When she came with his food, Maan was busy chatting with Adi regarding office. She handed Maan the bowl, Maan took the first spoon of food in his mouth and then puked. Maan shouted, "What the hell is this?", Mishti and Adi were scared and Adi peeped in the bowl and his eyes opened wide. Mishti was scared, she was not getting what she had done now, she just made his food as per the doctor's suggestion. She replied meekly, "Ji Dalia...". Maan threw the bowl away and again shouted angrily, "Tumhe ek baat samaj nahi aati, how many times I had told you not to do any of my work...Get the hell out of here". Mishti was very scared and hurt too. Adi looked helplessly at Mishti. She took the bowl from the floor and ran from there. Maan was very angry, not on Mishti but her caring behaviour. He was not getting why she was doing all this when he himself had given her choice. Her caring nature was totally incomprehensible to Maan. And moreover he was frustrated with his helplessness before a mere girl who entered his life just few hours ago. He was feeling as if his life has been controlled and reins are in the hands of this girl.
Dadima saw Mishti going down in a haste, she called her, "Mishti beta kya hua?". Mishti looked at her and tears escaped from her eyes. Dadima got tensed though she had a clue that this was related to Maan as no one knew Maan more than her, but still she asked, "Beta kya hua, aap ro kyu rahi hai?". Mishti told her everything that happened in the room. She continued, "Dadima doctor ne kaha tha light khana dena hai or hamare ghar jab bhi koi beemar hota tha to hum dalia banate the uske liye. Maan ji ko dalia pasand nahi or hume halke khane me kuch or banana nahi aata. Unko dawai bhi leni hai or doctor ne bina kuch khaaye dawai lene se mana kiya hai". Dadima was touched, in place of anger there was worry on her face for his stubborn grandson. Dadima smiled and caressed her cheek, "Beta aap chinta mat kijiye hum Nakul ko bol dete hai kuch banana ke liye. Beta aaj se aap khaane ki chinta mat kijiye, aap jab bhi kahegi Nakul khaana bana dega, hamare liye yehi bahut hai ki aap Maan ka itne achhe se khayal rakh rahi hai". Mishti smiled at her and went to kitchen.
Mishti was standing with a tray of food at the door of their room, she was still scared due to the previous incident. She thought, "Agar Maan ji phir se gussa ho gaye to, unhone mujhe mana kiya hai kuch karne ko. Par unka dawai lena bhi to jaruri hai...agar unhe pata chal gaya ki ye khaana mai layi hu or unhone khaane se mana kar diya to...nahi nahi, mai chup chap se bina kuch bole andar ja kar ye khaana Adi bhaiya ko de deti hu or wo Maan ji ko khila dege". She with a lots of courage entered Maan's room and handed the tray to Adi and gestured him to give this to Maan. Then she left the room with a victorious smile thinking that Maan was unaware of her. But she was totally wrong.
The moment she entered his room, he at once knew that she was there. He heard the sound of her tinkling anklets. But he didn't say anything, he too was not feeling good when he realized that he behaved very badly with her. So he let her do whatever she wants. He ate the food and took the medicines and lied to have a nap to relax his stormy mind.
In the evening, Mishti came with his coffee with tons of courage. She knew that to take care of him she had to face him. She couldn't use the morning trick again and again. And to take care of him she had to talk to him. Mishti uttered in a very low voice, "Aapki coffee...". Maan turned towards the voice and took the cup. He put the cup on the table and stood from the bed. Mishti at once came near him and held his hand, "Aaa...aapko kahi jaana hai?". Maan looked away and replied hesitantly, "Hmm...washroom". Mishti held him and slowly moved towards the wash room simultaneously counting the steps. She left his hand when they reached the washroom and she whispered, "eight steps". Maan at once understood what she was trying to say. Maan moved in and Mishti was standing outside waiting for him. He came out and moved towards his bed in the same way as Mishti had done. Mishti was standing at a distance and watching him. When he himself moved towards his bed without any help she was delighted and immediately went to him and handed his coffee. He took the coffee and said, "thanks...". She was surprised, for the first time she sensed softness in his voice. She was happy. Maan thanked her not for the coffee, but for the help she had done a moment ago. He felt a little relaxed now.
A week passed like this. Now Maan was a bit comfortable with Mishti. He was used to of her help and her care. And now he could walk in his room without the help of others. Mishti took great care that everything was on its place in his room so that he didn't have any problem while moving in his room.
Dadima was very happy seeing that Maan was recovering and Mishti was taking good care of Maan. It was Sunday and all the servants were busy in preparing lunch. Some distant relatives were coming. Dadima called Mishti, "Mishti beta aaj hamari cousin apni grand daughters ke saath aa rahi hai. Wo aap se milna chahti hai. Isliye humne aapke liye kuch dresses or jewellery select ki hai, aapko jo pasand hai wo aap pehen lena". Mishti nodded in agreement.
She came to her room. She saw Maan was lying on bed with closed eyes. Mishti came to him, "Aap coffee lege?". Maan with closed eyes, "Hmm...". She brought him coffee. She tried to talk to him, she knew he might be feeling very bored sitting at one place. She tried to engage him, "Aaj kuch relatives aa rahe hai ghar par". Maan turned towards the source of the voice. Mishti continued, "Dadima ne kaha hai wo lunch par aayege". Maan asked, "Kaun aa raha hai?". Mishti was happy that he replied as he rarely replied to any of her talks. Mishti spoke up, "Dadima ki cousin or unki grand daughters aa rahe hai". Maan nodded as he was not interested in any of these matters.
Mishti got ready and came down with Maan. Now Maan was fine and could walk perfectly but with the help of others outside of his room. Dadima's heart swelled seeing both of them together and wished to God that they would be together always.
Dadima's cousin, Sheela, was a nice woman but her grand daughters, Nisha and Nita, were very high headed girls. Nisha liked Maan and wanted to marry him but Nimisha came in between. Maan never gave heed to her. She came today to see who has married Maan as she was aware that Maan broke up with Nimisha.
Everyone gathered at the dining table. Mishti was serving everyone. Sheela liked Mishti's nature, "Savitri tumhari bahu to bahut pyaari hai". Dadima was happy, "Ha Sheela jarur humne pichhle janam me kuch punya kiya tha jo Mishti jaisi bahu mili hume". But there was someone who was burning in jealousy listening to all this.
