A Rudraksh adorning
Mahadev's armband decided to meet his other half. Was found by Sati,
daughter of Prajapati Daksh, flowing in water. The connection was
establised. She reached rishi
Dadhichi's ashram, got curious about Mahadev, unaware of the fact, she
was destined
to meet him. Daksh had kept her away from anything connected to Mahadev.
In Daksh's sabha, Rishi Dadhichi asked her to call Mahadev, who
gets pleased even by a Bel patra & devotee's heartfelt call.
Surrounded by
a powerful aura, Mahadev appears. Sati gets mesmarised. Her father Daksh
is
furious.
Mahadev had cut Dakhs's father, Brhma's 5th head with his Trishul, for speaking against Vedas, was one of the reason for Daksh's hatered towards him. Sati was Aadi Shakti, born to unite with Shiv, was born as Daksh's daughter as a result of his severe penanace done on Brhma's instance, who was unable to proceed his creation without Shakti's help. As a result the Ardhanarishwar separated Shakti & lead a lonely life for many Yugas. Brhma, Vishnu decided now it's time for Shiv & Shakti to unite again.
Tarakasur got a boon of getting killed by Mahadev's son, was happy seeing Mahadev single. He sent Vritrasur to kill Sati but Mahadev saved her.
In her Swayamvar, Sati's varmala adorn's Mahadev's neck, who was not invited by Daksh but, couldn't resist as Sati was his Shakti, he had to come. In All Devas, Rishi's presence, they get married. Sati goes to Kailash to live happily with her Shiv.
Daksh plans his final revenge. Organises a Maha yagya. Everyone is invited except Mahadev & Sati. Vishnu is guarding this yagya. Seeing everyone going for the yagya, Sati gets excited to meet all her sisters, parents, insists on going uninvited too because a daughter doesn't need an invitation to visit her parent's house. Trikaldarshi Mahadev, reluctantly allows her, sending Nandi and Ganas with her. In the yagya Daksh insults Sati and Mahadev infront of everyone present . Unable to bear Mahadev's insult, She showes her Aadi Shakti form, through her Yoga Shakti leaves her mortal body.
This news angers Mahadev. His Tandav indicates the impending future. He pulls 2 of his hair strands, Veerbhadra & Bhadrakali appear. They were asked to destroy the yagya & stop anyone trying to oppose them. Veerbhadra fights with Daksh's army, Vishnu, only to surpass all of them, he destroys the yagya & cuts off Daksh's head. On Prasuti's request, Mahadev brings him back to life with a Goat's head.
Carrying Sati's dead body, Mahadev roams everywhere. To get him out of this state, Vishnu cuts her body in 51 parts through his Sudarshan Chakra. Wherever these pcs fell, a Shakti peeth was created. Mahadev gives responsibility of guarding them to Kaal Bhairav. He goes in Samadhi after that.
Shakti wanted a father, who will respect her. She is born as Parvati to Parvatraj Himavan & Mena. Ganga is her elder sister. Since childhood Parvati is attracted towards Shiv puja, at times annoying her mother Mena. Jaya, Vijaya are her friends. Mahadev is in Samadhi in a cave, which is under Himavan's rule. Parvati gets's glimps of Mahadev. Rishi Dadhichi guides her about the real purpose of her life. Sati born as Parvati is now ready to meet Mahadev.
Tormented by Tarakasur, all the Devas decides to help in getting them United. Kamdev is assigned this task. Parvati succeeds in getting Mahadev out of his Samadhi, only to see angry Mahadev opening his 3rd eye turning Kamdev into ashes. He leaves the place. With her parent's permission, Parvati decides to please him as his devotee, starts severe penance in the same cave. How can Mahadev remain unaffected with his devotee's penance. He has to come to unite with Shakti now. Parvati's penance is successfully compelted. But Mena is reluctant as she feels her daughter has lived in all luxuries, deserves better. Himavan manages to convince her.
