The Divine tale of Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, a show rich in content, started with,

A Rudraksh adorning Mahadev's armband decided to meet his other half. Was found by Sati, daughter of Prajapati Daksh, flowing in water. The connection was establised. She reached rishi Dadhichi's ashram, got curious about Mahadev, unaware of the fact, she was destined to meet him. Daksh had kept her away from anything connected to Mahadev. In Daksh's sabha, Rishi Dadhichi asked her to call Mahadev, who gets pleased even by a Bel patra & devotee's heartfelt call. Surrounded by a powerful aura, Mahadev appears. Sati gets mesmarised. Her father Daksh is furious.

Mahadev had cut Dakhs's father, Brhma's 5th head with his Trishul, for speaking against Vedas, was one of the reason for Daksh's hatered towards him. Sati was Aadi Shakti, born to unite with Shiv, was born as Daksh's daughter as a result of his severe penanace done on Brhma's instance, who was unable to proceed his creation without Shakti's help. As a result the Ardhanarishwar separated Shakti & lead a lonely life for many Yugas. Brhma, Vishnu decided now it's time for Shiv & Shakti to unite again.

Tarakasur got a boon of getting killed by Mahadev's son, was happy seeing Mahadev single. He sent Vritrasur to kill Sati but Mahadev saved her.

In her Swayamvar, Sati's varmala adorn's Mahadev's neck, who was not invited by Daksh but, couldn't resist as Sati was his Shakti, he had to come. In All Devas, Rishi's presence, they get married. Sati goes to Kailash to live happily with her Shiv.

Daksh plans his final revenge. Organises a Maha yagya. Everyone is invited except Mahadev & Sati. Vishnu is guarding this yagya. Seeing everyone going for the yagya, Sati gets excited to meet all her sisters, parents, insists on going uninvited too because a daughter doesn't need an invitation to visit her parent's house. Trikaldarshi Mahadev, reluctantly allows her, sending Nandi and Ganas with her. In the yagya Daksh insults Sati and Mahadev infront of everyone present . Unable to bear Mahadev's insult, She showes her Aadi Shakti form, through her Yoga Shakti leaves her mortal body.

This news angers Mahadev. His Tandav indicates the impending future. He pulls 2 of his hair strands,  Veerbhadra & Bhadrakali appear. They were asked to destroy the yagya & stop anyone trying to oppose them. Veerbhadra fights with Daksh's army, Vishnu, only to surpass all of them, he destroys the yagya & cuts off Daksh's head. On Prasuti's request, Mahadev brings him back to life with a Goat's head.

Carrying Sati's dead body, Mahadev roams everywhere. To get him out of this state, Vishnu cuts her body in 51 parts through his Sudarshan Chakra. Wherever these pcs fell, a Shakti peeth was created. Mahadev gives responsibility of guarding them to Kaal Bhairav. He goes in Samadhi after that.

Shakti wanted a father, who will respect her. She is born as Parvati to Parvatraj Himavan & Mena. Ganga is her elder sister. Since childhood Parvati is attracted towards Shiv puja, at times annoying her mother Mena. Jaya, Vijaya are her friends. Mahadev is in Samadhi in a cave, which is under Himavan's rule. Parvati gets's glimps of Mahadev. Rishi Dadhichi guides her about the real purpose of her life. Sati born as Parvati is now ready to meet Mahadev.

Tormented by Tarakasur, all the Devas decides to help in getting them United. Kamdev is assigned this task. Parvati succeeds in getting Mahadev out of his Samadhi, only to see angry Mahadev opening his 3rd eye turning Kamdev into ashes. He leaves the place. With her parent's permission, Parvati decides to please him as his devotee, starts severe penance in the same cave. How can Mahadev remain unaffected with his devotee's penance. He has to come to unite with Shakti now. Parvati's penance is successfully compelted. But Mena is reluctant as she feels her daughter has lived in all luxuries, deserves better. Himavan manages to convince her.

Mahadev's grand Varyatra leaves Kailsh with all the Devas, Devis, Rishis, Asuras, Humans, Ganas etc. Sitting on Nandi, Mahadev arrives at the wedding venue. Mena is still not convinced. To please her Mahadev takes an enchanting Chandrashekhar form. The wedding takes place. Vishnu fulfills responsibility of Parvati's brother. The newly married couple gets a warm welcome by Lakshmi, Saptarishis, Nandi, Ganas etc at Kailash.

Their son Kartikeya is born initially as 6 babies, found by Kritikas. Parvati unites all in 1. Kartikeya- Skand lives with Kritikas for 6 years. Later takes training in all war arts required to be Deva's senapati. In a war he kills Tarakasur.

Once Parvati feels lonely at Kailsh as Mahadev was in Samadhi from a long time. She creates Vinayak, her son, who loves to eat Modak made by his mother. She goes for bath, instructing Vinayak to stop anyone's entry. Mahadev comes out of his Samadhi, wants to meet Parvati. Vinayak fights with Nandi etc who insists on letting Mahadev come inside. But our mother's true son refuses to go against his mata's wish, is ready to fight with Mahadev. He cuts Vinayak's head. Angry Parvati takes her Aadi Shakti form, starts destroying the World. On Vishnu's advise, Nandi cuts head of an Elephant, who was demon Gajasur. His head is fixed on Vinayak's body. He is named Ganesh, is given  boon of being Pratham Pujaya. Some Mushaks comes along the Himavan and Mena to Kailash, only to stay permanently with their friend Ganesh.

