodes. To solve the case of kidney racket he even put himself as a bait (Case of Healthy Patient) , he willingly take bullets on his chest while trying to save his best friend Sr. Inspector Abhijeet and ACP Pradyuman in Beherupiya. Sr. Inspector Daya has returned from the jaws of death to protect other souls a number of times (Missing Father, Daya In Danger, Boarding School Ka Rahasya and many more). He has been trapped several times for vengeance by criminals but proved innocent later (Missing Bullet, Case of Dishonest Cop, Staged Murder, Daya Ek Katil?, Kissa Daya Aur Lapata Bache Ka and many more). He gets close and friendly with kids very easily. Some famous episode depicting such bonds are Kissa Daya Aur Lapata Bache Ka, Khatre Mein Daya, and Khoon Bhari Holi. The friendship between Sr. Inspector Daya and Sr. Inspector Abhijeet is legendary. They always stand by each other no matter how difficult the situation is. Innumerable times they have put their lives in danger to save each other. Unlike his bright career, his personal life has faced many turmoil. Initially, he had a family of father, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew but later he was shown brought up in an orphanage Mamta Foundation. His first girlfriend Sonali broke his heart by betraying him as she worked for a criminal group in Deadly Betrayal. Long after that Sr. Inspector Daya got in a relationship with a girl Purvi [do not confuse with Ins Purvi, she is different one] but he himself broke the relation because she falsely accused Abhijeet & forced him to arrest Abhijeet without proof. Later his subtle relation with Inspector Shreya didn't last long for misunderstandings. But this track brought a divide in his legendary friendship with Abhijeet, thus it's hugely criticized by the fans. Thankfully they come out with new promises not to affect their friendship for the circumstances. In short, he is toughest yet benevolent cop in CID.

With apron on and contact glasses marking the studious features, D R S A L U N K H E showed up for the very first time as the leading forensic expert of CID. After joining in 1998, it didn't take him much time to soar high and in 2000, he showcased his incomparable expertise and unmatched sharp brain by making the dead man speaking in The Case of Invisible Killer. When he was roaring loud in his career in 2003, he went on a hiatus to return in 2005 to save Ins. Daya in Staged Murder, where his entry was as sudden and unexpected as was his clandestine exit, which he named a transfer on ACP's demand to which the latter steeply denied. But, he wasn't completely back. It was only in The Case of Dangerous Lady (2007) that he fully returned but this time, he opted for a gentleman's suit over a researcher's lab coat. This change in his attire didn't bring any change in his efficiency to fish out proofs from dead bodies and he still is the best man of investigative team whose findings turn the course of the case, sometimes entangling it more and sometimes solving it in a jiffy. He has won plaudits for his work in his career but his journey as a doctor has never been a cake walk, instead, many a rough patches welcomed him at times, some of which were stony as well. Case of Clinching Evidence, Rahashya Paanch Kankalo Ka, Aaropi Dr. Salunkhe, CID Viruddh Adaalat, Salunkhe Ki Hatya, Forensic Rahashya and Rahasyamay Dweep are a few examples where he becomes trapped & accused or others try to take revenge on him. But all these attempts never really affected him and he came out unscathed every time. He may be involved in countless banters with the team, especially ACP Pradyuman, but he shares an easy camaraderie with all. Despite a few misunderstandings in the past, he and ACP Pradyuman are great friends and a glimpse of their friendship could be seen in Case of Multiple Puzzles, Case of Clinching Evidence, Case of Talking Parrot, CID At Ransom, ACP Pradyuman Giraftaar, CID Mein Daraar and many more. On the very personal front, he may be taken as a colourful and lively person who celebrates his hair transplant out of ecstasy and is found talking to his mysterious girlfriend over the phone, and his craze for his hairs and his secretive girlfriend are often the subjects of mockery by duo, especially Sr. Ins. Abhijeet. Although he picks a fight very often in the eyes of all, but when it comes to the integrity of any of the officers, he always rises to the occasions and backs them, if the recent Giraftaar series is ignored. He is a respectable senior with ocean of knowledge to his pocket and has been lending all what he could to his juniors for years. Dr. Tarika is his most loved assistant. Over the years, he has transformed from a solemn and silent professional to a boisterous doctor but today also, he is arguably the greatest forensic analyst of CID as his perfection at work is undisputed and precision and accuracy to the minute details is commendable.

Inspector F R E D R I C K S, lovingly called Freddy, is one of the officers who has been associated with the team from the very beginning apart from ACP Pradyuman. In the initial days he was called Brian and after that Michael. He was renamed Fredricks later and his character has become prominent after 1999. He used to be a very serious, no nonsense and hard working cop in the earlier days, later his character was given a jovial, humorous touch. Inspector Fredricks is a fun loving, emotional, sweet hearted person who cares a lot for his teammates and loves them more than his life. When he was a sub-inspector he used to share a good rapport with his friend Sub-Inspector Sudhakar. From 2006 onwards after Sub-Inspector Vivek joined, he and Vivek developed a lovely friendship bond besides being senior-junior. The latter used to play sweet pranks on Inspector Fredricks but he's the one who loves the former the most. Vivek got shattered on the event of supposed death of him when he was abducted by Don HD in 2010. Inspector Fredricks is closest to both Sr. Inspector Abhijeet and Sr. Inspector Daya. The duo and Vivek love playing cute pranks on him. Stealing sweets from him smartly in The Case of the Deadly Video Game is just one example. But he supports the duo whenever they are in trouble and shows unconditional faith on them which is evident in the episodes Abhijeet Ke Ateet Ka Raaz, Sr. Inspector Abhijeet, CID Giraftaar, CID Pe Grahan and many more. He's the one who prays to Lord to save the duo in return of his own happiness when any of the two is fighting for life on hospital bed in the episodes like Beherupiya and Abhijeet Ka Inteqaam. He once started drinking and got scolded by ACP for arguing with him over drinking when Daya rescued him in the episode Monsoon Mystery. He is one of the most adorable members of CID. The team celebrated his birthday grandly in Paheli Laash Ke Tukdon Ki and he was proved innocent by them when he was accused of stealing a necklace in a party in episode Khooni Necklace. Though he has a big fear of ghosts for which he always gets snubbed by his seniors he never fails to take risk for duties and displays his bravery. He's happily married and he loves his wife a lot as well as scared of her. But unfortunately the creative team failed to give 1 name to his wife as she has few names over the years, Anjali, Manisha and Smita are few of them. Inspector Fredricks is one of the pillars of CID.

In the den of traitors, he went under the pretense of Siddharth, the fiance of the deceased, and this marked the entry of Inspector S A C H I N in CID team. It happened in the episode Khooni Deewar (May 7, 2010) where he kept his identity under wraps as being the part of the Undercover mission that was heading a cloak-and-dagger operation to get hold of the drug dealers. Officially, he was introduced in CID in the succeeding episode, Maut Ka Aashirwaad (May 14, 2010) and his journey of a cop started henceforth. From climbing the fortified walls to arresting the fugitive criminals to outfoxing the camouflaged culprits, he has done all with great conviction and courage. Endorsed as a well-built cop with quintessential boldness and intelligence nowadays, he was a thorough listener and influential learner in his starting days. As from the beginning, he harbours high respect for his seniors, shares an amiable bond with his counterparts and is an esteemed and soft senior possessing firmness. Remarkably equipped with brawn and agility, he has emerged victorious from head-on fights with the opponents every time. Small wounds from bullets, scratches from brawls and poisonous darts, all of which he came across in the line of duty never deterred him from serving the country. The kidnapping, that he faced in Aakhri Chunauti, CID Ki Kidnapping and Maut Ka Telephone, only increased his physical prowess and spunk to face dangers. He formed a decent pair with Sr. Ins. Rajat and has this ability of flexible working under his seniors. He is known to mask his emotions beautifully and has always been a reserved candidate but his fondness and liking for the girl who suffered temporary memory loss in The Case of Memory Loss was well seen. Also, from a silent auditor earlier, he had started taking parts in the leg-pulling lately. It was only in 2013 and thereon that he began heading the search and investigation partially. A focused and diligent cop who never backs down and is always hungry to eradicate crime and make this world a better place to live, he has won awards and accolades in the eyes of ACP Pradyuman and others when he was praised for his selfless work many a times.

P U R V I was first seen in the episode Kissa Pagal Aashiq Ka [30 July 2011] as a timid, silent junior. After a couple of episodes, she again returned in the episode Aankhein in 2011. Very soon, she proved to be a very daring yet a loyal junior. The episode dealing with her past CID Mein Gaddar [23 June 2012] revealed her to be an orphan who was kidnapped and sold in her budding age. Her love for her family-like team was seen in CID Ki Kidnapping [15 December 2012] where she tries to jump off the cliff to save the others from an explosion but is later saved by duo. Another instance could be sighted as Diamond Robbery [21 March 2014] where she single-handedly clings on to a rope and saves the asphyxiating Abhijeet. She slowly turned into a woman pillar of the team, when once she singly caught hold of few eve teasers disturbing a living-alone girl in the episode Box Mein Hatya [27 April 2014]. The only thing that disheartened viewers was the dance that the actress got to do in Giraftaar-4. The CVs did bundle up in the episode of Commando [7 April 2013] when it was shown that Daya had some telephonic conversation with Purvi's mother while in 2012, though it was clear that she is an orphan. Apart from that, in totality, Purvi is a daring woman cop and also a very true junior to all her seniors.

S H R E Y A entered CID team as an Inspector in episode Raaz Sar Aur Haath Ka [30th June 2012]. She is from Ahmedabad, having a family consisting mother, father and grandparents. She is a brave officer who fought against the crime along with team. She takes inspiration from her seniors Sr. Inspector Abhijeet and Sr inspector Daya. She was kidnapped many times and also suffered gunshot once while performing her duties. She is shown as a strong and sensitive woman who confessed a crime she never performed to save her family in episode Shreya Ka Saitan. She is a good team player (Rahasyamay Hotel) and shares special friendship with Purvi and forensic expert Tarika. She developed some feelings for Senior Inspector Daya, but got engaged to Sidharth as per her parents' wish. In that way she clearly plays with emotions of 3 people. Due to this track, her character is totally butchered by the creative team of CID & got huge criticism by the fans.

Her career kicked off on a treadmill with the hard rock music soaring in the otherwise reclusive background of the forensics. Introduced as a boss to Dr. Salunkhe in The Don's Final Revenge (August 10, 2007), curly haired D R T A R I K A mysteriously went on to become his assistant about which no issues were ever created. Not only she proved herself as an obedient and meticulous apprentice to Dr. Salunkhe in her starting days but also stood as a responsible and professionally amiable senior cum teacher to Dr. Vaibhav recently. Groomed under the hawk eye of Dr. Salunkhe, her dexterity over chemicals and dead bodies has only enhanced with the clock and today, she is looked up on as an expert with brains and brawn. On a different note, she shares a great rapport with all her colleagues, esp. Shreya and Purvi with whom she often lightens her pocket. She harbours some feelings for Sr. Ins. Abhijeet, who also feels the same for her but unfortunately the creative team failed to show a proper mature relationship in between them. Not that her seven years long tenure with CID was an easy ride but was very much prone to obstructions. She was kidnapped in few episodes like Aakhri Chunauti & Khatre Mein Tarika. Her integrity and loyalty towards her work was also questioned at times when she faced allegations of being a helping hand to the conspirators. But every time she was accused or looked up on with a doubtful eye, she came out clear and unalloyed. Not only that she proved her mettle in forensics, she also exhibited her valiant and detective front in Raaz Lapata Kidney Ka, Painting Ki Chori, Mahabharat 2, Khatre Mein Abhijeet and Holiday Murder, where in the last two, she investigated and, in the others, disguised to catch hold of a culprit. All in all, her commitment to the quest of perfection in her field has been total over the years.

Though Sub inspector N I K H I L joined CID team only in the middle of 2011 he has become an important part of the team and his character has improved a lot. His debut episode is Qatil Ka Raaz Mare Hue Qatil Ke Pas that aired on 8th July 2011. He's an ardent follower of Sr. Inspector Daya and looks upon the latter as his mentor. His concern for the latter is evident when he's in any life threatening trouble in episodes like Mission Goa, Khatre Mein Daya, CID Giraftaar series. His antics are sometimes hilarious and in spite of being a CID officer he has a fear of ghosts for which he sometimes gets snubbed by his seniors. He has risked his life a few times in the line of duty.

P A N K A J was bought into the CID team during the Grahan Series by DCP Chirole. His initial purpose was to spy over the team, destroy evidences and eventually ruin the team along with Suraj. His character transformed from the shadow of DCP Chitrole to a soldier of ACP Pradyuman over the years. He was told by ACP Pradyuman to always consider if performing any act is helping the people in society. He seems to take inspiration from there as well as developing good relations within team, especially with Inspector Fredericks. Pankaj and Fredericks bring some lighter moments to the episode, but are always portrayed as cowards and believers of super natural spirits.

Recently CID saw the entry of a new female officer who goes by the name of J A Y W A N T I S H I R K A N D E. She is a fearless and tough officer who can easily take down criminals. But she has no investigative sharp brain for which she is many a time scolded by her seniors. Besides Jaywanti, a few cops are also introduced in the tri-weekly era. They are Karan (has already left), Vikram, Mayur, Vansh, Ishita & Divya. But as they weren't properly introduced thus fans have very little information about them.