Mahadev's grand Varyatra leaves Kailsh with all the Devas, Devis, Rishis, Asuras, Humans, Ganas etc. Sitting on Nandi, Mahadev arrives at the wedding venue. Mena is still not convinced. To please her Mahadev takes an enchanting Chandrashekhar form. The wedding takes place. Vishnu fulfills responsibility of Parvati's brother. The newly married couple gets a warm welcome by Lakshmi, Saptarishis, Nandi, Ganas etc at Kailash.
Their son Kartikeya is born initially as 6 babies, found by Kritikas. Parvati unites all in 1. Kartikeya- Skand lives with Kritikas for 6 years. Later takes training in all war arts required to be Deva's senapati. In a war he kills Tarakasur.
Once Parvati feels lonely at Kailsh as Mahadev was in Samadhi from a long time. She creates Vinayak, her son, who loves to eat Modak made by his mother. She goes for bath, instructing Vinayak to stop anyone's entry. Mahadev comes out of his Samadhi, wants to meet Parvati. Vinayak fights with Nandi etc who insists on letting Mahadev come inside. But our mother's true son refuses to go against his mata's wish, is ready to fight with Mahadev. He cuts Vinayak's head. Angry Parvati takes her Aadi Shakti form, starts destroying the World. On Vishnu's advise, Nandi cuts head of an Elephant, who was demon Gajasur. His head is fixed on Vinayak's body. He is named Ganesh, is given boon of being Pratham Pujaya. Some Mushaks comes along the Himavan and Mena to Kailash, only to stay permanently with their friend Ganesh.
Ganesh destroys Kuber's ego, is an ideal son to his parents. Always keeps his promise, is full of wisdom, knowledge. He marries Ridhhi, Budhhi. He distracts Ravan from taking a Shivling to Lanka.
Kartikeya is given duty of guarding South, he marries Devsena.
Tarakasur's sons Vidyunmali, Tarakaksh, Viryavan performed severe penanace , got a boon from Brhma, all 3 of them can get killed by a single arrow only. Maya Danav made 3 Planets for them of Gold, Silver & Iron. Each one was like a big city. They started troubling Shiv Bhaktas, commiting a crime. Mahadev killed all 3 of them, when their movement was aligned, with a single arrow.
Ramayan from Mahadev's pov, inspired by creatives of this show is shown, where Sita is freed from Ravan in the end.
Various Jyotirling's stories are covered. Starting with,
Somnath- Chandra gets free from Daksh's curse. Mahamrityunjay mantra is given to all by Rishi Markandeya.
Mallikarjun- Established by both Mahadev & Parvati, who came to take Kartikeya back to Kailash
Mahakal- In Avantika, he killed Danav Dushan to save his devotees.
Omkareshwar- Mahadev appeared here as Jyotirmaya Omkar. River Narmada flows in Om shape here.
Vaidyanath- Ganesh took form of Vaiju a shepherd boy to stop Ravan from taking Shivling to Lanka.
Nageshwar- Shiv devotees were saved from Daruka.
Bheemashankar- Kumbhkarna's son Demon Bheema wanted to kill Kamrupeshwar by attacking Shivling he was praying to. Bheema was turned into ashes by Mahadev.
Kedarnath- Nar & Narayan did penanace here.
Tryambakeshwar- Pleased with Rishi Gautam and Ahilya's devotion along with Ganga's request, Mahadev stayed here in form of a Jyotirling.
Rameshwar- Before starting the war with Ravan, Ram prayed to Lord Shiv here.
Vishweshvar- Kashi was created by Lord Shiv himself. He lives here as Avimukteswar Jyotirling. During Pralay he protects Kashi by taking it on his Trishul.
Ghrishneshwar- Pleased with Dhushma's devotion, Mahadev restored her dead son's life.
Devraj Indra along with Surya, Varun, Vayu, Agni etc play an important part as they are at times responsible in starting a new chain of events. As a result of rishi Durvasa's curse Lakshmi left Indra. Indra lost his Indrasan and wealth as a result.
During Samudra manthan both Devas & Asuras united to get Divine Gems from the Sea. Started churning the Sea. But strong Halahal came out first. To save the World from poisonous effects, Mahadev drank Halahal but kept in his neck only. His neck turned Blue. He became Neelkanth.