Ganesh destroys Kuber's ego, is an ideal son to his parents. Always keeps his promise, is full of wisdom, knowledge. He marries Ridhhi, Budhhi. He distracts Ravan from taking a Shivling to Lanka.

Kartikeya is given duty of guarding South, he marries Devsena.

Tarakasur's sons Vidyunmali, Tarakaksh, Viryavan performed severe penanace , got a boon from Brhma, all 3 of them can get killed by a single arrow only. Maya Danav made 3 Planets for them of Gold, Silver & Iron. Each one was like a big city. They started troubling Shiv Bhaktas, commiting a crime. Mahadev killed all 3 of them, when their movement was aligned, with a single arrow.

Ramayan from Mahadev's pov, inspired by creatives of this show is shown, where Sita is freed from Ravan in the end.

Various Jyotirling's stories are covered. Starting with,

Somnath- Chandra gets free from Daksh's curse. Mahamrityunjay mantra is given to all by Rishi  Markandeya.

Mallikarjun-  Established by both Mahadev & Parvati, who came to take Kartikeya back to Kailash

Mahakal-  In Avantika, he killed Danav Dushan to save his devotees.

Omkareshwar- Mahadev appeared here as Jyotirmaya Omkar. River Narmada flows in Om shape here.

Vaidyanath- Ganesh took form of Vaiju a shepherd boy to stop Ravan from taking Shivling to Lanka.

Nageshwar- Shiv devotees were saved from Daruka.

Bheemashankar-  Kumbhkarna's son Demon Bheema wanted to kill Kamrupeshwar by attacking Shivling he was praying to. Bheema was turned into ashes by Mahadev.

Kedarnath-  Nar & Narayan did penanace here.

Tryambakeshwar- Pleased with Rishi Gautam and Ahilya's devotion along with Ganga's request, Mahadev stayed here in form of a Jyotirling.

Rameshwar- Before starting the war with Ravan, Ram prayed to Lord Shiv here.

Vishweshvar- Kashi was created by Lord Shiv himself. He lives here as Avimukteswar Jyotirling. During Pralay he protects Kashi by taking it on his Trishul.

Ghrishneshwar- Pleased with Dhushma's devotion, Mahadev restored her dead son's life.

Devraj Indra along with Surya, Varun, Vayu, Agni etc play an important part as they are at times responsible in starting a new chain of events. As a result of rishi Durvasa's curse Lakshmi left Indra. Indra lost his Indrasan and wealth as a result.

During Samudra manthan both Devas & Asuras united to get Divine Gems from the Sea. Started churning the Sea. But strong Halahal came out first. To save the World from poisonous effects, Mahadev drank Halahal but kept in his neck only. His neck turned Blue. He became Neelkanth.

Lakshmi too appeared from Samaudra. She married Vishnu. In the end Dhanvatari appeared with Amrit Kalsh. While distributing them as Mohini all Devas were given Amrit first. Asur Rahu disguised as  Deva got Amrit too. Surya & Chandra pointed out to others. Vishnu immidiately cut his head with Sudarshan chakra. Since the Asura already had Amrit, both his head & Body are still alive as Rahu, Ketu, at times eclipsing Surya, Chandra to take revenge.

Rishi Dadhichi gave his bones to make Vajra for Indra to kill Vritrasur.

Indra's insecurity, ego were reason for creating Shivansh Jalandhar. His wife Vrinda was a Vishnu devotee. Jalandhar was killed when his protection shield Vrinda's chastity was broken by a trick from her aaradhya.

Shankhchud, who was Shridama in his past birth, has a similar story with Tulsi acting as his shield.

Another Shivansh Lohitang is our Mangal grah now.

Mansa is worshipped to get protection from poison.

Ashoksundari married Nahush, who was cursed by rishi Agastya due to his arrogance, ego.

Deva guru Brihaspati And Asura guru Shukracharya play important role in guiding their Shishyas. Most of the time Asuras disappoint their Guru when their Aasuri tendancies takes over, only to get killed in the end. Shukracharya is a great Mahadev devotee. Mrit Sanjeevani Vidya is given to him as result of his penanace. Brihaspati too had to see Deva's suffering, when his guidance is overlooked.

Malla, Mani were Mahakali devotees. With the intention of using her power to rule over others they tried trapping her through their Tantra- vidya. Parvati was born as Mhalsa. Mahadev  came as Martand to help her in killing both Malla, Mani. Ganga as Banai protected, guided Mhalsa.

Parvati gave Usha to Banasur. She trained her as a Guru. Seeing Anirudhh, Krishna's grandson in a dream, got attracted towards him. After getting defeated by Krishna & Balram, Banasur agreed for Usha & Anirudhha's marriage.

Bhasmasur had a boon, of turning things on ashes wherever he puts his palm on. He wanted to try it on Mahadev but Vishnu as Mohini tricked him. While dancing with Mohini. He puts his palm on his own head, thus killing himself.