Lord Tennyson said "Men may come & men may go but I go on forever". Same is the case with CID. CID has achieved remarkable success though cops entered & exited very often. Early in 1998, we saw Senior Inspector V I R E N , a hardcore, no-nonsense cop & soon the greatest female cop of CID, Inspector A S H A rocked the floor. She was a daring, determined cop & the only female cop till date to have risen to the distinction of calling duo by name, as a sign of sheer respect & amiability. Soon after her golden era, A D I T I took her reign. But unfortunately she was killed in the line of duty in an explosion & was given a grand, dignified, final goodbye. The other male cops during this time were D A K S H & S U D H A K A R. The former was revealed to be a traitor in the team and was later killed while the latter was a silent cop though shared a friendly bond with Fredricks. As the investigative side went on, the forensic department too witnessed many experts. In Aditi's time, we saw D R A N J A L I K A , an efficient doctor who earlier was at loggerheads with ACP Pradyuman due to a misunderstanding, which was later cleared up. The investigative side then witnessed a smart woman cop, M U S K A A N. Another amiable cop she was, who shared a friendly and healthy relation with everyone in the team. It was during her time that viewers got to see their chocolate boy whose absence would mean much to them - V I V E K. He was a smart and sharp cop who loved to play pranks especially on Freddy sir. He was loved by all and had a minor crush on a fellow sub-inspector Tasha. Following him came, D I V Y A N A, an intimidated cop who was scared of blood. She later recovered & helped the team solve many a case. In the mean time, few lady cops like A N U S H K A & P R I Y A N K A stayed for some time. The forensic doctor at this time was D R N I Y A T I P R A D H A N whose petty nok-khoks with ACP sir & Abhijeet sir are always worth enjoying. She is one of best forensic expert in all time. Later came L A V A N Y A & K A V E R I, both able cops. Then in 2009 we were entreated with the entry of T A S H A - one of the most efficient cops and the best one next to Asha. During her tenure, another efficient lady cop, K A J A L came in. She was a not-so-soft cop, with a brave countenance. Tasha died in the line of duty after being shot in the chest and soon Kajal too left us. During this time, the forensic department saw D R S O N A L I B A R W E - a college mate of Dr.Salunkhe. She often got into petty arguments with him but they both together helped a lot to the investigative side. Then came Senior Inspector R A J A T - a serene, composed, determined & efficient cop, who with his sarcasm threw many a culprits off balance. Alongside Rajat, we fans were entreated with a Vivek-ish personality - V I N E E T. Soon, two other macho boy like cops - K A V I N & D U S H Y A N T entered. They were two very able cops, daring to do any task. Within months of their joining in CID, they left. Nonetheless all these cops will be in our memories and deserve a standing ovation for being part of the longest running show of Indian TV!

17 years has passed! CID started in 1998 January and today it's 2015 January. The world has changed a lot but CID is still there & still going strong. But has it also changed through the years or same as in 1998 or its beginning years. Yes a few core cast & core crew are the same but unfortunately CID is not what it used to be! It changes with time. Different type of viewers start watching while few old viewers left as they don't like all those changes. Which category are you in? 😉 Anyways we are crazy CID fans, whatever they are showing we are still watching CID & we will watch it in future. Here crazy fans divide this 17 years in 5 ERAS - The Classic Era, The Transition Era, The Fab 5 Era, The Dark Ages & The OTT Era. I am sure that you are thinking what are these era & who are we to make these division! Yeah its right!
THIS DIVISION IS BASED ON ONLY FANS THOUGHT! Before coming to any conclusion, just READ the followings, may be you can agree with us.
But PLEASE do not take it otherwise. You may disagree with our thought but DO NOT BASH ANY CAST OR MEMBER!
Here is the REVIEW OF LAST 17 YEARS :

Little did we know what we were getting! When the idea of the show was initially thought of, Mr. BP Singh had planned it to be a finite series, or more like a mini-series with a fixed no. of episodes, but thanks to the roaring success the show received by the viewers in the beginning itself, the show still continues to enthral its fans. Let us begin with the mention of a few cases from the beginning of the show, the era which can be referred to as T H E C L A S S I C E R A.

The first ever episode of CID, titled KISSA ZEHER KA aired on 21st January 1998, with Mr. Shivaji Satam playing the lead cop then named Srikanth Patkar (Yes! ACP Pradyuman wasn't named so in the beginning). The episode involves the murder of a well-established lawyer. ACP sir who at that time was referred to as 'Inspector', along with his elite team of cops, investigate the murder which seemed to have been caused by poisoning. Things get tricky when one of his own team of investigators becomes a victim to the poison. ACP and his team now have the target to not only find the murderer but also save their fellow cop in time. The main attraction of this case is the way the whole investigation procedure is conducted. The team arrives in what seems to be a police vehicle. The storyline strictly sticks to the investigation of the murder, and little is told about the personal lives. To add to that the no nonsense attitude of ACP sir makes this even better. ACP sir doesn't back out from scolding his own cop when he behaves stupidly. He is a man who believes that work is above everything else and that is clearly portrayed. If you haven't seen this case yet, you definitely must, a storyline easily capable of beating some of the really good investigative stories ever written, this episode is a great beginning to a lovely journey.

After referring to ACP as Inspector Srikanth Patkar, it was around the time CASE OF THIEF WITHIN aired that they begin to refer to him as Pradyuman and that's not just it, this case is when Inspector Pradyuman becomes ACP Pradyuman!! This case also involves the character of Inspector Viren, portrayed by the now famous film maker Ashutosh Gowarikar. Another interesting facet is the mention of ACP sir's son, the person we now know well as Nakul, though then he was referred to as Rajeev. When a theft happens in a house in quite an interesting way, the team is called on for well. The team has to calculate how the thief, without breaking the lock managed to commit the crime. A very interesting storyline and indeed a must watch case.

CASE OF ANONYMOUS THREAT/MYSTERIOUS PARCEL episode involved the debut of a character who went on to win thousands of heart with his excellent performance. CID officer Daya portrayed by Dayanand Shetty, makes his first appearance in the show in this episode. The silent cop, with a zeal and eagerness to learn something new, Daya's character easily becomes your favourite from the first day itself. Even though the absence of ACP Pradyuman is felt strongly, Viren takes up the role of second in command very well and does full justice. When a person starts receiving threat from an anonymous source, he turns to CID for help. The main charm of this episode is in the investigation. The whole concentration is on giving fans a very interesting storyline.

KISSA BEKASUR SHIKAR KA/CASE OF INNOCENT VICTIM is one of those very first few cases where the audience is given a glimpse into the personal lives of the cops. When ACP's second in command, Inspector Viren's friend is accused of murder, he must find a way to prove him not guilty while assuring himself of the same and doing justice to his work as well. A battle of emotions v/s duty, this case follows a simple storyline, excellent dialogues and some really wonderful performances, especially by Ashutosh Gowarikar.

STOLEN GUN episode marks one of the milestones in the show itself. Its considered by fans as one of the best CID episodes ever aired. When a guy named Paresh manages to steal the ACP's gun itself, the team has to make sure to get hold of him before things go out of hand. The show marks the debut of one of the actors on the show, who later went on to portray a very important character. Aditya Srivastava, now popularly known as Sr.Inspector Abhijeet, portrayed the role of the criminal Paresh in this episode. Whether this can be considered as an audition for him or not is left up to you to decide. But the CID fans are lucky to have had him act in this episode. You cannot help but feel for the criminal in this episode. Aditya Srivastava performs excellently and enthrals the audience with his mind blowing performance. This episode is a must watch not only because of the investigation but also because you can't not appreciate the criminal, the magic of Aditya Srivastava!

If Aditya Srivastav wins your heart in Stolen Gun, his partner Dayanand Shetty does in the CASE OF MISSING BULLET. When Daya is accused of murdering an innocent, he finds his world crumbling around him, ACP and his team who know of his innocence must prove it, before things worsen. One cannot help but feel awful for Daya in this episode. A guy who is living his dream by working in the line of career he always wanted to, suddenly realises that his future is in danger when he is accused of murder. We can evidently see his emotional and mental struggle, especially when he tries to commit suicide (well almost), and Dayanand Shetty portrays those emotions excellently through his performance. Overall a very interesting episode but Dayanand Shetty wins your hearts!

An ex inspector, known for his undying dedication towards his work, is found after his kidnapping, a long time later inside a car, what's worse is when he wakes up to realise that he no longer remembers anything from his past, neither his name, his work or even his own mother. Traumatised by these events, he struggles yet decides to help ACP Pradyuman and his team of cops catch hold of the criminals who were behind all this. The STOLEN DYNAMITE episode marks the entry of fan favourite, Abhijeet. Aditya Srivastava plays the role of the cop kidnapped aka Abhijeet and does full justice to the role. Aditya sir had once mentioned that he had planned to stay with the show for a very few episodes, but thankfully a few turned into a lot more and he continues to portray the character of Abhijeet that we love so much. The storyline as to how a cop who can't even remember who he was manages to help the team catch a set of criminals is what is absolutely enthralling! And did you know? You can hear Daya referring to him as 'sir' in this episode. Also the episode was aired on 21st July, the same day as Aditya Srivastava's birthday, call it a mere co-incidence but it's interesting to know Abhijeet entered the lives of CID fans on the same day !!

CASE OF MISSING FATHER is one of those first few cases where we see Abhijeet take the role of the leader in ACP's absence. Also it has the team including one of the most successful female cops of the show Asha go undercover to catch a criminal, but then things get murkier when a kid comes in between a face-off between cops and a criminal. The kid who is in search for his missing father, takes CID's help who out of their humanity decide to help him out. The kid's bonding with the team makes for an interesting aspect of the case, especially with Abhijeet, a guy who himself is struggling with his own demons of the past and lost memories. A very interesting case indeed!

CASE OF INJURED WITNESS is a very thrilling case. The episode starts off in the backdrop of Ganesh Chaturthi. Daya is seen worshipping Lord Ganesh with his little nephew & his elder brother and sister-in-law. CID team catches a culprit named Hiru Chincholi in a bomb case but when he tries to flee ACP shoots. Hiru names 2 people - Shamsher and Hariya. ACP assures him that the CID team would protect him. In the meantime, Shamsher and Hariya take hostage of Daya's family & blackmail Daya to kill Hiru while Daya refuses. Shamsher would accompany Daya and would call Hariya every 5 minutes and let him know the status. If Hariya failed to receive a call from Shamsher, he would shoot down Daya's family members. Daya becomes helpless and has no way out. He agrees to accompany Shamsher to the hospital. Daya's brother tells Daya not to bother about them & not to do anything against law. In the meantime ACP calls Daya but Hariya receives the call & cut it. Then Daya's sister-in-law calls ACP by forcing Hariya to tackle the situation. But ACP senses something wrong with her voice & wonders as to why Daya had not reached home. ACP calls Abhijeet who drives back to Daya's house. He uses a trick to enter the house & realises that there's something seriously wrong. He gets even more worried as he couldn't find Daya there and there was a stranger there. He informs everything to ACP. With the help of a dhobi, Abhijeet plants his phone in Daya's house. When Shamsher calls Hariya, ACP hears everything through the hidden mobile & explains it to Abhijeet. ACP asks Abhijeet to take care of Daya's family. Meanwhile Daya enters the ICU with Shamsher looking extremely nervous. Daya asks Hiru to drink cyanide-mixed water, but at the last minute his conscience doesn't allow him to do it. He puts duty above his family and pushes off the glass of poison. Shamsher comes out of his hiding place & threatens to shoot Daya and Hiru. At that moment Asha enters and shoots at Shamsher's hand. Hiru and Daya are saved, Shamsher is captured by Freddie and Sudhakar. ACP consoles Daya saying that he is aware of the situation and assures him that Abhijeet is present at Daya's house and he would ensure Daya's family's safety. With the help of duplicate key, Abhijeet opens the door and shoots down Hariya in style! He calls ACP that everything is fine and asks him to tell Daya that his family is safe. He heaves a sigh of relief and smiles. This was the first episode which probably sparked off a friendship between Abhijeet and Daya. Daya would forever be indebted to Abhijeet for this.

While CID mainly involves with catching the criminals once the crime has been committed, this is one interesting case where the team have to stop a crime from being committed. THE CASE OF SUICIDAL STUDENT involves the team getting together celebrating Asha's new house when a knock on the door changes things. When a man desperately in need for help after his son goes missing after leaving a suicide note comes for their help, the team try everything in their level best to make sure the boy comes back to his father safe and sound. The final interaction between the team and the boy along with his dad at the end is indeed a must watch.

Another extremely thrilling case is THE CASE OF VANISHING LADY. A very interesting episode where two separate story-lines merge into one! When Abhijeet is given the duty of making sure Ambassador Mr. Wilcox reaches airport safely, he gets caught into another case when he finds that a woman who had entered a building never came out, when the two cases seem to intermingle, Abhijeet has to make sure the life of Mr. Wilcox isn't in danger. A very thrilling episode where the tension is there till the very last minute! To add to that it is one of those few cases where the main criminal isn't really caught in the end!

INVISIBLE KILLER is an absolutely mind boggling episode which in case you're a lover for great forensic moments, you will love it to the core. The team finds itself in a puzzle when they try to understand who committed a murder after all? But when the forensic expert, Dr Salunkhe gets into action, the fans are left stunned to realise that the victim shot his own murderer due to rigor mortis of his body. Absolutely fantastic forensic scenes, some really worthy OMG moments all summarised into a perfect episode. Believe me you haven't really watched CID if you haven't seen this one.

CASE OF ACCUSED OFFICER is once again a golden case from the golden era which is liked and appreciated by countless fans. When ACP's second in command, Inspector Abhijeet is charged with the blame of taking bribe, he has to defend himself and his pride, the team helps him with the same. A very interesting case and one of the best ones amongst the genre of 'CID Cops in Danger' episodes! The whole dynamic of the team in the case makes it interesting where they struggle between fulfilling their duty and at the same time trying to support their team mate. Aditya Sir once again wins with his performance. First time, we see Abhijeet's loyalty to his team at his top when he is going to resign saying mera department meri wajah se kavi badnaam nehin hoga. Overall a must watch for the storyline, team work, and excellent performance, also if you're a fan of cases involving CID cops in danger!!

THE BLIND SERIES is the first few of those where multiple cases happen over a period of time, with a back story that connects them all. This series involved 5 episodes in all - CASE OF HIJACKED CAR, CASE OF BLIND WITNESS, CASE OF DYING STATEMENT, CASE OF IMPOSSIBLE MURDER, CASE OF MISSING MAN. While trying to get hold of a car thief, ACP Pradyuman finds himself in life altering events when he chases the thief into a factory, the confrontation after which, due to a bullet having fired from a very close range to his eyes, causes ACP Pradyuman to lose his eye sight. While every single case in this series is excellent in itself, it is Shivaji Satam's performance that can be referred to as one of the best performances ever in the whole show. While CASE OF HIJACKED CAR leaves ACP Pradyuman blind, things become further complicated when in CASE OF BLIND WITNESS ACP Pradyuman is the only witness to a crime. The way he catches the smell of the perfume of the criminal and helps the team catch them is what makes an extremely exciting track. CASE OF DYING STATEMENT in itself is an excellent episode. Especially one which stand for women's rights and fights against ill treatment of women. If you're a fan of Asha this is a must watch because her performance is enthralling. The last 2 cases of this series involved some really tricky situations and cases which led the audience into confusion as to who would the criminal be, but ACP Pradyuman solved it with his excellence. The series ended with the CASE OF MISSING MAN after which ACP Pradyuman finally regained back his eyesight.