Lakshmi
too appeared
from Samaudra. She married Vishnu. In the end Dhanvatari appeared with
Amrit
Kalsh. While distributing them as Mohini all Devas were given Amrit
first. Asur
Rahu disguised as Deva got Amrit too. Surya & Chandra pointed out
to others. Vishnu immidiately cut his head with Sudarshan chakra. Since
the Asura
already had Amrit, both his head & Body are still alive as Rahu,
Ketu,
at times eclipsing Surya, Chandra to take revenge.
Rishi Dadhichi gave his bones to make Vajra for Indra to kill Vritrasur.
Indra's insecurity, ego were reason for creating Shivansh Jalandhar. His wife Vrinda was a Vishnu devotee. Jalandhar was killed when his protection shield Vrinda's chastity was broken by a trick from her aaradhya.
Shankhchud, who was Shridama in his past birth, has a similar story with Tulsi acting as his shield.
Another Shivansh Lohitang is our Mangal grah now.
Mansa is worshipped to get protection from poison.
Ashoksundari married Nahush, who was cursed by rishi Agastya due to his arrogance, ego.
Deva guru Brihaspati And Asura guru Shukracharya play important role in guiding their Shishyas. Most of the time Asuras disappoint their Guru when their Aasuri tendancies takes over, only to get killed in the end. Shukracharya is a great Mahadev devotee. Mrit Sanjeevani Vidya is given to him as result of his penanace. Brihaspati too had to see Deva's suffering, when his guidance is overlooked.
Malla, Mani were Mahakali devotees. With the intention of using her power to rule over others they tried trapping her through their Tantra- vidya. Parvati was born as Mhalsa. Mahadev came as Martand to help her in killing both Malla, Mani. Ganga as Banai protected, guided Mhalsa.
Parvati gave Usha to Banasur. She trained her as a Guru. Seeing Anirudhh, Krishna's grandson in a dream, got attracted towards him. After getting defeated by Krishna & Balram, Banasur agreed for Usha & Anirudhha's marriage.
Bhasmasur had a boon, of turning things on ashes wherever he puts his palm on. He wanted to try it on Mahadev but Vishnu as Mohini tricked him. While dancing with Mohini. He puts his palm on his own head, thus killing himself.
Spiritual
significance, Gyan are an important aspect of this show. Kundalini, 7 chakras,
Ashtang Yoga, Tantra taught to Parvati by Aadi Guru Mahadev, Secret of Munda in
the cave etc are very well covered aspects.
Gyan sabha, where Mahadev sitting under a tree enlightens rishis including Saptarishis, Bhrigu, Kashyap, Atri, Agastya, Markandeya etc . With occasional questions asked by Ganesh, Narad, Kartikeya, Parvati, other rishis, devotees to Mahadev is liked by many of us. Rishi Bhringi's delusion about the Shakti was cleared in one of the Gyansabha. Devarshi Narad is always around to help in whatever manner he can. Rishi Piplad, like his father is an ardent Mahadev bhakt.
Mahadev's various forms- Mahakal, Ardhnarishwar, Chandrashekhar, Tripurari, Aadi Guru, Mahayogi, Aghori, Yaksh, Pinakpani, etc are shown.
Aadi
Shakti's
Nav Durga, 10 Mahavidya form's glimps are shown covering their
significance. For betterment of the World she takes different births too
eg. Mhalsa,
Kanyakumari. As Mahakali she killed Raktabeej, Andhak. As Durga, she
killed Dhumralochan, Mahishasur etc.
Kanyakumari is the last story covered. Parvati's this form is to kill Banasur. He got a boon from Mahadev of getting killed by a Kumari Kanya. Wanting to be immortal, he tries his best to create circumstances to avoid his death, but gets killed by Kumari.
Mahadev's all the moves are witnessed by Brhma, Vishnu, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Narad, Devas from Ksheersagar, Brhmaloka, Swarga. They often play an active role in disguise or their real form with Mahadev, Parvati to make sure, the desired result is achieved.