Spiritual significance, Gyan are an important aspect of this show. Kundalini, 7 chakras, Ashtang Yoga, Tantra taught to Parvati by Aadi Guru Mahadev, Secret of Munda in the cave etc are very well covered aspects.

Gyan sabha, where Mahadev sitting under a tree enlightens rishis including Saptarishis, Bhrigu, Kashyap, Atri, Agastya, Markandeya etc . With occasional questions asked by Ganesh, Narad, Kartikeya, Parvati, other rishis, devotees to Mahadev is liked by many of us. Rishi Bhringi's delusion about the Shakti was cleared in one of the Gyansabha. Devarshi Narad is always around to help in whatever manner he can. Rishi Piplad, like his father is an ardent Mahadev bhakt.

Mahadev's various forms- Mahakal, Ardhnarishwar, Chandrashekhar, Tripurari, Aadi Guru, Mahayogi, Aghori, Yaksh, Pinakpani, etc are shown.

Aadi Shakti's Nav Durga, 10 Mahavidya form's glimps are shown covering their significance. For betterment of the World she takes different births too eg. Mhalsa, Kanyakumari. As Mahakali she killed Raktabeej, Andhak. As Durga, she killed Dhumralochan, Mahishasur etc.

Kanyakumari is the last story covered. Parvati's this form is to kill Banasur. He got a boon from Mahadev of getting killed by a Kumari Kanya. Wanting to be immortal, he tries his best to create circumstances to avoid his death, but gets killed by Kumari.

Mahadev's all the moves are witnessed by Brhma, Vishnu, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Narad, Devas from Ksheersagar, Brhmaloka, Swarga. They often play an active role in disguise or their real form with Mahadev, Parvati to make sure, the desired result is achieved.

These are some of the stories covered in this show. It wasn't possible add all the tracks shown, please accept my apologies for the same.

DKDM has taught us a lot, changed our perspective, initiated the urge to know more about our Spiritual treasure, which is an unexceptional achivement for a tv show.

Bidding a teary farewell to the most amazing & excellent show, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev.

One needs an excellent star cast to bring charatcters of Puranas alive. DKDM has showed even a God can be shown on small screen consistently for 3 years. Mohit Raina is a blessed actor. There arn't enough words to describe his performance. Grasping, portraying Mahadev's mannerism is commendeble.
He was supported by other actors, who are equally important in making DKDM come alive. All of them have put their heart & soul while performing. They've left an unforgetable  mark on viewers. It was a visual treat at times when their stellar performance was backed by an equally talented crew team. No wonder viewers always expected better & better from this team. We wish this entire talented & blessed team with all the best in future.
This is a small effort of showing some of the team members with an apology for missing out on others.

THE IDEA..THE CONCEPT AND A MIRACLE ON SCREEN...!!

Could we have ever imagined the most magnificent show of our times to manifest itself without multiple brilliant minds working day and night to give shape to an Idea... An Idea to break the norms of conventional mythological shows and present a show that with a novel approach that would not only change the face of a genre but will pave the way for its revival... All these objectives began as a teensy little idea ...and it resulted in fame not only in     India but worldwide... but more than material gains of name and fame, Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev had a magic that went straight through your heart and affected you deep down, compelled you think, opened up our minds to visualize the realities of life in a different perspective. Also noteworthy is the fact that the makers sought to give it a contemporary touch in terms of content. There were the traditional stories showcased aesthetically, and with similar finesse the makers did not shy away to include certain fictional tracks to deal with burning issues like environment protection, importance of education and adoption to name a few.

"Mahadev was different"... the statement reiterated infinite times and there were many reasons for that.. be it the treatment of the story or improved graphics or superior acting skills etc. It may have been one these reasons, but still there was something that DKDM offered, that had a spiritual depth which was unique for daily soap to give out such ethereal effect considering that they are a race against time. Here we must acknowledge the Inspiration behind the show.. the works of noted mythologist Devdutt Pattnaik formed the base upon which the show developed. His works are known for giving out simplest of interpretation to the deepest of our land's treasure trove spiritual secrets. With such inspiration, DKDM beautifully depicted Shiva's journey from a lonely stoic hermit to an involved householder, holding two contradictory concepts in a seamless balance.

Inspiration brings us to the Concept and Research for the show. And the credit for this goes to Aniruddh Pathak and Bodhisattva the brains behind the show, and equally involved with it was Nikhil Sinha, the Director and Producer. Inspired by Devdutt's interpretations these men envisioned this    show which was to become a feat for reviving a dormant genre. it was under the auspices and observant eyes of Anirudh Pathak, and Nikhil Sinha that the audience could feast their eyes with some spectacular performances. Their meticulous efforts to find the perfect cast (to them we owe the perfect  Mahadev in Mohit Raina), to bring the bygone era alive through the costumes and graphics and music, to bring alive the Puranic era where we witnessed the events as if live or as if we felt the emotions of the characters directly.