THE CASE OF UNKNOWN BODY is the remarkable case to the viewers because ACP Pradyuman returns back to duty and the way the team welcomes him is a lovely sight indeed. The main highlight of this era was the relation between Dr. Salunkhe and ACP. Similar to the famous duo, these 2 shared a lovely chemistry, bickering, arguing and at the same time great friends. After a heartwarming beginning, the case takes an interesting turn when a lady goes missing. Even though Daya sir was absent through the episode, the team covered up really well for him. A main highlight of this episode was the forensics. The technicalities and the way every single forensic scene was explained made this an episode worth watching.

CASE OF HIGHWAY ROBBERY is one of the very interesting disguise oriented episodes. Abhijeet and Asha go to investigate a case disguised as husband and wife. Asha has to dress up in heavy jewellery to attract robbers while Abhijeet plays her rich husband. The whole plot is very interesting filled with fun moments especially during the disguise. How they manage to get hold of the culprits in itself proves to be a very interesting episode.

CASE OF STOLEN CAR is one of the best, team oriented cases of this era. When a car carrying a bomb is stolen, the team has to find it in time before the bomb sets off causing havoc. An episode that keeps the viewers on the edge till the last moment! Filled with nail biting tension filled moments, and by the time team finds the car, the viewers don't really get a chance to relax as they realise the bomb is yet to be diffused. With a few seconds left, the episode makes the audience wonder will they succeed or won't. What is interesting is the way they show how close the team had gotten in this episode, especially during the bomb diffusing scene where everyone refuses to leave and stands for this together. When Abhijeet finally manages to diffuse the bomb, audience finally get a chance to relax, and Asha hugging ACP and ACP comforting her is indeed an adorable scene.

CASE OF CRY FOR HELP is a very interesting case in which the team has to stop a woman before she commits a crime. What makes it even more interesting is that they have no other information about her other than her name. How they manage to find her before she kills her husband because of domestic violence, is what makes this case a very thrilling one. Another facet of this case is how the team gives the message against domestic violence. Especially when Daya sir in the end is about to punish the husband for his act and ACP stops him shows yet again why one should give respect women.

THE CASE OF HIDDEN SNIPER is a case which not only stands apart from the rest because of its storyline but also some moments which make you smile. When a man is shot while he was standing near the entrance of a moving train, the bullet seems as if it's come from air. How CID solves this crime and gets hold of the criminal makes it a case worth watching. To add to that the way Abhijeet manages to save retired General Bhatnagar from being killed and how Daya yet again shows his mighty strength and lifts the criminal like a bag, summarises this to become a very interesting case.

ACP with team is visiting a jail where they find a very young prisoner. He is accused of trading in drugs. Speaking with him ACP understands that he is a small fish and the masterminds are out in the open. This leads to Abhijeet going undercover disguised as a drug dealer to find the criminals. That's why the episode name is THE CASE OF UNDERCOVER COP. Abhijeet is the highlight of this episode. The whole undercover scene is very well written and performed.

When an imposter starts taking bribes posing as Abhijeet, the team has to stop him. THE CASE OF TWO ABHIJEETS is yet another Abhijeet oriented episode but the overall team chemistry is what stands as the highlight. The dialogues in this episode are what make it this special. Some indeed make you laugh out, while some warm your heart. A very well directed episode where the whole concentration is on the plot, while the equation between Abhijeet and Daya around this time went from senior junior to more like co workers, Daya still refers to him as 'aap'. Overall a very fun filled and interesting episode! Kudos to the crew, especially the dialogue writer!

THE CASE OF 50,000 ENEMIES is another wonderful case of golden era. A reference made yet again to Abhijeet's past, where Daya tells ACP that Abhijeet has gone to deal with some gang dealing in selling guns illegally and that the last time he had gone alone, ended him being found in the trunk of a car with his memory forgotten. The concern Daya has for Abhijeet is interesting. The case sheds light on how much their equation changed from the beginning till now. Some moments especially when Abhijeet and Daya act as a barber and customer are indeed funny especially when Abhijeet comments that Daya doesn't look like a barber from any angle. Surprisingly Abhijeet does get into trouble and Daya finally saves him.

THE CASE OF HEALTHY PATIENTS is yet another tension filled yet extremely interesting case. The team decide to crack the case of organ trade, which leads to Daya sir going undercover and getting himself into trouble when he almost manages to become the victim of the trade. The audience end up thinking that everything is over when the surgeon makes the incision to remove his kidney, luckily CID team saves him and Dr Salunkhe jumps in to stitch him back, resulting in him being safe and sound. A very thrilling episode with excellent performance by Daya sir undercover and indeed a mind blowing episode!

CASE OF IMPOSSIBLE MURDER is the case where a lady whose husband was arrested and hanged because of Abhijeet decides to take revenge against him. She takes him into a closed room and tells him that she has evidence of her husband's innocence. Suddenly she looks behind Abhijeet and asks an invisible man not to shoot her. Abhijeet turns back to see who she's talking to when he hears a gunshot and the lady falls down, with a bullet injury on her chest. Daya and others hear the gunshot and break into the room to see the injured lady and Abhijeet with a gun in his hand. The lady is rushed to the hospital but she dies on the way. Forensic investigation proves that the bullet found in the lady was fired from Abhijeet's bullet. Abhijeet is suspended. Few deeper investigations prove that the shot fired in the closed room was not really a gunshot but just a cracker with a packet of fake blood in the lady's clothes, often used in movies. The lady had shot herself dead on the way to the hospital with another bullet which was stealthily extracted from Abhijeet's own gun. The ingenious manner in which the lady killed herself in order to frame Abhijeet makes it one of the best classic cases of all time. The episode has some fine acting by the trio and also Kanika who played the revengeful lady.

THE CASE OF BLACKMAIL VICTIMS episode features well known actors Rajesh Khera as Badshash & Milind Gunaji as Johny. When a government official's bag is stolen in a train, things tend to go dangerous since the bag contained a diary with the details of people listed under Witness Protection Program. Johny blackmails CID for giving 1 crore in exchange of that diary. ACP Pradyuman refuses to give money & tries to protect all the witnesses. Daya becomes shot & at last ACP agrees to give money as he has no second option. Abhijeet goes with ransom & Johny is moving him from one place to another in the city. Secretly, Daya & others follow Abhijeet. In spite of that, Johny becomes successful to take the money & CID team returns with bare hands. But will they success is what is to be seen in this! An interesting case with an excellent villain! One of those few where the villain is extremely intelligent and makes it tough to be caught. And Milind Gunaji turns into one the best CID villains till date.

CASE OF MULTIPLE PUZZLES is one of the memorable cases for the fans. When the CID team reaches the crime location, the dead body has gone missing. A man with his daughter comes to ACP Pradyuman and requests him to help them. Dr Salunkhe finds a dead body from their car. An Investigation Officer gets killed while investigating. What makes the case really interesting is when the biggest clue the team has is the picture of a cat. The episode has some nice interesting moments between ACP and Salunkhe and once again shows how close they've grown as friends. ACP invites Salunkhe over to his place and cooking him dinner. As an addition, the episode also has Abhijeet in the disguise of a librarian and Asha as one of the visitors in the library. But this case is always remembered by the fans due to lovely friendship of duo, no it's not Abhijeet-Daya rather ACP-Salunkhe!

CASE OF FATHER'S REVENGE is another remarkable case of this era. When Daya sir is criticized to save Abhijeet accidently killing the guy has information about a kid that has gone missing, he finds himself struggling with himself emotionally forcing him to resign from his job. The case has an extremely interesting storyline and the investigation is par excellence, but what wins you over is Daya sir's performance. The character of Daya wins your hearts and you can't stop yourself from applauding his performance. To add to that, the dialogues are written very well. Daya is the star of this episode and when towards the end throws himself as a shield on the said child in an explosion arena is stunning. Also when Abhijeet scolds him for resigning and saying "Ab resign karega?", acts as a witness of how strong their friendship grew over time.

Without any doubt, CASE OF FOUR RINAS is one of the best episodes from this era. Especially if you are a fan of Ashwini Kalsekar aka Asha! When a guy seems to murder women named Rina, the team is forced to send Asha as one of those Rinas. When the culprit takes Asha as a hostage, she has to ensure her own safety and at the same time let the team know about the criminal. Ashwini Kalsekar bowls you over with her brilliant performance. Yet another case that makes you believe that the female cops are as competent as the male cops of the show. The team struggling to save Asha from the clutches of the criminal, shows excellent team bonding and the strong equation they share. Overall a thrill to watch indeed!

CASE OF CLINCHING EVIDENCE is yet another exciting accused cop case, the only difference being is when the person accused is not a cop but the forensic expert of the show Dr. Salunkhe. The team being confident of his innocence has to prove that. The episode while having an excellent storyline in itself also provides some light fun filled team moments when Salunkhe starts gifting ACP flower pots that he made himself and ACP tries to save him from them. That is one interaction for which one must see this episode. Overall a very interesting case, while cops in danger was a theme used quite often, the forensic expert being accused of murder was something new and indeed interesting to watch.

CASE OF 639 COINS, the name itself is intriguing enough and so is the episode. When a man suddenly collapses because of a heart attack in a super market, the people look into his ID to realise he's ACP Pradyuman. What is interesting is that the man is a con, who has multiple identities and a seemingly murky past. The team have to find out more about him and what he really is up to. The case has a really well written screen play and brilliant performances by the case. Abhijeet's disguise scene as a taxi driver leaves you surprised. To add to that the discussion in the CID qualis where it is decided that Abhijeet will go under disguise as the taxi driver gives the audience some moments of laughter indeed. In the end when Abhijeet gets into trouble and the CID team saves him.

CASE OF DISHONEST COP is another very memorable case especially for duo fans. When Daya's friend, a TV director (portrayed by well known actor Pavan Malhotra) commits a crime and the accusation somehow manages to point itself towards Daya, Daya has to prove himself not guilty and win back the trust of his team and fellow mates. One of those very few episodes where we see a little tension between the duo aka Abhijeet and Daya where Abhijeet lets his trust stagger a bit from Daya. A well written case with some brilliant performances! Though similar to other cops accused cases of this era, this one in itself is indeed very interesting.

CASE OF THE UNKNOWN GIRL is again a memorable case. Even though Case Of Dishonest Cop was aired after 639 coins, this case seems to take itself as a follow up to case of 639 coins where after an injury it is revealed in this episode that Abhijeet lost his memory yet again. Making him wonder who he is and he doesn't recognise his fellow team mates. However it is more like a filler when it is shown that after 3 weeks Abhijeet has recovered yet again and once again recognises everyone. The scene here where Daya says "ab toh nahi kahoge na kaun Daya?" makes it quite a memorable scene. When a mysterious girl jumps in front of Abhijeet's car, Abhijeet decides to help her and takes up her case. A very interesting episode with some great storyline and fabulous scenes and lovely dialogues! Yet again Aditya sir proves why he is indeed one of the best !!

Hope now you can realize why this era is renamed as Classic Era of CID by fans. Only few memorable cases are described above but each & every case of 1998-2002 is truly classics. Whether it's storyline, dialogues, direction or actors' superb acting, everything seems to be more than perfect.

Between the years 2003 and 2006, CID shifted its focus towards the personal lives of its officers. The senior-junior relationship between ACP and duo or between duo and their subordinates were perfectly displayed during this era. The fact that duty comes first for CID officers get emphasized through episodes like Man on Bus / Face Off / Mad Bomber / The Deadly Betrayal and many more. 2003 was based on investigative cases but the trend has changed from the classic era. 2004 to 2006 - there was a clear transition from purely investigative cases to more officer centric cases. In many cases, the cops become the suspect and while solving these cases the bonds between them become stronger. The era also witnessed the show creating history by entering the Guinness Book of World Records with the iconic episode of "Inheritance" (also known as CID 111). With some of the nicest disguise scenes to some of the lighter moments among the team members, this era has it all! In spite of all this, the suspense and the thrill continued to amaze the audience with a perfect combination of investigation, action and team spirit. Directors like Siba Mishra, Santosh Shetty and of course B.P Singh himself with their unique styles of direction came up with episode that in itself has set a standard for the show even today. As one of the best eras of CID till date, here's a list of some of the highlighting cases of the same phase named T R A N S I T I O N E R A:

All the cases of 2003 were solely based on investigation. HOWZZAT? is the exception in that list where KAPIL DEV [Former Captain of Indian Cricket Team] gave a cameo appearance as the main suspect. Though the rest of the case is very simple one but the fans always remember this case for the presence of Kapil Dev.

2004's first remarkable case is TARGET: CID aired on 30th January & 6th February. How a series of attacks on the CID officers take place one after the other and how the CID team solves the mystery in order to reach to the man behind it. Target CID is about some mysterious events that keep taking place one after the other in the lives of the cops. Not only does the team save themselves from the severe attacks but they also manage to catch the real culprit. Surely an interesting case to look forward to!

CASE OF SUICIDE THAT WAS MURDER aired on 12th & 19th March. This episode had one of the Daya's friend involved as a suspect in the murder case. Dr. Anjalika thinks Daya will try to save his friend. Daya though transparent is being blamed. In the end Daya's friend is found guilty. Dr. Anjalika blames him and scares him of jail. He commits suicide. Abhijeet in anger blames Dr. Anjalika for abetting a person towards suicide. The storyline makes it unique.