These
are some of the stories covered in this show. It wasn't possible add
all the tracks shown, please accept my apologies for the same.
DKDM has taught us a lot, changed our perspective, initiated the urge to know more about our Spiritual treasure, which is an unexceptional achivement for a tv show.
Bidding a teary farewell to the most amazing & excellent show, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev.

THE IDEA..THE CONCEPT AND A MIRACLE ON SCREEN...!!Could we have ever imagined the most magnificent show of our times to manifest itself without multiple brilliant minds working day and night to give shape to an Idea... An Idea to break the norms of conventional mythological shows and present a show that with a novel approach that would not only change the face of a genre but will pave the way for its revival... All these objectives began as a teensy little idea ...and it resulted in fame not only in India but worldwide... but more than material gains of name and fame, Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev had a magic that went straight through your heart and affected you deep down, compelled you think, opened up our minds to visualize the realities of life in a different perspective. Also noteworthy is the fact that the makers sought to give it a contemporary touch in terms of content. There were the traditional stories showcased aesthetically, and with similar finesse the makers did not shy away to include certain fictional tracks to deal with burning issues like environment protection, importance of education and adoption to name a few."Mahadev was different"... the statement reiterated infinite times and there were many reasons for that.. be it the treatment of the story or improved graphics or superior acting skills etc. It may have been one these reasons, but still there was something that DKDM offered, that had a spiritual depth which was unique for daily soap to give out such ethereal effect considering that they are a race against time. Here we must acknowledge the Inspiration behind the show.. the works of noted mythologist Devdutt Pattnaik formed the base upon which the show developed. His works are known for giving out simplest of interpretation to the deepest of our land's treasure trove spiritual secrets. With such inspiration, DKDM beautifully depicted Shiva's journey from a lonely stoic hermit to an involved householder, holding two contradictory concepts in a seamless balance.Inspiration brings us to the Concept and Research for the show. And the credit for this goes to Aniruddh Pathak and Bodhisattva the brains behind the show, and equally involved with it was Nikhil Sinha, the Director and Producer. Inspired by Devdutt's interpretations these men envisioned this show which was to become a feat for reviving a dormant genre. it was under the auspices and observant eyes of Anirudh Pathak, and Nikhil Sinha that the audience could feast their eyes with some spectacular performances. Their meticulous efforts to find the perfect cast (to them we owe the perfect Mahadev in Mohit Raina), to bring the bygone era alive through the costumes and graphics and music, to bring alive the Puranic era where we witnessed the events as if live or as if we felt the emotions of the characters directly.Inspiration and Concept are the abstract form that needs a shape in form of Story and Screenplay, and DKDM had been blessed with class writers. Unlike previous shows of this genre where the stories from the Puranas were copied in toto with nothing as one may call as interesting, the DKDM style of storytelling was more of a daily soap nature..with dramatic twists and turns given to a story but not fiddling with the essence.. so meanwhile it was always the regular victory of good over evil added with a little touch of drama... but this time the audience connected to the stories, they were the part of the character's trial and tribulations. From the likes of Nilay Upadhyayay to Mihir Bhuta to Brijmohan Pandey to CL Saini to Utkarsh Naithani.. all have contributed their valuable ideas to covert the mythical tales into stories easily graspable by the audience. If there was crisp drama laced with innate spiritual essence then there was a story from the point of view of the antagonists, then again there were stories that filled your hearts with inexplicable bliss. All in all the stories helped to translate the abstract into reality. The story created the famous chemistries, the story possessed our minds, compelled us to ponder the various aspects of reality. The story created unforgettable characters in form of Mahadev, Dadhichi, Daksh, Sati, Parvati, Jalandhar and many more.. each having a characteristic that not only made us love them or loathe them but also think from their point of views. But then the story cannot be