Inspiration and Concept are the abstract form that needs a shape in form of Story and Screenplay, and DKDM had been blessed with class writers. Unlike previous shows of this genre where the stories from the Puranas were copied in toto with nothing as one may call as interesting, the DKDM style of storytelling was more of a daily soap nature..with dramatic twists and turns given to a story but not fiddling with the essence.. so meanwhile it was always the regular victory of good over evil added with a little touch of drama... but this time the audience connected to the stories, they were the part of the character's trial and tribulations.  From the likes of Nilay Upadhyayay to Mihir Bhuta to Brijmohan Pandey to CL Saini to Utkarsh Naithani.. all have contributed their valuable ideas to covert the mythical tales into stories easily graspable by the audience. If there was crisp drama laced with innate spiritual essence then there was a story from the point of view of the antagonists, then again there were stories that filled your hearts with inexplicable bliss. All in all the stories helped to translate the abstract into reality. The story created the famous chemistries, the story possessed our minds, compelled us to ponder the various aspects of reality. The story created unforgettable characters in form of Mahadev, Dadhichi, Daksh, Sati, Parvati, Jalandhar and many more.. each having a characteristic that not only made us love them or loathe them but also think from their point of views.
But then the story cannot be conveyed without Dialogues.. and it would not be wrong to claim that this show gave us the classiest and the most thought provoking dialogues ever... be it "Disha Bhatakna hi Disha ko Paana Hai"  or "Mai Woh jo Nahi hai..Jo nahi hai.. Mai Woh Hoon"  some of the popular ones among many. The Gyan Sabhas of DKDM were a delicious treat of awesome dialogues and the credit for writing them in simple language should go to Subhrat Sinha who has been associated with the show since a long time.

"Naad Adhinam..Jagat Sarvam...!"  Soul of any mythological show is  its Music..! Bawara Bros. and Sandeep Mukherjee's magical renditions took the show to a different level altogether and ofcourse making the audience drown in the blissful sea of calmness. From the soulful composition of the Yajurmantra "Karpurgauram"  to rhythmic beats of various Tandav sequences to the soft romantic tunes for Shiv-Sati-Parvati.. the composers for this show proved their mettle in all the departments. Perfect synchronization with the story and in perfect harmony with the scenes... the music simply enhanced the magic of the show.
The next category that gave DKDM an edge over its contemporary shows were the lustrous Costumes. Deep researches were carried out to work upon the costumes of the characters belonging to the bygone era. Angira Vats and Neerusha made it sure that the costumes were as much authentic as possible.

A hands down tribute to the people involved in the Graphics and VFX, for the Promos as well as the Episodes. Each promo meticulously planned for the next unfolding event, DKDM boasts of some of the best promos in the history of Indian Television. Promo Director Abhishek Chauhan, is to be credited for the promos that set the pulses racing with anticipation. Each promo of Mahadev was akin to international standards. Then there is Hardik Gujjar, the Head of the Graphics and VFX and his team who relentlessly worked to make the mythical beasts alive onscreen or to create a wonderful breathtaking facade of Kailash with such perfection that it seemed a reality.

The tribute would not be complete without acknowledging the team of Editors ,Makeup Artists involved and Director of Photography- Deepak Garg and Project Heads- Animesh Verma and Hiten Ganatra and Exceutive Producer- Nitin Shukla and many others unnamed members of the Devon Ke Dev Mahadev crew down to the spot boys..!! They all have put their hearts and souls and time to make this show truly a Defining Show of our times...!

Lastly in the words of Mohit Raina- "When 250 people are working relentlessly round the clock, the show was bound to create History"
Let us all give a personal standing ovation to this brilliant Crew of Devon    Ke Dev.. Mahadev for giving us a breathtaking and exhilarating  experience    for 3 long years..!!

Three Cheers to the Formidable Strength of DKDM THE CAST&CREW!!

M u s i c is the experience of spirituality and the sound of D a m a r u,  eena and Sitar. Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev, without music would have been incomplete due to the loss of its essence. Be it the divine 'Karpur Gauram', or the funny, 'Thoda Samay Bacha Hai', or the lovely 'Sarvopari Premi' or the heart-touching, ' Shankar Shiv Bhole' or ' Yagyaswaroopaya', music made the situation more lively than ever before.  This post is a beautiful memory of all those songs of Mahadev, which r u l e d  our h e a r t and remain unforgettable in our m i n d s.

V i d e o  L i n k s

Here are some massages from the members for DKDM.

Dear DKDM team,

Congratulations for a fantastic three year run! ๐Ÿ‘ It has been great watching this awesome show - at times laughing my head off at the fantastic comedy ๐Ÿคฃ, at others in a state of complete detachment or of wanting to tear my hair out ๐Ÿ˜ก at the amount of (in my opinion) unnecessary fiction included, but always entertained and always in the process of learning something about something. โญ๏ธ

Even though sometimes experimenting with the story and characters shown has not worked well, overall I think it has been a job well done with the positives outweighing the negatives.

Thank you for making the mythological genre more popular, and for showing us/mentioning so many stories from Hindu mythology/literature and folk tales, including some of the lesser well known ones. Thank you for provoking thought and debate, for inspiring interest in the Hindu mythology/literature, for teaching us things, and for showing us the work of so many actors and other crew members - I think every single person involved has most definitely had an impact! ๐Ÿ˜Š

The show would not be what it is today without the hard work of absolutely everyone/every department involved โญ๏ธ, but in amongst everyone's hard work, thank you for visibly showcasing such fine actors as Mohit Raina, Saurabh Raj Jain and Kumar Hegde. They all deserve much praise for their work (both in DKDM and in their other shows/roles) and I am very happy that all three have gained further recognition because of their involvement in DKDM. ๐Ÿ‘

I hope you have all enjoyed the DKDM journey and your unique work experience with this show as much as we viewers have, overall. Congratulations for all the accolades that the show has received, and once again for a job well done.

