The Bajrang Dal and some fringe Hindu groups had threatened such action if the movie was not banned. Their contention was that the movie, PK', insults Hindu gods.

The activists were caught on camera damaging threatres in the city, Times Now reported.

Protests were also held in Bhopal over the film and some screenings were halted.
Another bone of contention for the Bajrang Dal activists was that the movie shows an Indian girl in love with a Pakistani boy and this was construed by the right wing activists as promoting love jihad'.

The film, which was released on December 19, received rave reviews and got superb response at the Box Office, with the film garnering more than Rs 200 crore in the first week of its release.

To me, it looks like these guys are not upset about the film insulting Hindu Gods, rather they are pissed that the film revealed how Godmen, political groups, leaders, priests, terrorists exploit religion to their advantage. Chor ki dadhi mein tinka.
Their behavior is actually now in line with what was shown in the film- wonder whose butt will be the victim of the trishul.

Oh yes screenings have stopped in Uo my cousin told me and they even vandalisef ppl in Agra thestre who tried stopping it

The fact that it showed the faces of so many ongoing things that helps them make money.

It is not about God and their love for it...but faces of so many people being revealed.

I wish people had more jobs than to waste their time protesting against films.

don't these people have other work to do in their lives...instead of damaging public property...they can sit down and discuss how to stop crime...rapes and gives suggestions to government...

there is a disclaimer written in hindi and english...its pure fiction work...can't they understand the meaning of "fiction"

instead of wasting time in a stupid protest to ruin people's hardwork investing crores in the film...as a citizen of India...they can fight for their country and make it a safe place to live