CASE OF DEADLY PROPOSAL is a very important case of this era aired on 26th March & 2nd April. The episode begins with trio shopping in a shopping centre for ACP sir's friend's son's wedding when a young girl calls ACP sir and asks to marry him. Abhijeet and Daya trace the number and find that it is of the same shopping mall. But by the time they reach there the lady is gone. However before going she promises ACP sir to murder someone if he doesn't agree with her proposal. There is a blast in the premises of the shopping centre in a shoe polish box. Here Dr. Anjalika states that the bomb is created by some expert and not a love struck girl. Meanwhile she receives a parcel which has ACP sir's gun which was used in an encounter when her husband was killed. The young girl again calls ACP sir and asks him to meet her in a vacant shop of the mall. ACP finds a dead body there which is basically planted to trap him. She then calls ACP sir and tells him that she will kill the ACP sir's friend's son who is the bridegroom. During the marriage, in the presence of the CID team, the bridegroom is poisoned and then killed. ACP sir is blamed for the same. Later it is found that the poison was in the hair gel. The team trace the house of the young girl, however she had hung herself and left a suicide note for ACP sir. Meanwhile ACP sir submits his gun and resignation to Abhijeet but Dr. Anjalika comes and apologises for unnecessarily blaming ACP sir for her entire life. He did not kill her husband and is thus innocent. CID team matches the handwriting of the suicide note with the note arrived for the marriage with the gift card and thus catches hold of the criminal.

TRUST ME, TRUST ME NOT aired on 9th & 16th April. The case is marked for the entry of Ins Daksh. How Daksh saves Abhijeet from being killed is something which amazed us specially when we come to know that Daksh's gun was not real, rather of plastic, Daksh came on viewers' good list in his first very episode. But unfortunately, his character becomes negative in course of time.

ABHIJEET IN DANGER SERIES aired from 27th August to 8th October. It has 3 episodes named - ABHIJEET IN DANGER, CASE OF HAUNTED BUILDING & CASE OF UNKNOWN CONSPIRACY. The first episode begins with Abhijeet waking up at his home but finding himself in a weird state. He fails to remember what had happened the previous night and can only recollect some mysterious images as flashes from the past. He soon starts finding similarity to those images with a case of murder that the CID team tries to solve. In fear of getting misunderstood by ACP, he tries to hide the matter from the rest of the team and in the process, puts himself in more trouble. Though the killer confessed his crime but he committed suicide before describing whole incidents. CID team got few evidences that there were another person present in the crime spot. They could not trace that person. This one is just a precursor to another long series that has found a place in the list of some sensible officer centric cases. In the next case, ACP Pradyuman appoints a new cop, Aditi, to find that person. Aditi notices the loopholes that were present in the investigation of the previous murder case and starts suspecting her senior, Abhijeet, in the matter. Soon, she collects many evidences against him and puts them in front of ACP Pradyuman. The unrest in Abhijeet's mind, the suspense behind the real story, everything has been depicted perfectly in this one. Needless to say, a brilliant performance by the master of expressions, Mr.Aditya Srivastava! The 3rd & last case of this series begins with ACP Pradyuman suspending Abhijeet for lying to them about the previous murder case and also for being a suspect for murder. ACP Pradyuman suspends him. Aditi clearly indicates Abhijeet as a murderer & wants to search Abhijeet's house. The team searches Abhijeet's house but he is not there. In the meantime, Abhijeet witnesses a crime taking place in a godown and helps the CID team to solve the case. Here Dr Anjalika proves that the bullet shell found in Abhijeet's house is of Abhijeet's gun & it's also proved that Riya's murder has done with this bullet. But ACP can't believe this fact saying he is such a brilliant officer & the murderer Rajshekhar confessed his crime before dying then how can Abhijeet murder Riya. Aditi wants a hair sample from Abhijeet. Abhijeet becomes very angry. Aditi says that she is doing her duty only, in reply Abhijeet says CID ki kya duties hain yeh tumhe mujhe batane ki jarurat nehin. Aditi soon starts finding more evidences & Dr Anjalika proves that Abhijeet's hair matches with hairs found on the wooden rod which was found in Riya's house. So they assumed that Rajshekhar used Abhijeet's gun to kill Riya after hitting him on his head.

CASE OF MAN ON THE BUS aired on 15th & 22nd October, is one of best case where we see glimpse of duo's friendship. Apart from a gripping story, this episode brings us closer to the officers in person. Remembered more because of the famous Abhi-Daya interaction of "Dost to hum vi hein tumhare humhe to tumne aajtak kuch na diya". Man on Bus also brings a girl in Daya's life which later turns out to be a case of betrayal in a different episode. Shot in the beautiful locations of Malshej Ghat, the episode is a favorite of many CID fans across the globe, more because of the way the friendship between Abhijeet and Daya has been portrayed and also because it shows how the CID team risks their lives during investigations in order to reach out to the truth.

CASE OF DEADLY BETRAYAL aired on 29th October & 5th November. The episode showcases Daya's combat between his duty and emotions. Daya has recently befriended a girl, Sonali, and started getting emotionally attached to her. During an encounter of the CID team with a criminal, the criminal gets away due to Sonali's fault and Daya is blamed by ACP sir for bringing Sonali there. Criminals kidnap Daya in order to crack a drug deal. CID team tries to find Daya and reach a godown where Daya is kidnapped and Sonali is present. The team reveals Sonali's truth to Daya. Daya though emotionally hurt is strong enough to deal with the criminals and asks Sonali to go away. Abhijeet sends Sonali away saying she has already done enough damage to Daya. ACP sir advises Daya to take care of his wounds and be careful before befriending a girl to which Daya simply nods. Being high on emotions, this episode surely continues to remain one of the favorites for many CID fans even today.

INHERITANCE / C.I.D. 111 is an 2 hour special episode aired on 7th November. The episode that took CID into the Guinness Book of World Records, Inheritance or better known as CID 111, is surely one of the best episodes of CID. An uncut show of 111 minutes, a feat that is beyond imagination for an investigative show like CID, the episode was shot straight with several cameras capturing every angle. With some very popular faces of the industry like K. K. Menon, Rajendranath Zutshi and many others, this episode has a well structured story, a perfect direction (by B.P.Singh himself), and some of the best techniques used in CID ever. When it comes to performances, no one can beat our super cops and this episode proves just that.

CASE OF MURDER IN INTERROGATION ROOM aired on 10th & 17th December. A unique case of those times, where the entire CID team gets accused of a murder as a team! A man, who was being interrogated by CID in a closed room, dies all of a sudden and puts the team into trouble. To add to the situation, Dr.Anjalika puts all her efforts in trying to worsen the matter for CID. We also see Inspector Daksh trying to get hold of some evidences from the forensic lab and while doing so, he gets shot by Dr.Anjalika. Although by the end of the episode, CID team is proved innocent and successfully puts the real culprit behind bars, this episode has loads of surprises throughout!

2005 continues the trend of officer's personal life or they themselves become suspect of crime.

THE FINAL SHOWDOWN aired on 21st & 28th January, is the starting case of this trend. As the name suggests, it's the final call for Nakul, the son of ACP Pradyuman. Nakul is going for crime & as a father, ACP Pradyuman fails to stop him. Nakul kidnaps his father and tries to kill him, but he forgets that his father is the ACP Pradyuman. ACP catches his son but when tries to escape, he shoots him. But Nakul's body is not found. While a cop shoots a criminal, a father becomes devastated!

CASE OF ENGRAVED RICE GRAINS aired on 15th, 22nd & 29th April. Being shot in the beautiful locations of Rajasthan, the episode is filled with some interesting twists and turns. This was the first time that CID was shot outside the state of Maharasthra! There are loads of action sequences but the chase scene between a criminal and Daya in the midst of the blue city deserves special mention. This is one episode where there was a perfect utilization of the beauty of the episode location without compromising on the quality of story, which seems to be absent nowadays. Singh Sir's photography deserves a round of applause for this one.

CASE OF STOLEN RING aired on 6th & 13th May. An ordinary case but the special touch is added by the presence of Vikram, a young child who claims to be Abhijeet's son. We come to know that Vikram is Pantela's son, who was once accused of murder and Abhijeet had promised Pantela not to reveal his truth to his son. To use it as an advantage, some robbers tell Vikram to stick to Abhijeet always during his duty hours and keep them informed about his whereabouts. Vikram being unaware of the consequences, does as asked to in the hope that they would help him meet his parents. The robbers succeed in their plans and manage to steal the precious diamond ring in spite of tight security provided by CID. The blame goes to Vikram, because it was him who removed the ring from the container using his yo-yo. However, CID team solves the case very soon and catches the real culprits. The highlight of the episode is the interaction between Abhijeet and Vikram. How a tough cop like Abhijeet can be soft hearted at the same time is perfectly revealed through his relationship with Vikram. By the end of the episode, Abhijeet gets emotionally attached to the child although in the initial days he only thought him to be a burden. One would never want to miss the touching and sweet scenes in the episode.

CASE OF KILLER LAKE aired on 20th & 27th May. This episode starts with a death of a criminal in the interrogation room. Criminal has a blood wound on his jaw. Daya is blamed for the same. Doctor calls media. Dr. Anjalika claims that Daya has killed the criminal as she has found Daya's blood on criminal's shirt which actually came from Daya's fist which is bruised. Daya to save himself calls up Dr. Salunkhe. Meanwhile Dr. Anjalika meets DCP and tells him that it is Daya who has killed the criminal and the CID team will save him somehow. Dr. Salunkhe interrupts saying he needs to check the body. In the meanwhile Abhijeet is sceptical about the happenings. There are a lot of processions against Daya in DCP's office. Thus he comes to the bureau and gives a paper to ACP sir. It is Daya's suspension letter. ACP sir declares that Daya is suspended and asks for his badge and gun. With a heavy heart Daya gives away his gun and the batch.

CASE OF STAGED MURDER aired on 3rd & 10th June. The episode begins with an extremely tensed Daya. When Dr. Salunkhe comes to meet him, he asks for a gun saying he wants to show something. He then puts the gun towards his head and pulls the trigger. Thankfully Dr. Salunkhe uses first bullet blank, which only has sound and no fire. He asks Daya to meet ACP sir as he has saved an officer earlier in a similar case. The next scene shows that on one side there are people like Daksh who refuses to stand by his senior's side whereas on the other side there is Abhijeet who promises to help him whenever needed and shows full faith in Daya. It's again one of the most famous episodes thanks to some brilliant performances by the cops, some perfect characterizations of the CID characters and of course, the brilliant portrayal of Abhijeet-Daya friendship. Towards the end, we see how Dr. Salunkhe helps Daya come out of the trap and proves his innocence in front of the court. We also see one of the best forensic scenes in this episode by none other than Dr Salunkhe. The clash between Dr. Anjalika and Dr. Salunkhe during the court scenes deserves special mention! In the end, no one can forget the confession of ACP Pradyuman to his junior - tumhare begar CID chal sakti hei yeh main soch vi nehin sakta hoon'.

ABHIJEET SAWANT UNDER ARREST aired on 17th & 24th June. The first Indian Idol, Abhijeet Sawant, becomes the suspect of a murder case. However, the CID team goes deep into the matter, solves the case, and finds the real culprit. For CID fans though, the episode is better known for the first scene where Abhijeet and Daya are shown playing badminton with each other and having a light conversation following that.

CODE NAME BANJARA aired on 1st & 8th July. One of the hyped episodes of those times "Code name Banjara" manages to build an atmosphere of suspense since Scene 1. From an unconscious Abhijeet in a jungle to Daksh's suspicious behavior, and from a severely injured Daya to ACP Pradyuman getting shot towards the end, there remains a mystery in almost every part of the case. Daksh, whose character was kept under scanner since his entry into CID, was shown in the dark light throughout the episode and was depicted as a traitor. However, all is shown to be well as it ends well. The scene where an injured Daya try to reveal the traitor in the CID team to ACP and Abhijeet deserves a special mention thanks to the amazing performances by our trio! Brilliant is the word.

MAN EATER aired on 29th July & 5th August. The episode is about a man-eater played by Makrand Deshpande. It's one of those cases where once again a CID officer risks her life in order to catch the criminal. In this case, it was Aditi who gets kidnapped by the man-eater. Thanks to her brave efforts and for the team's super investigative skills, many lives get saved including Aditi's and the man-eater is put behind bars. The team's concern for their team member is perfectly portrayed here!

MAD BOMBER aired on 12th to 19th August, is one of cross-over cases with CID Special Bureau where both the team worked together to solve a case. It's the case about a crazy bomber who is on a devastation spree! It's remembered more because it marks the end of an efficient CID officer, Aditi. She sacrifices herself for the sake of other innocent lives and successfully finishes the bomber at the same time. With an emotional ending, this episode is a clear example of how CID officers sacrifice themselves in the name of duty. Also, in the end we see the other cops shedding tears on the loss of their dear colleague.

FACE OFF aired on 21st October to 11th November. One of the longest and hyped series of this era, Face off begins with the introduction of higher authorities in CID, including DCP and DIG. ACP Pradyuman was suspected to be indulging in criminal activities in association with his terrorist son-Nakul. However, Abhijeet and Daya's trust in their ACP and their loyalty towards him turns out to be the highlight of the series. Their loyalty is put under test by DIG Shamsher Singh who offers the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Abhijeet on the condition that he has to help him finish ACP Pradyuman off. To this, Abhijeet refuses bluntly and he along with Daya stands by ACP throughout. ACP shoots Daksh & goes abroad to find Nakul while a lady officer named Anushka helps him a lot & she gets in touch with ACP. The series also brings in a new ACP in CID for the very first time, which was essayed by the very talented Rajeev Khandelwal.

TRAIL IN LONDON aired on 18th to 25th November. For the first time, CID goes international! Shot on the ancient streets of London, this episode is a continuation to the Face Off series. With ACP Pradyuman looking for the whereabouts of his terrorist son Nakul in London, the CID team is headed with a new ACP. At the same time, Abhijeet and Daya remain concerned about ACP and his mysterious actions. Daksh is killed by Nakul in the hospital in the beginning of the series. The end of this episode marks with the scene of Nakul being shot by ACP Pradyuman. DIG Samsher praises ACP & ACP says - sir maine pehle vi kaha hei dil chahe kitna vi kanpe goli chalate waqt haath kapna nehin chahiye! It shows how a cops wins before a father! Duty always comes first! Hats off to ACP Pradyuman!

2006 starts with bang, yes CID turns into 1 hr show in March. The first 1Hr episode is RETURN OF JEWEL THIEF, aired on 10th March. In this episode, one can see Aman Verma in the role of a thief who very perfectly steals a precious jewel from a well-secured exhibition. The story focuses on how the thief challenges ACP Pradyuman and asks him to hand over a certain amount of money in return of a child whom he had kidnapped. Duo at the gym followed by the depiction of ACP's anger on the team's failure to catch the culprit is some of the highlighting elements of the episode that one can watch it for.