Happy 3rd almost-anniversary ๐Ÿ˜ƒ and a fond farewell to the phenomenon that is the TV show "Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev".

From one fan of many,
Arti

A game changer in mythological shows, from its sets to the location shoots to the heart touching music to potraying emotions in God, DKDM has been a show stopper and inspiration in true sense.
Cannot wait to see what master piece comes from Nikhil Sinha. All the best to all the actors, directors, scriptwriters, technical people, SFX team, spots boys, who gave us such a beautiful thing to watch.

DKDM, you have been an wonderful part of my life and it's because of you I started loving Mythology so much that Wikipedia's mythology page was in my Bookmark page's 2nd box, and 1st one was DKDM Forum's url-link, subscribed Life Ok only to get updates on you. Now, Life Ok won't make Life Ok anymore, at least not how It's used to. But, Even infinite has 'finite' attached to it - have to deal with it, I know. Knew you have to go someday but never thought that It'll be this soon. Your presence will surely be missed here. Thank you for enlightening people like me to the Divinity. Farewell, buddy!

The life is a journey, each coming twist and turn teaches us alot. And this exact thought is reflected by DKDM from the very beginning. It was one of the finest mythological show with great cast and crew. All the member of Team DKDM has worked hard to deliver the essence of divinity, dharma and Shivatva. 3 years is itself a long way to go. In between there were many ups and downs but still when it comes to end, it stirs only one question in mind, "Kya hum kuch skhan aur nahi ruk sakte." As what has begun must end, this show will stop. But what it spreads...the knowledge of hidden truth behind every event, reasons and aims behind the divine plays or leelas...will always be in my mind. It helps to concentrate on the inner Godliness, to fight those demons who threaten, to maintain calm mind and to come out strong. Lastly I must say I will miss Mohit/Mahadev dearly...as he becomes my friend, philosopher and guide...whenever I confused, disturbed and faced crisis, miraculously he solved and answered those doubts in his Gyaan Sabha๐Ÿ˜†(must be my halucination)...but mostly he has inspired me to look into myself and beyond my own perception and for that I am and will always be grateful to him. May Mahadev who is everywhere yet nowhere be always with me, us and may Mohit too be with us soon, in another project.
Rimi.

For me DKDM is one of my all time favorite show.3 years ago when PKYEK ended because the channel revamped as Life Ok I hated the channel so much but then I saw DKDM's first promo for the first time and I just got attracted so much that I thought to give it a chance. Now I am so happy that I gave this show a chance and I won't regret it.The very first episode was enough to catch my attention.I just fall in love with Mohit and Mohit-Mouni's chemistry was something to look for.Universe's first love story is so much like our present times love story, the bg music, graphics all are so good that I can't stop myself from watching the show.More then this love each and everyone's acting.I laughed when they were happy,I cried when they were sad,I got angry to see PD's arrogance ๐Ÿ˜†.it was so touching. My favorite scene was Mahadev-Sati's salsa dance scene and their dance scenes, wedding scene,Daksha's Yagya episode. All are so good.Just loved the Mahakali episode,Mahadev's Chandrashekhar avatar,Mahalsa-Martand track etc.Mohit is the first actor for whom I made an Appreciation Thread. Thanks for giving us such a wonderful show which also brought back Mytho/Historical shows trend in Indian Television.

Regards,
Deboleena

For a mytho serial that had to have its eye on the TRPs, DKDM did very well in its coverage of spiritual aspects. Deftly weaving subtle messages within the larger story, the serial managed to emphasize several spiritual points without  sounding overly preachy.

Right from the very first "Na samman ka moh na apaman ka bhay" to the description of the tandav nritya and laya, the viewer got a feeling of being exposed to a larger truth. Every incident crouched within it, a subtle philosophy. This is why probably DKDM will - despites all its shortcomings- stand out as one of the best mytho serials to be made. The balance between entertainment and education that this serial achieved has not been matched by any other.

A prime example is this incident - Parvati's chakras being awakened  and her vision of the meditating Shiva at the end of the tunnel depicting the rise of the Kundalini Shakti till the Sahasrakara chakra, which according to Yoga  Shastras is indeed the meeting place for Shiva and Shakti. A wonderful combination of spirituality and drama.

All though parvati's  tapasya the serial lost no opportunity to explain some spiritual point or  another - whether it was making Parvati aware of the temporal nature  of the human body or how  by rising above the five elements, the human body can be made divine. "Yog se Yogya banana..." was a constant refrain in the early days.

The Ashtanga Yoga track of course brought out the depth of guru shishya relationship and  the connection between body mind and soul. The build up of that track was very well done. In the initial stages, the Adi Guru (representative of the Paramatma ) would make the amnesia ridden Parvati (representing the ignorant jeevatma) do a lot of hard work. It took a lot of effort on Parvati's part to win the Adi Guru's approval at every stage. But as Parvati climbed  the yoga ladder, her labour decreased and his efforts increased, until the final culmination at the Samadhi stage where Shiva asks Parvati to do nothing more than surrender to the Guru; He will take care of the  rest.