conveyed without Dialogues.. and it would not be wrong to claim that this show gave us the classiest and the most thought provoking dialogues ever... be it "Disha Bhatakna hi Disha ko Paana Hai" or "Mai Woh jo Nahi hai..Jo nahi hai.. Mai Woh Hoon" some of the popular ones among many. The Gyan Sabhas of DKDM were a delicious treat of awesome dialogues and the credit for writing them in simple language should go to Subhrat Sinha who has been associated with the show since a long time."Naad Adhinam..Jagat Sarvam...!" Soul of any mythological show is its Music..! Bawara Bros. and Sandeep Mukherjee's magical renditions took the show to a different level altogether and ofcourse making the audience drown in the blissful sea of calmness. From the soulful composition of the Yajurmantra "Karpurgauram" to rhythmic beats of various Tandav sequences to the soft romantic tunes for Shiv-Sati-Parvati.. the composers for this show proved their mettle in all the departments. Perfect synchronization with the story and in perfect harmony with the scenes... the music simply enhanced the magic of the show. The next category that gave DKDM an edge over its contemporary shows were the lustrous Costumes. Deep researches were carried out to work upon the costumes of the characters belonging to the bygone era. Angira Vats and Neerusha made it sure that the costumes were as much authentic as possible.A hands down tribute to the people involved in the Graphics and VFX, for the Promos as well as the Episodes. Each promo meticulously planned for the next unfolding event, DKDM boasts of some of the best promos in the history of Indian Television. Promo Director Abhishek Chauhan, is to be credited for the promos that set the pulses racing with anticipation. Each promo of Mahadev was akin to international standards. Then there is Hardik Gujjar, the Head of the Graphics and VFX and his team who relentlessly worked to make the mythical beasts alive onscreen or to create a wonderful breathtaking facade of Kailash with such perfection that it seemed a reality. The tribute would not be complete without acknowledging the team of Editors ,Makeup Artists involved and Director of Photography- Deepak Garg and Project Heads- Animesh Verma and Hiten Ganatra and Exceutive Producer- Nitin Shukla and many others unnamed members of the Devon Ke Dev Mahadev crew down to the spot boys..!! They all have put their hearts and souls and time to make this show truly a Defining Show of our times...!Lastly in the words of Mohit Raina- "When 250 people are working relentlessly round the clock, the show was bound to create History"Let us all give a personal standing ovation to this brilliant Crew of Devon Ke Dev.. Mahadev for giving us a breathtaking and exhilarating experience for 3 long years..!!Three Cheers to the Formidable Strength of DKDM THE CAST&CREW!!By

For a mytho serial that had to have its eye on the TRPs, DKDM did very well in its coverage of spiritual aspects. Deftly weaving subtle messages within the larger story, the serial managed to emphasize several spiritual points without sounding overly preachy.
Just can't believe that show is ending. From the past 3 years we have been so glued to the show that bidding this show makes our hearts filled with sad emotions. Just seems like yesterday when I started watching the show with family and then a whole new journey began. A journey that taught so many things that's impossible for a show to teach us. But above all that this show brought us more closely to Lord Shiva.
I am going to miss so many things, the teachings, the happiness when we rejoiced when Shiva Shakti united and our hearts broke when Shiva Shakti were separated for the sake of the world. We used to get angry when Indra and other demons used to conspire against Mahadev and his family and we jumped in joy when Rishi Dadhichi and Brahma-Vishnu used to settle things.
This show taught us many things that penning it down is impossible. Mohit as Mahadev was perfect that he diminished the line that whether he's human or God in human form. Mouni Roy gave justice to Devi Sati and so all the 3 Parvati's Sonarika Bhadoria, Pooja Bose and Suhasi Dhami. Sadhil was too awesome as Ganesha and so is our edler Ganesha & Rushiraj as Kartikeya was apt for the role. Surendra Pal as Daksh is stillfresh in my hearts so is our Tarakasur played by Raja Premi. We fell in love with Jalandhar but we did not like much off Lohitang. Saurabh Raj Jain was Vishnu relieved Lord Vishnu and we fans call Saurabh our Pranpriya.'
Such is the charm of this show that saying goodbye is way too hard. But they say all good things come to an end but memories still live in our hearts. I wish all the cast and crew all the best for future and pray to Mahadev that all good things come in their way and success touch their feets.