CASE OF KILLER DREAM aired on 31st March, which later renamed as the YEH PHOOL CHAMAN MEIN KAISA KHILA. This episode is famous because we can see trio singing together for the first time ever. Further, the case takes a very interesting turn when Abhijeet gets hypnotized and in order to bring him back to his senses, ACP Pradyuman slaps him! This one also has a scene where one of the officers, Anushka, gets hypnotized by a doctor accidentally and risks her life. Abhijeet and Daya try their level best to save her and successfully bring her back to her senses.

CASE OF BABY KILLER is another memorable case aired on 7th April. This case is all about a baby and how the CID team finds the murderer of his mother. A very interesting case, but to add to that, the episode offers some very special moments between the kid and the officers. Even the quick-tempered ACP Pradyuman becomes a child with the child. The ones whom every criminal fears, struggle to handle a small baby! With some extremely sweet and funny moments, this case surely is the one to watch out for.

SECRET OF CODE NO 571E1115 aired on 19th May. Known to be one of the most loved episodes of CID, it shows how the CID team decodes the secret a code and saves the city from a severe virus attack. It's one of those episodes, which is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. From watching the ACP solving the interesting code, to the Duo's brave chase in order to dispose-off the virus bomb, followed by the famous dialogue by Dr. Niyati - "Aap hi ke tarah ziddi aur iraade ke pakke hain aapke officers, kahin faulad ke to nehin bane!" or be it ACP's concern for his favorite officers, the episode has everything that a CID fan would love to watch!

CID UNDERCOVER aired on 2nd June. CID is known for its disguise scenes, and no other episode has a better dose of disguises than this one especially in that era! Starting with ACP as an old gentleman followed by Abhijeet as a lawyer in one scene to a waiter in another or be it as Muskaan's husband in the next or finally Daya as a handsome hunk, this one has it all! Apart from an intriguing story about smuggling of drugs, the episode has one more surprise element, and that of course is the presence of Abhijeet Satam (Shivaji Satam's son) essaying the character of a police officer who initially suspects ACP Pradyuman for a murder but later realizes that he was wrong and helps them in solving the case.

MONSOON MYSTERY aired on 30th June. The episode begins with ACP Pradyuman shouting on Freddy for an unacceptable mistake that he had done by getting drunk on duty. On top of it, Freddy continues to argue with ACP and tries to defend himself. This angers ACP even further. He asks Daya to check if Freddy was still drunk and also search the latter thoroughly and see if he finds any bottle of alcohol in his pocket. Daya, although disappointed with Freddy's actions, saves him from further humiliation and severe actions against him from being taken. Although many would agree with the arguments provided by Freddy in this episode, one cannot deny that his actions were absolutely not acceptable. At the same time, Daya's soft-hearted nature towards his colleagues is perfectly portrayed here. For this scene episode always be remembered by fans. Especially that dialogue of Freddy sir strikes directly our heart - ...magar 9 saal se yeh yes sir no sir ke ilawa maine kiya kya hei! So true! The fans feel the dialogue speaks the mind of Dinesh Phandis! The CVs should think about it.

KILLER IN THE JUNGLE aired on 28th July. Starting from the very first scene at the bureau, this episode has endless moments that will make you laugh! Be it Abhijeet imitating ACP Pradyuman's evil laugh or be it the conversations at the forensic lab with Dr.Niyati, this episode has a charm of its own. To see your favorite cops smiling and having a great time is surely a treat for every CID fan. The episode also shows that Abhijeet has the ability to shoot on the target hearing the sound only.

MYSTERIOUS GIFT aired on 4th August is a remarkable episode especially for Abhijeet's fans. A lady claims to be the wife of Abhijeet's old friend. She demands for the gift that her husband had handed over to Abhijeet before committing suicide some months ago. However, Abhijeet refuses to have a clue of any such gift. It's about how the CID team solves the mystery of the gift and also of the deaths that take place in the meantime. Apart from that, the episode showcases the relationship that Abhijeet shares with ACP Pradyuman and also with Daya. "Maana k ACP sir gussa karte hain, par pyaar bhi to karte hain" - This dialogue by Daya to Abhijeet while convincing the latter to return to the bureau emphasizes the concept of the episode perfectly! This one has some nice ACP-Abhijeet-Daya moments to offer.

TRAITORS IN CID aired on 18th August, is the first ever episode based on the formula of YSPT (YEH SAB PLAN THA). The episode begins with Abhijeet taking a decision of fighting a group of terrorists on the basis of a tip - off in ACP's absence. During the shootout, Muskaan gets kidnapped by the terrorists. How Abhijeet and Daya go against ACP's wishes and try to save their kidnapped colleague by agreeing to the terrorists' demands and in the meantime losing their job for the same, that's exactly what the story goes on to show. In spite of YSPT, it is surely one of the more sensible ones in CID history.

RETURN OF DEAD MAN aired on 8th September. Better remembered as the case of Taipan Snake, the episode has some of the very nice moments between the team members. The episode begins with Freddy dreaming while sitting in the office and imagining himself to be promoted as the ACP, ordering his subordinates Abhijeet and Daya. Apart from this one, the disguise scene needs a special mention, in which we see the officers try different looks. When Daya gets dressed as a woman, Abhijeet has a good laugh about him! With some very nice performances and some light moments, this episode also offers an interesting story.

A very remarkable case of all time especially for Daya sir's fans is MOTORCYCLE THIEF aired on 22nd September. The CID team is given a robbery case to solve where a thief on a motorcycle robs some banks in just a few minutes. After a lot of investigation, they manage to identify the robber. However, the episode is marked more important because during the chase scene between the robber and Daya, the latter meets with an accident in real life and fractures his leg which leads him to take a short break from the show. A very unfortunate incident, but this one goes on to show how dedicated our favorite actors are who give their 100% efforts towards the show and also do most of the stunts all by themselves.

CASE OF KILLER EYES aired on 29th September, is yet another remarkable case for CID fans. Although not an officer centric case, this episode needs a special mention because it marks the entry of Vivek. Vivek has been one of the most loved junior officers in CID and this episode perfectly brings him into everyone's notice. An avid listener who very soon manages to rise above his fears and weaknesses and fulfill his duty, that's how he is portrayed in the very first case of his career.

SECRET OF SCORPIONS aired on 13th October, marks the return of Daya to CID after his injury during the shoot of Motorcycle Thief. A wonderful light conversation takes place between the team members - ACP, Abhijeet, Daya, Freddy, and Vivek on Daya's return to the bureau after so long. It seems so real and natural that one would mistake it to be a conversation between Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dayanand Shetty, Dinesh Phadnis, and Viivek Mashru instead of the reel life characters. One could easily say that the smiles on their faces were all real and no acting. Also, it depicts how the actors get so involved with the show, that in spite of not being fully fit, they try to be a part of the show even if it means to be with clutches as support! Hats off to such dedication, really! Watch it for the one scene that is mentioned above, and be sure to be all smiles throughout it.

FLASHBACK aired on 15 December. Survi, a probable witness to a murder in a shopping mall, turns out to recognize Sr.Inspector Abhijeet, but the latter seems to have no clue of her. The episode takes us back to Abhijeet's past, prior to the unfortunate incident that had taken place years ago and which had resulted into a complete memory loss for him. When CID comes to know that Survi's daughter's life was in danger, CID team solves the mystery and saves the child. "Flashback" as the name suggests, perfectly takes the audience through an emotional ride if seen from Abhijeet's point of view. How his mysterious past still haunts him in his present and how he deals with it.

This is one of the best eras of CID in terms of some lovely bonding among the Fab 5 of CID - that is ACP Pradyuman, Abhijeet, Daya, Freddie and Dr Salunkhe. Dr Salunkhe who left CID in 2003 was seen in a couple of episodes in 2004, but it was during 2007 that he returned back to CID as a full time forensic doctor and he's there till date. During this era, Freddie and Vivek shared a lovely junior-senior bond which usually involved Vivek playing pranks on Freddie. The lady cop during most of this era was Muskaan, followed by Devyana, Lavanya, Kaveri and Tasha. Muskaan in particular had a nice chemistry with Abhijeet and Daya. It was during this time that CID introduced some casual scenes among the officers to lighten the mood and bring smiles to the viewers' faces. This era also had occasional officer-centric stories which showed a peek into their personal lives. Few highlighted cases of F A B 5 E R A are the following :

A very notable episode came on 16th February in name of CASE OF BOMB ROBBERY. The episode is always remembered for one of the most touching scenes of all time. In this episode a revengeful lady (played by Ansha Sayed, who is now playing the role of Inspector Purvi) places a bomb in a hall and the CID team has no way of defusing it. ACP Pradyuman calls for a helicopter and decides to personally go and drop the bomb in the sea, but his trusted lieutenants Abhijeet and Daya refuse to let ACP risk his life. They express their respect towards the ACP and say that his life is much more precious than theirs. They carry the bomb away in the helicopter but before they drop it into the sea the bomb explodes. Everyone thinks that they are dead, but towards the end it is revealed that they managed to jump out into the sea before the bomb exploded. The team is overwhelmed to find the two alive and smiling. ACP Pradyuman welcomes them back shedding tears of happiness and reveals his fondness for his juniors, Abhijeet and Daya. ACP's watery eyes and Daya's dialogue "Sir, hum itni asaani se marne waale nahi hain" surely bring goosebumps to every CIDian.

Another prominent case came on 9th March named CASE OF DANGEROUS LADY. In this episode Dr Salunkhe returns back to CID in his new avatar with hair on his head (he was bald during 1999-2005). The problem & confusion comes when Dr Salunkhe & Dr Niyati give totally different opinions about the murder but later both of them are proved correct as the number of murder turns into 2, twin brother-sister duo of Arav and Indu murdering single men in pubs, because a guy in a pub had in the past drugged Indu and molested her. Abhijeet and Daya visit different pubs to catch Indu in disguises and almost get killed at her hands but the team saves them.

Another notable case of the year came on 23rd March named CASE OF HEADLESS CORPSE. This episode has some amusing interaction between Abhijeet and the lady forensic expert Dr Niyati. The case shows a culprit being caught with the help of an unlikely clue - a cut-out crossword section in a newspaper. Dr Niyati is impressed by Abhijeet's detective skills while analysing the paper-cutting and says that she feels like kissing him, leaving Abhijeet shocked. In a later scene, Dr Niyati shows off her forensic intelligence to which Abhijeet gives an almost equivalent reply, much to the annoyance of ACP Pradyuman and amusement of Daya. The episode is made memorable by these little interactions and expressions of the trio and Dr Niyati.

Dr Salunkhe again came back with a bang in CID AT RANSOM on 30th March. This episode starts off with Dr Salunkhe throwing a party on his building terrace due to his avatar with hair. But the party turns into a hostage situation when Robin D'Souza armed with grenades gatecrashes into the party and demands the release of his brother Mark. Robin forgot due to his mind problems that Mark was already hanged. Abhijeet and Daya pull off some breathtaking stunts, traveling from a neighbouring building to Salunkhe's terrace by means of a rope and save ACP, Salunkhe and the other guests.

Another memorable episode of 2007 is CASE OF TALKING PARROT on 25th May which shows the strong bond of the team specially trio. It starts off with a burnt, unrecognizable dead body and it is assumed to be that of Abhijeet, who was away on an investigative mission. Later it is revealed that Abhijeet is alive and is kidnapped by drug smugglers. One of the best scenes in the episode is when Abhijeet flirts with the lady kidnapper (played by Jaswir Kaur who later went on to play sub-inspector Kajal) and tries to annoy her. Another lovely scene was when Dr Salunkhe reveals to ACP that the burnt dead body is not of Abhijeet's. The episode ends with CID team arresting the drug dealers with the help of the voice recorded in a toy parrot.

CASE OF MURDEROUS AFFAIR on 22nd June is a remarkable case of all time specially due to Daya's perspective. In this episode the principal of Mamta Foundation Orphanage School murders the parents who had adopted children from his orphanage when the children write to him saying that their mothers were having extra-marital affairs and that they were not happy with them. Daya notices the imprint of Mamta Foundation's badge on a dead woman's hand and is disturbed. Abhijeet interrogates Daya, realizing that Daya knows something about the murderer but is hiding information. That's when Daya reveals to Abhijeet that he is an orphan and was brought up at the same orphanage. The case ends with the principal jumping off the terrace of a building, leaving Daya shattered. This episode always makes fans confused about Daya's personal life because previously it was shown he has brother & sister but it is not cleared that all of them are orphan or not. The creative team of CID fails to show properly the personal life of cops.

REVENGE OF CRIMINAL [27th July] is an interesting episode where Abhijeet wakes up one morning to find himself clad in a towel in an unknown hotel room with a dead woman on the bed. He escapes from the hotel, knowing that he would be suspected of murdering the woman and decides to find the truth on his own. ACP Pradyuman as usual scolds Abhijeet a lot in spite of his absence. The CID team fail to find Abhijeet but in the end Abhijeet catches the real culprit and then reveals himself to his team. ACP gives a proud look to Abhijeet. The episode ends with Daya welcoming Abhijeet back with a warm handshake.

DON'S FINAL REVENGE [10th August] episode marks the entry of forensic expert Dr Tarika (who is in the forensic team till date) and Insp Devyana (who was scared of blood and dead bodies). This episode shows a Don (played by Shahbaaz Khan) tricking Abhijeet and Daya into believing that ACP Pradyuman in danger by mimicking ACP's voice. There's a Bollywood style fight scene towards the end and the Don is finally killed in a blast.

CASE OF INSPECTOR DAYA'S ABDUCTION [7th September] is another remarkable episode of 2007. In this episode Insp Daya is kidnapped and imprisoned in a glass enclosure with a pressure bomb under his foot which would explode if he lifted his foot. Daya is unable to move and the enclosure has limited oxygen. The CID team receives a video footage showing Daya's condition. How Daya survives in the enclosure with depleting oxygen levels and how the team finally rescues him makes it a nail-biting thriller.