While the serial did start losing some of its sheen especially after the multiple replacements of Parvati, it did manage to hold onto what it did best- deliver small doses of spirituality coated with lots of entertainment.

Adieu DKDM.

First I want to thank the entire team of DKDM  and a special thanks to Nikhil Sinha for creating such a masterpiece and  for giving us such a wonderful and beautiful treat. I can't even believe that 3 years have gone past so quickly.
To be completely honest I wasn't even interested in seeing this as I am not very fond of Mythological I never had the patience or the inclinaction to sit through one. But DKDM was different and the way it was presented was pleasing to the eye. This is one show that will be treasured by me all my life. I took a decision to see the first episode only and I have stuck by it completely. I never ever imagined that this serial would be precious and I would fall in love with it so quickly I soon got the name Mahadev ki Deewani and it's a name that I live upto everyday .

The main reason for me loving this show to the point of madness would be Mohit Raina and Mouni Roy one look at them and my eyes glued to them . It was rooted to them and kept asking me who are they. I thought they were perfect in every single way. I couldn't believe that I was seeing two people who were incredibly beautiful in every way on screen.

When Mohit  was introduced onscreen as Mahadev any other existing image I had of him was compeletely wiped out  by the sheer presence of him on screen.
Mouni I have never come accross anyone who looked as beautiful as her. She was so mesmerising and divine to see . I fell in love with her at first sight. One look at  her was enough to transport me to another world which made me believe that standing in front of me were Shiv and Sati and no one else. It also reintroduced me to Mohit and Mouni once again and made me fall completely in love with them,And I thank them both from the bottom of my heart for doing this show.
They are the main reason as to why I fell in love with this show in the first place. Until then all I could see was how perfect and beautiful they were for each other. I also realised that they burned my entire TV screen up just with their presence. I realised that despite not wanting to I just wanted to spend my time gazing at them. Every single eye lock exchanged by Shiv and Sati just made me fall in love with them deeper and deeper when I saw them no one excisted for me.  No matter how  hard I try words fail me at the moment to describe how I feel whenever I saw them together. There was also the countless numbers of episodes and it is hard for me to pinpoint just one episode. but here goes the very first time Sati saw Mahadev. The episode was directed so wonderfully. Sati was shown gazing at the bhel patra with so much love in her eyes and then closing her eyes and taking Mahadev' name and he appearing in her front of her . At that moment Sati forgot everyone and everything in the room. It was such a breathtaking scene Sati and Mahadev looking at each other no words were spoken between the two of them yet a lot of words were said. Mohit and Mouni were outstanding in that scene it spoke volumes. And this is one scene that remains unforgetable to date for me like the rest of their scenes together.

DKDM was everything I wanted to see a stellar cast led by the handsome Mohit Raina  and wonderful music I am yet to come accross any other serial that gives out such wonderful messages. DKDM is one in a million .
DKDM also made me believe in myself and taught me many many things.
I am going to miss this it very much and just cannot beleive that the time has come to bid it goodbye so soon.

Words are not enough to describe how much I love DKDM. I have learnt so much from the show and cannot believe that it is ending next week๐Ÿ˜ญ. It will be so sad not seeing mohit every week day but I know I have all the memories of all the episodes which I will cherish forever.๐Ÿค—

I would also like to thank mohit, mouni, sonarika, pooja and suhasi for all their hard work. ๐Ÿ‘Their dedication and hardwork is commendable. Wish them all the success in their lives. Lastly but not the least the director, producer, script director, every actor who has played in the show and all the crew, spot boys everyone deserve a big round of applause for their hard work.๐Ÿ‘

I look forward to seeing mohit again but for me no one can now or ever play the role of shiva to perfection than he can.

"I was fond of watching mythological and historical shows on TV from childhood. However quality of such shows did go down in 2000s till DKDM came like a breath of fresh air! From day one, the quality of the show's packaging has been visually arresting! The music and songs were beautiful. I am glad it brought back many great veteran actors on TV again. The younger cast took some time to grow on me but eventually I fell in love with all of them, especially Mohit Raina who now literally personifies Lord Shiva for viewers of this show! The show has had the best of young, child and senior cast! Amazing graphics, eye catching promos and posters and most importantly, soulful writing! They took larger than life characters such as Gods and Demons but treated each character in the most humane way giving us an insight into their minds and hearts. This is one show that really made me think, conjured up many debates and led to many lessons and realisations. Watching and discussing this show has been an enriching experience.

I am glad that in trying to modernise ancient stories for younger generation, the makers did not compromise on essence of values. Many shows inspired by success of DKDM came and went, but none was as natural and soulful as this one.
I thank the entire team of creatives, writers, actors, technical team for giving us a spectacle and experience of a lifetime on TV. And congratulate them on all their well deserved achievements and popularity they attained in these 3 years. I thank them for giving us a chance to bond with family and friends over a clean, educative, enlightening show that got us in touch with our roots.  I also thank fans online who have written brilliant analysis, engaged in amazing debate and shared rare gems of information on beliefs and mythology that we never knew of and made watching this show an even better experience!
Thank you DKDM for wonderful memories, new insights, new friends and many joyous moments spent with family watching you! Thank you for making me understand God better and introspect myself.
It's hard to believe this great show is now ending. It will truly be missed and I wonder if we can get such quality on TV again anytime soon or not!  Good bye and heartiest congratulations on completing this amazing journey. I wish all the best to each person associated with DKDM for their future endeavours. May the Lord bless us all! Har Har Mahadev!"

Devon Ke Dev Mahadev was always in a different league and after spanning a successful 3 years now The End is here and I have no words to the amount of gratitude I have for this show.. it gave strength during the times of intense personal grief..but above all it made me open to the reality of life.. the transitory nature of this world.. although one may say that these stuffs can be easily deduced from a sacred scripture, but then the deduction without contemplation is no fun at all.. this is where DKDM comes in... The story of the Lord of Lords..and in each event of his life you discover something that is similar to you.. the demarcation between the God and Human gets blurred and from God's own story you deduce the realities of life (Believe me.. there's no better way than to learn from the Lord of Lords  ) and the way DKDM helped is to simplify the spiritual concepts in a pleasant and graspable way. Many a times we drifted into the mythical realms of the Gods and Demons and many a times we experienced their strongest of emotions...it was a dreamlike journey.
The other factor that attracted me is the pragmatic approach to the age old philosophies of Indian Spirituality and blending it with the current issues was a winner in every sense..
I bid a tearful adieu to a PATH -MAKING SHOW... why path making..because it was the first in every way..
it made a path for the seekers
it made a path for the revival of a dormant genre..
I will forever remember this show for what it gave me..contentment and realization... I thank this show for all the positivity that it filled me with...!!
Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev maybe disappearing from the screen... but it has made its place in my heart... and like Professor Snape, if anyone asks me "After All this Time...??"  my shall be "Always...!!"

Wishing the team and Mohit lots of Success in their future endevours.. May the positivity of Lord Mahadev forever reamins with all of them..!!

Fare Ye Well Team DKDM..!!

THE DIVINE JOURNEY COMES TO AN END
for these three years we had been hooked to the show,
named DEVON KE DEV...MAHADEV
which presented Mouni Roy as Sati,
and Mohit Raina as the Devon Ke Dev.
it successfully presented the divine saga of shiv-sati,
after sati's self-immolation,it introduced the story of Parvati.
lovely Sonarika Bhadoria played the iconic role,
and won the heart of the shiva in samaadhi with her tapasya,
as soon as she came to know, about her adishakti-rahasya.
life and beauty returned to the nature ,
 with shiv-parvati's mahavivaah,
the mahakali episodes lifted up the channel's trp
 with its till-date highest, wah..wah...๐Ÿ‘
tarkasur's torture came to an end,
with the birth of shivaansh ,umaputra Kartikeya,
                          played by Rushiraj Pawar,
the show consisted of a strong supporting-actors
                         like nandi,indra,narad,respectively,played by
                        Kumar Hegde,Jiten Lalwani,Shailesh Dattar.
then came a time, when the chemistry between
Saurabh Raj Jain as vishnu and lakshmi ,played by Ragini Dubey,
  shone with the signature-word 'PRANPRIYE'.
with the birth of vinaayak, sadhil kapoor  entertained us,
                      with his cuteness,

who got beheaded  by mahadev ,
                     and got the divine-name Ganesh.
the opening of the third-eye of mahadev,
led to the birth of jalandhar, the hunk,
as whom Mohit Raina stole the hearts and souls of millions,
  with his awesome spunk.
with the exit of sonarika and entry of Puja Bose,
                       our lips were sealed,
but with the power-packed performance of her as mahakali, mhalsa, bagulamukhi, etc,
                        the injury got healed.
malla-mani entertained us, by chanting mata mata
DKDM presented Mohit Raina in more than 30 characters,
 from mahadev,jalandhar,lohitang,aghora,veerbhadra,to jata,etc.
kratika sengar mesmerised us with her performance as mansa,
Suhasi Dhami entered as bheelni and changed into parvati,
and won our hearts ,with her laasya.

DKDM was not only a show,it was a paramsatya,
a katha of prem, daayitwa, gyan aur bhakti,
which showed the teamwork of the tridevs and tridevis,
  brahma-saraswati,vishnu-lakshmi, and shiva-shakti.
ishwar satya hain, satya hee shiv hai, shiv hee sundar hai,
unhe naa apmaan ka bhey hai, naa sammaan ka moh hai.
thus, this evening came to an end, the Mahagatha,
which set the trend of mythological-drama pratha.
this show raised the level ofndian Television ,
and got recognition ,throughout the nation.
with a heavy-heart,bidding adieu to our beloved DKDM,
                      but we shall never forget,
ki ab chaaro ore gunj rahi hai,
-----------HAR HAR MAHADEV        HAR HAR MAHADEV
                       DEVON KE DEV ...MAHADEV๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I am writing my journey about our beloved serial Devon Ke Dev Mahadev to say thank you to the makers and everyone who has worked for it even for one day whether in front or behind the camera.