EK LAPATA LADKI [21st December] episode is memorable because of some lovely casual scenes between ACP, Abhijeet and Daya. The episode starts with Abhijeet and Daya jogging on the beach when Daya gets a call and leaves. Abhijeet continues jogging when he sees a lady crying for help. He tries to rescue her by diving into the sea but by the time he reaches her, the girl vanishes. How the CID team find this mysterious girl is the central theme of this episode. One of the most hilarious scenes is when Abhijeet tells the boyfriend of the missing girl 'humne bhi pyar kiya hai', to which ACP sir gives a million-dollar expression.

The year of 2008 had very few officer-centric cases and most of the episodes were investigative type & there were hardly few remarkable episodes. Kaveri and Lavanya were the lady cops duetting most of this year. Some of the noteworthy episodes of 2008 are as follows.

KHOON BHARI HOLI [21st March] is the first ever episode based on the occasion of Holi. It shows a little girl Divya roaming alone on the streets and a lady brings her to the CID team. The CID team finds the mother of Divya dead in her house. Daya discovers that Divya's mother is Morisa, his friend in college who had sought his help against her abusive husband but had vanished before he helped her. Daya regrets not being able to prevent her death. In the end, in a Holi party the CID team finds that the killer of Morisa is none other than her husband. He is sent to jail and Daya adopts Divya. But unfortunately nothing is shown about Divya after this episode till date.

TWISTED FAMILY, WEDDING JITTER, MYSTERIOUS MASK, BAD BLOOD [2-23 May] - These four episodes in sequence is important because they showed a romantic track involving Abhijeet and Shruti, the widow of his friend Viren. Abhijeet is about to go to work one day when Shruti and her little daughter Beanie arrive at his doorstep. Shruti tells Abhijeet that Viren is dead and she has nowhere to go, and asks for permission to stay in his house for a few days. Though initially hesitant, Abhijeet lets her stay in his house where his Kaki too lives. Gradually Shruti finds in him a shoulder to cry on and Abhijeet starts getting attracted towards her. Shruti too grows fond of Abhijeet. Abhijeet tells Daya that he's thinking of marrying Shruti and asks for Daya's opinion. Before the conversation reaches a conclusion Abhijeet notices Shruti's husband Viren on the street. He asks Daya to stop the vehicle and tries to find Viren, but he's gone. Abhijeet is shocked and heartbroken at the sudden turn of events and tells Shruti that Viren is alive. Shruti begs Abhijeet to find Viren. An experienced CID officer that he is, Abhijeet finds the whereabouts of Viren and comes to know that Viren would visit a particular bar at night. Abhijeet goes to the bar with Daya for company. While waiting for Viren, Abhijeet confesses to Daya that he's still in love with Shruti, but he was mentally preparing himself to forget about her. Soon Viren arrives and Abhijeet takes him to Shruti. Viren tells Abhijeet about how he was deep in gambling debts and how a goon was after his life. Abhijeet assures him that he'll set everything right. With the help of Daya and Fredericks, Abhijeet arrests the gambling den gang. The 4 episode series ends with Viren and Shruti leaving for their home. Abhijeet thanks Daya for all the support he had given, to which Daya says that he would do anything for him and leaves Abhijeet alone. A heartbroken Abhijeet throws away the ring he had bought when he was planning to propose to Shruti. This series was special because it showed that a tough cop like Abhijeet could fall in love and it also showed how Daya supported Abhijeet through his mental turmoil. Moreover, it's a very mature romantic track ever in the CID which is appreciated by the fans.

CRIME TARGET: ACP PRADYUMAN [27th June] The episode opens with a rather hilarious scene as the duo, Vivek, and Kaveri pull Freddy's leg with relation to his wife. ACP Pradyuman joins the leg pulling when Freddy's wife phones. Later a boy, Rohit, attempts suicide and the team just save him. This news is reported and a journalist comes to meet ACP Pradyuman suggesting that it was a farce. Meanwhile, a man is murdered and the team realize the wife is still alive. As the investigation continues, the wife asks to meet ACP Pradyuman alone. When ACP Pradyuman reaches the site, the journalist is waiting there, and just then the wife gets kidnapped. ACP Pradyuman goes after them and gets captured as well. The team is worried for ACP Pradyuman and go about trying to find him, while the goons who kidnapped the girl hang ACP Pradyuman. The team arrive just in time and save him, though he is badly injured and is unable to speak. The wife is taken away again. The team trace the kidnappers again and there is a huge fight in which Vivek gets shot in the shoulder. The wife shoots the 2 kidnappers and this is when ACP Pradyuman realizes that the wife was involved in everything. She reveals herself to be a terrorist's wife who the team killed (The Don's Final Revenge) and she had come back to take revenge from ACP Pradyuman.

The rest of the episodes are investigative type. Though there is nothing noteworthy but few episodes shows very good investigation by the team. 2009 is not so different from 2008 as the trend continues. It's good that the CVs focused more on investigations. Another noteworthy fact is team bond gradually flourishing day by day. Some of the noteworthy episodes of 2009 are as follows.

The first notable episode of 2009 is EK RAHASYMAY LAASH aired on 12th June. It marks the entry S.I. Tasha in CID. She enters in disguise to catch hold of a criminal but is trapped in drugs raid conducted by Abhijeet, Daya, and the Mumbai Police. A clean chit to Tasha and overflowing happiness of Vivek was added charm to the episode.

Then on 14th August, a 2hr episode named BEHERUPIYA aired. It is considered as one of the best episode in the history of CID. The episode shows a criminal Rocky taking Abhijeet's face to enter CID to kill ACP Pradyuman. Daya knowing his buddy better is adamant that this is not the same Abhjeet that he knew. Daya puts all his efforts and brings back the original Abhijeet against Rocky. Boiling in anger Rocky points gun at ACP Pradyuman and the entire team. However in the combat Rocky ends up shooting Daya and in turn gets shot by Abhijeet. Daya is rushed to the hospital. Abhijeet blames himself for making Daya fight for his life. ACP repents for not listening to Daya as when he tried to alert ACP sir about Abhijeet. The doctor declares that Daya has lost too much blood and will not be able to survive for long. Abhijeet, the strong CID officer, breaks down and is not able to control his tears. ACP tries to act strong, but knows he would not be able to handle the loss that he would face soon. Freddie cries like a baby looking at Daya's condition. Dr.Salunkhe and the rest of the team is disheartened as well. Daya holding hands tight with ACP sir and Abhijeet remembers his journey in CID before closing his eyes. It's a remarkable episode where fans feel with thrill & suspense, enjoy the disguise & action while becomes emotional in last hospital scene. But no one fan can forget superb acting of Aditya Srivastava as Rocky & his shocking dialogue - 'Daya to gaya'!

The loyal fans were tortured one week to see what would happen with their beloved Daya sir. At last LAPATA LADKIYAAN came on 21st August with a happy note. It is cherished as the comeback episode of Insp. Daya. The episode starts with extremely emotional CID team who has just lost their beloved teammate - Daya. Abhijeet is still unable to believe that his dearest friend is gone. In the meanwhile Freddy notices a slight movement in Daya's toe. He immediately informs the team and soon Daya is given an injection in his heart as directed by Dr. Salunkhe. He starts reviving. In the meantime ACP sir gets a call for a case and they have to leave Daya in the unconscious condition with Freddy and rush for the case. Everyone works on the case with their minds still wandering in the hospital around Daya. Abhijeet gets a call from Freddy and soon Abhijeet and ACP sir move to hospital. It was Daya sitting on the bed smiling. Abhijeet and ACP sir are happy to see him in this state. Though they become very angry that Freddy fooled them yet agree that Freddy's tough body has a loving heart as well. Abhijeet gets a call about the case and Daya is all set to join the team for investigation however ACP scolds him and asks him to take rest. Meanwhile in sometime Daya makes a stylish entry in the bureau and resumes his duty. ACP sir and Abhijeet are too happy to express. His ever enthusiasm to resume the duties makes them laugh even more.

After such blockbuster episodes, there were 2 normal khooni stories & after that KHOONI PIRACY RACKET aired on 11th September. This episode is marked as Salman Khan's first promotional entry in CID for his movie WANTED. The CID team found a dead body. While investigating they find out that the man was actually a private detective and found a DVD of the movie Wanted which is yet to release. CID team approaches Salman to make him aware about the piracy. CID team finds a suspect who is contract killer. Daya goes to a video parlour to find him. Abhijeet in disguise goes to find the roots of the piracy racket. Abhijeet is taken to a lonely place, however, since the DVD is not available there criminals blindfold him and take him to Colaba. Suddenly a shootout breaks up between CID cops and the criminals. Abhijeet is still in disguise and the criminals feel he is with them, however, he suddenly confronts them and arrests them. It turned out the BEST ever movie promotional episode till date. The episode ended with Salman burning the pirated copies of Wanted.

Another notable episode came naming KHOONI DANDIYA on 25th September. A man, Aditya is murdered amidst Navaratri crowd in front of his girlfriend Nisha, Some distance away another dead body is found, a supari killer Kaalia. The man who killed Aditya is already murdered as the dead body has a gun. However Dr. Salunkhe says that the unknown person is killed before Aditya. The team finds out the place from where the katta is brought. Aditya has taken debt with from someone. Daya and Freddy find out that Aditya had another girlfriend named Tripti. ACP sir and Tasha go to Nisha's house however she is absent. Tasha in a style breaks open the door in absence of Daya. Nisha's brother had given Supari to Tiger and not Kalia. Daya confronts Tiger and bashes him nicely. Tiger agreed that he killed Kaalia but not Aditya. Abhijeet and Tasha are disguised as Rajasthani couple. He asks for a Desi katta to a paanwala and he gives him a address of katta seller. ACP sir and Daya come is an amazing disguise of goons to buy the katta. They catch hold of the criminals. The katta seller recognizes Aditya as the one who purchased the katta. At the end the culprit, Nisha is caught.

An all time remarkable episode aired on 2nd October named NANHI GAVAH. The episode shows a soft and emotional side of a tough cop, Sr. Insp. Abhijeet. While investigating a lady's murder case, Abhijeet finds a small girl, Shreya hiding inside the cabinet of the house. She is the victim's daughter. CID team tries to make her speak but she looks absolutely terrified. Abhijeet takes her home gives her the love and care. He tries to feed her, divert her mind and make her smile but she doesn't speak a word. While investigating Daya finds out that the child is deaf and dumb. Abhijeet is shocked to learn this. Daya then calls a sign language tutor to communicate with her. Abhijeet apologises to her repeatedly asking her to speak however she says that it's okay and Abhijeet is a very nice man. In the end, CID catches the culprit. Abhijeet has now decided to adopt her. The team is spending time with her when Shreya's uncle comes to the bureau to take her home. Abhijeet protests against this but ACP sir and Daya convince him to give away the girl. Abhijeet with a heavy heart promises the girl to meet every Sunday and sends her with her uncle.

The next prominent episode was HAPPY DIWALI, a 2 Hrs Diwali Special aired on 16th October. This episode begins with CID team celebrating Diwali. They are invited to house for Diwali party where a murder happens. A clue is found in the dead body where the victim is challenging CID team. The team find out that the criminals are targeting a judge who is ACP sir's friend. Team go there in disguise to provide protection to him - Daya sir as driver, Tasha as maid, Vivek and Freddy as Housekeepers. Alas the bomb reaches the judge and he dies. While in attempt to find out CID team discovers that the suspect is one of the old criminal convicted by the judge. Abhijeet further investigates the matter and finds out that the real culprit is someone else. Daya, Tasha and ACP sir are at a function. This time target is ACP sir because in past that criminal was caught by ACP sir & now he is taking revenge. In right time Daya saves ACP sir from the criminal and arrests him.

RAAZ LAPATA KIDNEY aired on 20th November, based on a very real crime of our society. CID comes across an illegal kidney transplant racket. Abhijeet and Tarika disguise as husband and wife takes a flat on rent. The flat broker is a suspect in the racket. Abhijeet as Meet speaks in total Punjabi accent with Dr. Tarika as Preet his wife. When the two go to select a flat, Meet is drugged. He is immediately taken to the hospital. Daya, on the other hand, is disguised as a patient's brother comes to the same hospital. Abhijeet is taken to the operation theatre. ACP sir disguised as Abhijeet's dad with Preet aka Tarika wait for the criminals to catch red handed. Daya gets emotionally outraged when the team is not able to find Abhijeet. They reach an operation theatre where the team is worried about Abhijeet's condition when Abhijeet pulls off his doctor's mask and unmasks the criminal. The episode is always remembered due to these apt disguises.

BAAL MAZDOORI aired on 27th November. The name of the episode says it all. The episode begins with nice chit chat between Abhijeet and Daya in the Qualis. CID team finds a dead body of a little girl, her fingers are full of explosive which means she is working in a factory. A couple and a nanny come to bureau come report that their kid Payal is abducted. While a young boy has a fight with his parents and thus runs to Mumbai. The kids are abducted and brought to a fireworks making factor for child labour. Two kids try to run away but are captured by the criminals. CID team reaches a under construction factory but find no one. However kids have left few signs for CID. The team follows it and catch hold of the criminals.

This year's last notable episode, AAWAAZEIN aired on 18th December. A woman falls from a height in the mall and dies. CID team is helping out Dr. Tarika in shifting as she has shifted to a new house. The lady who dies in the mall has a kid as well who is found in car parking. Abhijeet saves the kid from getting under a car. Tarika looks lost in the bureau. In the house, Tarika hears some voices, while CID team find about the husband of the dead lady. They further go to a theatre for investigation where they find another dead body. Tarika looks lost again while investigating. Her hands shiver. Someone comes and tries to burn certain things in the lab. Abhijeet and Daya catch hold of the person. It's Dr. Tarika. CID team interrogates her but she is not able to answer any of the questions. Then she confesses that she hears someone calling out for her in her house. CID team finds a hidden mike and speakers in Tarika's room and comes to a conclusion that she has been hypnotized. Finally CID team trace the criminal and catch hold of him.

2010 came with new hope specially when fans came to know that CID soon turned bi-weekly. Before that we saw few fantastic episodes. The CID Gallantry Award introduced & the fans started in touch with their stars.