When the promo for the serial started i told my family we will give it a try as since childhood we grew up on myth stories told by our parents.  Which we loved, In fact my family has seen the serial from start to finish for their respect for Mahadev.

Returning to the serial till before Mahadev came on earth grief stricken. i was a detached technical analytical whenever i can see the episode watcher though Mohit playing Shiv looked very hot.

When Shiv in grief wondering as human was shown i was still technical but a bit interested.
But i became regular watcher on 8 pm as i was a lot interested in Parvati Shiv.

Meanwhile i had read books on Shiv from Indian and foreign writers due to my sisters. And i was interested to see how it will be shown.

Without realising i was stopping being detached technical and analytical.

I loved the Amarnath cave journey episode and watched it many times as well as the whole Amarnath cave episodes . But i was still technical and analytical if not detached.

And then it happened on episode 168 Parvati met Aghoresvar Shiv, their eyes met and both fought on whose Shivling it was.

After the episode i wanted to read our original scriptures, temple lore, folk tales and tribal legends from all over india.

As well as any books or poem on Shiv Parvati. And their family. [And see all the temples sculpture painting done for them from all over the world]

I wanted to read about Parvati Shiv passionate intense tormenting enlightening love as well as to find their meaning up to my understanding. The truth. I found both and so much more that I haven't even thought of when my journey started.

Having read them i am diverted and thrilled by the navrasa of our myth as well its meaning. But i love the meaning for it gave me love truth devotion innocence and peace.

It is due to both this gift our beloved serial Devon Ke Dev Mahadev is so amazing.

Now back to serial till Sonarika Paravti the journey for me was breath taking and emotional. Forget detached technical analytical. I was just thankful to see what ever little they can show under the restriction they had. I would watch every episode with devotion and love and often have tears without realising.

After Sonarika left i was back to detached technical analytical watching. But i was not and i hope never will be detached to our scriptures and Parvati Shiv family.

After that I watched to see how they will show the myths and for the philosophical, spiritual, devotion wisdom it continued to try to show as much as they can.

For even with its eventual decline in quality shooting due to budget constraint and interests of viewers at large, the depth of their research, the creative way they used myths to entertain and evoke devotion and emotion for Shiv Parvati family that was for one year never left me.

My respect for them never left for they had to do it under very hard restriction and constraint.

TV has set rules about mythology shows.  And in that situation they have done a tremendous achievement.

Minakshi and everyone who questioned and answered for three years i would like to thank, for they helped me in my journey to Parvati Shiv and opened my mind and heart to new ways of thinking which i may not have thought.

Ultimately our thought and truth are our own but every help is a gift and is priceless.

So thank you every one on this wonderful forum. [pun] even the very emotional and interesting fights helped.

I will be writing a post on my reading of myths and understanding of it by months . I hope i will be able to write even a little to show what an amazing creative achievement our beloved show is and will always be.

I would also like to mention Sonarika who portrayed Parvati in our serial Mahadev for one year but what an amazing year it was. I can say it is due to Sonarika Parvati that my interest in our scriptures was sparked. To read about Parvati Shiv. I will be always thankful and amazed at her portrayal. Just the way our scriptures folk tales temple lore move me to tears that one year of Parvati Shiv will always move me to tears.

for the first 6 months and last 1 and half years i will always be thankful to the makers for showing Parvati Shiv so lovingly for even if my Sonarika Parvati was not there Parvati's greatest boon to humanity Parvati Shiva was.

For me it is as simple as tear drops on Parvati cheeks which Shiv wipes away with great love. Enlightenment devotion truth is Parvati taking blessing at Shiv lotus feet. If you can feel the wonder of it in your heart. To surrender to Parvati Shiv . Purusha Prakriti .

Bliss shanti om naad bindu Shivohum.

Just can't believe that show is ending. From the past 3 years we have been so glued to the show that bidding this show makes our hearts filled with sad emotions. Just seems like yesterday when I started watching the show with family and then a whole new journey began. A journey that taught so many things that's impossible for a show to teach us. But above all that this show brought us more closely to Lord Shiva.

I am going to miss so many things, the teachings, the happiness when we rejoiced when Shiva Shakti united and our hearts broke when Shiva Shakti were separated for the sake of the world. We used to get angry when Indra and other demons used to conspire against Mahadev and his family and we jumped in joy when Rishi Dadhichi and Brahma-Vishnu used to settle things.

This show taught us many things that penning it down is impossible. Mohit as Mahadev was perfect that he diminished the line that whether he's human or God in human form. Mouni Roy gave justice to Devi Sati and so all the 3 Parvati's Sonarika Bhadoria, Pooja Bose and Suhasi Dhami. Sadhil was too awesome as Ganesha and so is our edler Ganesha & Rushiraj as Kartikeya was apt for the role. Surendra Pal as Daksh is stillfresh in my hearts so is our Tarakasur played by Raja Premi. We fell in love with Jalandhar but we did not like much off Lohitang. Saurabh Raj Jain was Vishnu relieved Lord Vishnu and we fans call Saurabh our Pranpriya.'

Such is the charm of this show that saying goodbye is way too hard. But they say all good things come to an end but memories still live in our hearts. I wish all the cast and crew all the best for future and pray to Mahadev that all good things come in their way and success touch their feets.