First time CID telecast its Anniversary special episode - ACP PRADYUMAN GIRAFTAAR on 29th January. This was a high-tension giving episode even before it started. Sony showed a shocking promo of Abhijeet arresting ACP which led to all sorts of speculations in the fan world, since this was the first of its kind. The episode prior to this Zehreelee Laashein ended with Abhijeet receiving a call from one of his informers telling him that ACP was sheltering a terrorist friend in his house and an angry Abhijeet rushing into the bureau and arresting ACP. The story continued in the next episode with a dead body found in ACP's house, proving Abhijeet's allegations. When Abhijeet and Daya interrogated ACP, ACP points a gun at Abhijeet and Daya and in defence, Abhijeet shot at ACP Pradyuman. ACP was shown to die on the spot. The investigation continued with Abhijeet and Daya trying to find out who was the unknown terrorist. It was soon proved by Dr Salunkhe that the unknown person in ACP's house was not killed by ACP Pradyuman. Everyone becomes shocked & the media gives the allegation to Abhijeet that he intentionally killed ACP Pradyuman as he wants to be the next ACP. Freddy & Vivek tried to revive ACP by using defibrillator but Daya stopped them to do so. Suddenly ACP's body vanished from the forensic lab and Dr Salunkhe blamed Daya particularly for it. That terrorist became aware of CID's investigation & sometime brought changes in his plan. It was soon revealed that he took shelter in Freddy's house & Freddy's wife becomes the hostage. From Manisha, the terrorist came to know about the action plan of CID, but CID soon realized it & rushed to Freddy's house where Manisha was found unconscious. In the end, the terrorist is about to bomb a high-profile scientists' meeting when ACP reveals that he's not dead and he had played dead to catch the terrorist red-handed. Duo apologized to ACP for their misbehaviour with him & the episode ended with smiling faces.

Next remarkable episode was the Holi Special Episode aired on 5th March named KHOON KI HOLI. It was one of the most thrilling episodes of 2010. The episode started with a man dying in a Holi party and CID team arrived to investigate. Suddenly a group of thieves entered and took the entire group of people including the CID team hostage, asking the host of the party to bring 10 crore rupees from his office. How the CID team solves the murder case and also prevents the theft of 10crore rupees makes this episode an all-time thriller with great screenplay. Few scenes are noteworthy, for example - Abhijeet's clever tricks at the garage followed by the disguise of one the theft named Sonu, team's counter attack plan & failed due to one hostage there followed by the theft shot Daya.

Another remarkable officer centric episode aired on 19th March named SR INSPECTOR ABHIJEET. This is a very emotional episode with awesome acting performances by the entire CID team. Here Abhijeet was accused of murdering 2 men, one of the murders happened 15 years back. These 2 men unfortunately happened to be brothers of Purvi (not to be confused with the present Insp Purvi) who was in a relationship with Daya. Purvi asked Daya to arrest Abhijeet and when Daya told her that he cannot arrest anyone without evidence, she accused Daya of shielding a criminal because of friendship. Daya was torn between his best friend and his girlfriend. ACP also suspected Abhijeet & his blood test was done in the forensic lab where everyone was looking tensed & Abhijeet was proved innocent of one murder happened recently. Abhijeet, who had no memory of what happened 15 years back, resigned from CID so that his department was not put to shame because of him. He also walked away from Daya's life, so that Daya was able to keep Purvi happy. In the end Abhijeet was proven innocent of another murder. Daya was upset with Purvi as she failed to stand by his side during his tough times. Purvi apologised to Abhijeet for having wrongly accused him and Abhijeet told her that he would bring Daya back to her but this track ended here and there's no mention of Purvi again till date.

The next noteworthy episode was MANALI MURDER [26th March]. This episode is shot in the snow-filled peaks of Manali and Shimla. A dead body was found in the snow and the local police came to know that the dead lady is from Mumbai. CID Mumbai was summoned to investigate the case. Some wonderfully shot chase scenes in the streets of Shimla and stunts on the snow and freezing rivers makes this a must-watch episode.

KHOONI DEEWAR & MAUT KA ASHIRWAAD [7th & 14th May] episodes marked the start of bi-weekly CID and introduction of Inspector Sachin and Sub Inspector Kajal.

Early with the advent of 2010 came a new era in the history of CID. The era of the bi-weekly system, that is two episodes of CID per week on Friday and Saturday, instead of the usual one on Friday. The move met a generally negative response from the fandom, for understandable reasons. Firstly, up till this point CID had been a closely knit team with a selected few members present - namely the "Famous Five", Vivek, Tasha and Dr. Tarika, who had been accepted since long by the fans, and grown accustomed to seeing their bonding and teamwork. The new system saw the entry of the new members - Sachin, Kajal and Dr. Sonali, which began crowding in the team and a split in team distribution although the characters were eventually accepted individually. By far the most criticized aspect of this was that the viewers rarely got to see the esteemed duo of Daya and Abhijeet on screen for several months following this. Others like Vivek and Tasha were sidelined even more during their already limited screen time.

Even more, the change had a very noticeable effect on the stories of the show. There had already been concerns about degradation in quality for a while by now, and the issue got much more pronounced for obvious reasons. In the "Golden era" of old, each episode used to be aired as two weekly half-hour parts and not only were the writers given much more time to develop the story, but had to have a high point in the middle so as to leave the first part on an intriguing note and leaving the viewers in suspense. Once the hourly system started, this effect was dampened and the bi-weekly system took that to a whole new level. The suspense and thrill of the stories took a serious downward trend, with many things including criminal motives becoming unbelievable. The era was also prone to many series, both a boon and bane as despite their entertainment value, most featured lackluster stories which did not live up to the actors' efforts. The era is known as T H E D A R K A G E S. Still, the era had its memorable points as listed below.

RAHASYAMAI DARWAZA was a fairly normal case which saw the entry of Dr. Sonali and heralded the implementation of the bi-weekly system in CID.

KHATRA CHEMICAL BOMB KA was the first episode after the advent of the bi-weekly system that was widely appreciated by fans and considered to be one of the most gripping modern CID episodes at that point. The strength of the episode lay not only in the quality story and direction, featuring the CID facing a dangerous terrorist named Raman and his bomb threats, but the way it gave importance to every member of the team, senior and junior alike. The Trio were given exceptionally prominent roles and the others including Vivek, Tasha, Sachin and Kajal got plentiful roles as well. The thrilling episode, endowed with deliciously building suspense leading to an action-filled and nail-biting climax, was greatly praised by everybody in the fandom.

APAHARAN was another prominent episode featuring the CID team working to find and rescue a famous film star named Vikram. The episode featured notable use of forensics for deciphering important clues, and after a battle of wits featuring a disguise by Sachin and Kajal at the end, the kidnapper is finally captured by the cops.

If there was an episode that truly reached the peak in terms of anticipation after the legendary "Beherupiya", it is ABHIJIT IN COMA. The promo for the episode featured Abhijeet being grievously injured in a gun battle, surrounded by his concerned colleagues and said to be in critical condition at the hospital. Although overuse of such stories led to a serious dampening effect on such promos in the future, the effect was striking on all viewers in this episode. Millions of CIDians all across the country awaited the weekend with bated breath and discussed the episode moment-from-moment; everything from the opening fight, the fateful gunshot, emotional scenes in the hospital, the dramatic reveal about the plan, Abhijeet working with Dr. Tarika to overcome enemies at the hospital and the thrilling climax featuring a hilarious disguise scene from Vivek and Kajal were praised and enjoyed by the audiences. Although, questions remained about how Abhijeet took the bullet for Daya just in time, which seems too far-fetched for a plan.

RAHASYA PAANCH KANKALON KA aired soon after featured the kidnapping of Dr. Salunkhe by a vengeful ex-colleague of his, following a bizarre mystery involving five fake skeletons, and the CID's efforts to find and rescue their veteran.

DESH DROHIYON KE VIRUDDH CID gave the viewers another treat in the form of a truly worthy exotic episode, after the London series. Starting with the CID team on a trail following a single piece of evidence - a photograph taken at the Red Fort - and eventually exposing a major fake notes racket, the magnificent Independence Day special episode was directed by B.P Singh himself. Featuring well-known locations like the Chandni Chowk, Connaught Place, Rail Museum, India Gate, Sarojini Nagar Market, Qutab Minar and Jantar Mantar, the episode seamlessly integrated Delhi into the setting of the thrilling story with an engaging narrative, making the city feel like a character in itself as the story progressed. The flawless performances of the entire team, from the ACP, Abhijeet and Daya to Freddy, Vivek and Tasha were universally praised and lauded. The rousing episode ended with a patriotic rendition of the entire CID cast and crew coming together to sing the National Anthem.

The era saw the rise of a new trend in CID - increasing frequency of series of episodes, often featuring parallel, generally unmemorable murder cases that were unrelated to the main story at hand. The first and most prominent example of this was the AAKHRI CHUNAUTI series. Promoted heavily with a thrilling, specially made promo featuring an international gangster Harpis Dongara (played by Mahesh Manjrekar) targeting the CID team and the trio in particular, expectations were set high. The promising first episode, featuring an entertaining and well performed rustic disguise by Abhijeet and Daya led to a series of unmemorable episodes featuring the team members being kidnapped one by one, while the others kept investigating in parallel cases except a scene or two. It culminated in a disastrous anticlimax of an ending, featuring an unnecessary "tour" of Paris as the trio followed Harpis and finished him off in the lackluster climax, the team's miraculous escape from the deadly bomb blast in the previous episode remaining completely unexplained along with countless other points raised in the series. Nevertheless, the series is remembered by fans for the very memorable performances of the brilliant actors, once again. Apart from the aforementioned disguise scene, we see an exceptional scene of bonding between Abhijeet and Tasha as the former rescues his junior from a room full of toxic gas. An emotional Vivek rushing to hug his beloved Freddy sir, before being shocked as the latter is forced to hold him at gunpoint, is one of the most cherished moments of their bonding. By far the most well-known and critically appreciated is the eighth episode featuring Tasha in what's possibly the most brilliant role in her wonderful tenure, giving her magnificent spotlight to stun everybody with the full glory of her talent at long last. The trio having been erased of their memories with fictional drugs and tricked into going after each others' lives, even trying to kill her, Tasha keeps her cool, maintains her love and faith for her seniors and single handedly helps them revive their memory just in time. The duo getting ACP Pradyuman out of harm's way and joining him in the adventure in Paris were other highlights.

A pleasant surprise came in the form of CID KE JUNG BAAL MAZDOORI KE SANG, a Diwali special featuring an important social issue - child labour, in this case in fireworks factories and the CID team's efforts to thwart the notorious racket. Featuring the trio, Freddy, Vivek and Tasha in outstanding roles including a wonderful disguise, delivering a wonderful message and ending with the team celebrating Diwali in lovely traditional attires with children, the episode was greatly appreciated by fans.

A line of later episodes like RAHASHYMAY QATIL, DO QATL KI PAHELI, RAAZ ANJAAN BIWI KA and especially DAYA KA DULHAN KA RAAZ featured the infamous "YEH SAB PLAN THA" technique in the stories, with the last one especially irking fans with extended scenes of Daya apparently deciding to marry one Ansha who's the niece of a dreaded criminal boss, and going against his teammates' advice for that matter. Eventually revealed to be an undercover plan by the team and Ins Anila to catch the aforementioned boss, the final "duo" moment did serve to offer a pleasing close to the matter.

ABHIJIT IN JAIL was the first crossover episode between CID and the now highly popular and appreciated courtroom drama on Sony, ADAALAT. When Abhijeet is accused of murdering a criminal named Zoravar, apparently out of anger when the latter insults the ACP out of malice, the impeccable KD Pathak takes up his case and goes on to expose in dramatic and engaging manner the great conspiracy hatched to frame Abhijeet. Abhijeet's performance and his bonding with KD were greatly lauded by all and sundry.

Tragedy struck the fandom with KHATRE MEIN TASHA, with Vaishnavi Dhanraj leaving the show it was decided to have the character of Tasha meet a painful end. The first scene also saw the ACP showing a rare instance of full faith in Abhijeet when the latter returns after being cleared of all charges; making the episode unique in beginning and ending with a respected member's return and exit respectively. An otherwise mundane murder story although featuring the intrepid lady officer in a strong role with powerful bonding with Abhijeet, the climax saw a female culprit seize her gun in a desperate attempt to escape. The weapon goes off in the struggle and Tasha is fatally shot. Although Abhijeet promptly gets her to the hospital, the damage is too severe for the poor girl to survive. Surrounded by her beloved team, with the ACP gently caressing her forehead and sobbing that she doesn't wish to leave them, the brave, sweet and innocent lady cop breathes her last. Tasha's death was mourned by her teammates and the entire CID fandom alike, and left a gaping hole in the show forever.

Soon after came yet another series to start 2011, ABHIJEET KE ATEET KA RAAZ- this time it's dealing with the oft-highlighted issue of Abhijeet's memory loss. Episode started with Abhijeet in a fantastic role including a brilliant scene as a drunkard in hospital, it eventually led to him facing a head injury and having hazy recollections of himself as a criminal in the past, and shooting a captive police officer. Traumatized by shock and guilt, and unwilling to share with his teammates, Abhijeet visits a doctor for help and is tricked and manipulated by the mysterious lady assistant Maya, who has plans of her own and uses drugs to try lure Abhijeet onto their side. Joined with notorious criminals named Amit and Abhay, they attempt to use him to free their imprisoned accomplices and flee the country. With an ever-growing rift between him and his team, including an inexplicable verbal tussle with Daya and the ACP that left many fans hurt, Abhijeet seemingly accompanies them. In a thrilling climax involving the gang holding a building of innocent hostages, two brilliant disguises by Vivek and Sachin and Abhijeet using his wits to lure the gang into a trap, the villains are finally defeated in a gunfight and a repentant Maya sacrifices her life to defend Abhijeet. He's reunited with his beloved team, who finally learn about the reason behind his pain and help reveal that it's an illusion - he never was a criminal. The series ends on a joyful note.

CHASE continued the trend of series in CID, featuring the team finding clues and solving various cases in Pune, Kohlapur and Aurangabad. The series was criticized for its lackluster and anticlimactic stories, but the cast earned praise for their performances.

DHOOM was yet another series, this time featuring action-heavy episodes calling for the team to perform daring stunts in course of the episodes. Starting with the thrilling Bus Hijack featuring a daring bus-top stunt by Abhijeet, and Bike Robbers featuring motorcycle stunts by the Duo, Sachin and guest star Payal Rohatgi, the series was praised by viewers for its entertainment factor and efforts of the cast, though the stories left something to be desired, except Raaz Blueprint Ka which was hailed as a wholesome and thrilling case.

CID AUR NANHE DETECTIVES was another appreciated episode, where a gang of terrorists takes over a school building and holds the students and teachers hostage in order to make their demands. A small group of kids manage to remain undetected and cleverly inform the CID right on time. The gang forces the CID to fetch an imprisoned inmate and, in a shocking turn of events, reveals that he's actually a rival and forces the cops to shoot him. Featuring brilliant performances by the trio, amazing assistance by Fredericks and Vivek including a much loved distraction scene and sweet moments of the team with children, the episode was welcomed by fans.

AZAADI KI JUNG ACP PRADYUMAN KE SANG was the Independence Day special of 2011, featuring the team's conflict with a dangerous terrorist named Jungaar who kidnaps several officers including the duo. Coming to consciousness in time as they're left for the dead, and managing to reunite with their colleagues, the team manages to stop Jungaar from bombing a celebration in a boat just on time. It's a comeback episode of Vivek after a break of almost 2 months. The episode ends with ACP sir and the team giving out a patriotic message and hoisting the flag, which won the heart of one and all.

DAYA EK QATIL saw Daya being framed after the mysterious death of judges in a culinary competition and he's discovered holding a gun over at the fatally shot host. Despite all the evidence being against Daya, his colleagues defend him and investigate to get to the bottom of the mystery, eventually busting a fake note racket and nabbing the real culprits, clearing Daya's name.

CID MISSION GOA the first part featured ACP Pradyuman visiting Goa seeking to find a missing secret agent named Vijay. After identifying his quarry as an evil drug trader Carlos and being kidnapped after being betrayed by one Rostin, the ACP is eventually reunited with his team as they reach him after a long search. Following a climactic fight, Abhijeet is injured falling off a cliff and is knocked unconscious. In the second part, he awakes in the company of an unknown lady who claims she's his wife and he's lost his memory due to the head injury, shows numerous proofs of the same, and goads him to take his place in the criminal gang and eradicate the CID. Abhijeet apparently complies and goes against his team, in several scenes infamously including shooting Daya and the team holding a lengthy melodramatic funeral for the latter, and shooting the ACP after apparently tricking him into believing a tale of remorse. It's eventually revealed that Abhijeet had never lost his memory and it was a staged plan to capture the criminals. Although the performances of the cast were praised, the episode was heavily criticized for the now infamous "YEH SAB PLAN THA" factor and melodrama.

AAROPI DR. SALUNKHE was yet another example of the same. With Dr. Salunkhe facing grievous charges and the team apparently turning against him, there are several instances of arguments and melodrama eventually leading to the veteran doctor apparently being shot by the ACP. Eventually it's revealed to be just a plan to catch the culprit off guard, who had harboured a grudge against Dr. Salunkhe. The episode met highly negative reviews.

KOLKATA MEIN TARGET DAYA came as a welcome change, and a much appreciated episode. Receiving an important tip off and going on a solo mission to Kolkata where he's pursued and attacked by a criminal gang, Daya risks his life to fight the evil thugs and his concerned teammates including the ACP and Abhijeet go to Kolkata to find and help him. After several close calls through the city, they thwart the gang. Directed by BP Singh in the Kolkata portion, the episode and the Trio's performances were greatly appreciated by all.

CID NE KIYA APAHARAN featured young talent Swini Khara, already well-known for starring alongside Aditya Srivastava in Kaalo, in a prominent role as she's found by Abhijeet and Daya and requests them to commit a murder for her. The duo take the girl to Abhijeet's house and try to find out more, but she eventually gets away and on the trail, it's discovered she's trying to save her brother from a dangerous criminal. The team eventually succeeds in helping her and the duo's bonding with the girl received much praise.

2012 started on a magnificent note with KISSA DAYA AUR LAPATA BACHE KA, aired on the occasion of CID's anniversary. The episode was promoted before its release showcasing a wonderful off-screen video of the Trio singing a touching lullaby. BP Singh made his first appearance as DCP Shamsher Chitrole after the Face Off/London series (mysteriously demoted from DIG to DCP despite that old clip being shown) as Daya is accused of a terrible murder and is suspended by the DCP, despite the support of his entire team. When a small child is mysteriously found in his house soon after, the trio tries to take care of the child and get to the bottom of the mystery and clear Daya of all charges. Highly praised not only for its gripping story and team distribution but the famous lullaby scene of the trio, which showcased their emotional and human side in spectacular form, the episode entered the all-time favourite lists of fans far and wide.

The VEERTA SERIES in March, featuring episodes like DAHEJ KA DANA, CHOTA SAINIK, BULAND HOSLE, CHOTI SI ASHA, VEERTA KE JUNG DACOIT KE SANG & RAAZ WHEELCHAIR KA aimed to focus on the bravery of everyday citizens as they faced dangerous situations single handedly and assisted the CID in saving the day, this encouraging the viewers to imbibe the spirit of valiance.

When a bus of scientists goes missing in MISSION SHIRDI, haunted by a mysterious neck-snapping killer in their midst, the CID team picks up clues and goes on a lengthy mission from Mumbai to Shirdi, trying to find the bus and rescue the scientists, as well as to nab the killer and mastermind, eventually ending at a thrilling showdown on a bomb-rigged bridge. The two parts are noticeable for the team's performances as well as a cameo appearance of Daya sir's hotel in Shirdi.

CID MEIN DARAAR SERIES was centred around ACP Pradyuman facing suspicion after he's seen meeting mysterious men and finds a dead body with a chip under his table, and sets out to find the truth under cover, putting the team in surprise. Once again, DCP Chitrole enters to accuse him of murdering secret agents, and the team defends the ACP and goes on to look for him when he's kidnapped. It leads to a thrilling climax featuring a bank robbery and hostage crisis where the entire team comes together and is reunited with the ACP in time to save the day. The series was generally appreciated by viewers for the climax and cast performances.

CID MEIN GADDAR was the first episode in CID centered around Purvi and her past. Following a close encounter with a kidnapping racket, Purvi discovers her photo in a collection of young children kidnapped several years ago, and sets out to find the truth. We're shown that her father suffers from Alzheimer's disease and barely recognizes her. Following an ambush and attack on the team, who had been trying to find her, it's revealed that her father Girish had originally adopted her after the gang murdered her biological parents, with his nurse being involved in all of it. ACP Pradyuman consoles Purvi and teaches her that one must accept the positives in life, in this case Girish. The Trio and Purvi's performances were largely appreciated by fans.

KHATRE MEIN TARIKA showed Tarika in danger, being nearly hanged along with two dead bodies in a bizarre mystery involving bluebottle flies, and a body stealing racket. The episode focuses on the team's efforts to save her and bust the racket.

CID VIRUDH ADALAAT was the second crossover between CID and Adaalat, where KD Pathak takes up the case of DCP Chitrole after the latter is accused of murdering Dr. Salunkhe, accepting bribes and betraying the law. Although initially at conflict with the CID team, it's eventually revealed that their goals are, in fact, the same and they work together to prove the DCP innocent and apprehend the real culprit. Another highlight includes the climactic scene of the duo and Purvi rescuing Dr. Salunkhe from a manhole trap, portraying the wonderful bonding between all of them. The three-parter episode ended with a much appreciated light moment being shared by the CID team, at the expense of Chitrole.

KHOON KHABRI KA saw Daya sir determined for revenge when his friend, criminal-turned-informer Ramesh is brutally murdered. Working to find out the murderers, he's eventually suspected of murdering Abhijeet's informer Guddu. Abhijeet and Daya understand soon that someone's trying to create a rift between them, and work together to defeat the vengeful criminal targeting CID informers.

KHATRE MEIN CID OFFICER started out as what was supposed to be a regular murder case, except when it was discovered that trainee lady officer Roma had gone missing along with a friend. It's eventually revealed that she was brutally attacked by a gang of vile eve teasers, and in presence of Abhijeet and Shreya, she succumbs to her injuries. Although the culprits are nabbed, Roma's death is mourned by the team.

FREDDY KI BIWI EK KHOONI? It was centered around Freddy's wife Smitha (her name inexplicably being changed once again, despite Freddy always shown respecting her a lot) is accused of murdering her boss Radhika, with all clues pointing against her and Freddy desperately trying to defend her from accusations and prove her innocent. It's eventually revealed that the real killer was a co-worker who had framed Smitha to cover up their drugs racket. With Smitha being ridiculously shown only as a shadow, Abhijeet being pretty much the only one to support Freddy's point of view and Freddy being portrayed in a humiliating manner despite being a respected veteran, the episode met negative reviews.

RAHASYAMAY HOTEL was notable mainly for the opening scene, which featured the entire team having a delightful meal at the aforementioned hotel and sharing several sweet casual moments, including mimicking each other for fun. The scene was greatly enjoyed and relished by fans. The rest of the episode focused on Purvi and Shreya being kidnapped by an evil woman trafficking racket and the team's effort to help them.

GIRAFTAAR CID OFFICER VINEET is centred around Vineet being accused of treacherous drug smuggling after he's apparently caught red-handed by the team in a night-time encounter. His alibi turns out to be useless and he's arrested despite protesting innocence. The ACP gives him one last chance and following the search of his house, the truth about his stay-in friend Hitesh and a vengeful man Varun is revealed following extensive investigation, and Vineet is cleared. Vineet and the trio were appreciated by fans for their performances.

GUNEHGAAR CID OFFICER RAJAT was the first episode centred around Sr. Insp Rajat, beginning with a mysterious scene of bodies being dissolved in a well and Rajat being found with a dead girl in a bloody scene. After much interrogation, he takes Dr. Tarika hostage and escapes with her, although he stays true to his virtues as a noble human being and officer and surrenders to the team as apt, at the right time. It's revealed he was doing it to help his father, who was ill in the hospital and who had learned about a vile organ-trading racket going about the place. Rajat's character development and Vikas sir's acting received accolades from the fandom.

If there is a modern episode that truly is universally hailed as a classic, or closest to one, by the fandom at large then it's the magnificent two-parter, ABHIJEET KA INTEQAAM. The epic started out with a heroic scene of Abhijeet rescuing an elderly lady from a band of torch-wielding thugs. After a lovely duo scene in the car, we're presented with the main case at hand - a man named Aakash being the sole witness at a blast scene caused by the accused, Badal. After agreeing to testify in court, he's threatened by the other gang members and is escorted to safety by the team using decoys, whereas Abhijeet is assigned the duty of bringing Aakash's daughter Sia safely from school. Abhijeet soon develops a close bond with the sweet and kind-hearted girl, and vows to protect her. Both of them face a deadly attack by the gang on the road following a car chase, and despite Abhijeet's best efforts to keep Sia out of harm's way, the thugs abduct her after brutally shooting him multiple times and leaving him for dead on the road. The cliffhanger left audiences stunned and praying for our beloved officer and anticipation of what would to come. The second part began with a heart-rending scene of Daya and the ACP finding Abhijeet's motionless form at the attack site. Following an emotional hospital scene where the entire team prays for him, it's revealed that he's in an indefinitely long coma due to the injuries. One month later, the trial takes place and Aakash testifies on the ACP's encouragement, after which his family is sent a photo of Sia apparently murdered. Abhijeet recovers and after a warm reunion with his beloved team, is devastated to learn about Sia's fate. Burning with rage and desiring revenge, together with Daya he hunts down the evil gang and following a close encounter with the team, one of them reveals Sia was secretly kept alive to use as a barter with the police if ever caught. Abhijeet has an emotional reunion with her as the ACP and Daya watch. The episode was highly praised for the magnificent performances of Abhijeet and the trio, the thrilling and emotional story, flawless direction and importance given to every member of the team.

RAAZ DAYA KE DOSTON KE MAUT KA saw Daya being suspected again as two of his old friends meet mysterious deaths, after calling him for help. It's eventually revealed that a woman madly in love with Daya was going around murdering his female friends out of jealousy. The episode received negative reviews for obvious reasons.

RAAZ BREAKING NEWS KA was hailed as one of the best episodes of 2012. When a kidnapper named Raghu dies in the custody of the Duo under mysterious circumstances, the ACP accuses them of killing him after being provoked, and suspends them, followed by their discussion about his distrust. After much investigation and the murder of an informer, it's revealed that Raghu had in fact been poisoned and it's revealed that the girl he had kidnapped was just another victim in a long list of crimes staged by the owner of a News company just to get fresh "breaking news" items exclusive to his news channel. The episode was praised for the officer's solid roles and the suspenseful and innovative storyline.

ABHIJEET KI DEEWANI was another downer after a number of impressive episodes that year. Abhijeet is kidnapped by an insane female "fan" of his named Roshini, who goes to great lengths to show the extent of her compulsive obsession with him and tries to force him to marry her or be killed. Meanwhile, the team attempts to rescue Abhijeet and find out the truth about Roshini. The episode hurt many fans and was largely panned by the fandom.

CID KI KIDNAPPING was another example of a subpar story rescued solely by the dedicated performances of the actors. For inexplicable reasons, a maniac named Shera kidnaps the Trio, Rajat, Sachin and Nikhil, locking them in monitored rooms and playing mind games with them. He eventually forces Abhijeet and Daya to attack each other, though they manage to get away with quick thinking. He also kidnaps Purvi and tries to force her to sacrifice herself to save her team, which she bravely agrees, but is saved in time by her respected seniors. The performances of the entire team were praised by the audiences.

CID PAR GRAHAN featured a story going four parts and beyond, as ACP Pradyuman is accused of treachery when he is unable to save a girl named Jasmine who had sought his help. Forced to resign by DCP Chitrole, he leaves the CID despite requests from the duo, Freddy and everybody else in the team and takes up a job at a marriage counseling office. Meanwhile, Chitrole introduces the new ACP Digvijay and two new cops Suraj and Pankaj to spy upon the original team and break their loyalty towards Pradyuman. As the team silently defies the malicious Digvijay and tries to bring back ACP Pradyuman, the latter's involvement on a mission at the marriage bureau becomes evident as well, which leads to the exposing of a major racket. The series ends on a positive note with the team getting rid of the dishonest Digvijay, ACP Pradyuman being cleared and reinstated, and the entire team offering a message against crime on women. The bonding between the Trio, Freddy and Dr. Salunkhe was greatly appreciated by fans.
