Chapter-20
(Part-1)
He waits for a minute or two trying his
level best to be as patient as possible even though he could feel that his
heart would burst out of his chest and
beat because it is beating at a very fast pace, but when he gets no response.
His impatience begins to grow beyond heights and with every passing second of
silence he could feel something grow inside him, an emotion and one of the
worst emotion he could ever feel. One emotion called fear. It sounded stupid
that Shehanshah was afraid; as he had been know as a dauntless warrior. He
never feared anything in life not even death. What he feared only and the most
is separation from his beloved, which he could not bear or even imagine after
the past events. Yes, silence is golden. It sometimes speaks more than words
can ever do, but right know this silence seemed deadly to him. Deadlier than
anything, he could feel as if his world has begun to fall apart. He could not
control his anxiety; he thinks maybe he is to early, maybe she is sleeping? His
hearts seems to scream at him and saying-SLEEPING... what on earth or
the universe makes you think that she must be sleeping? After everything she
heard yesterday night from the witch's mouth which she should have heard only
from you, she is sleeping? That is dumbest explanation you ever given to pacify
yourself. Just imagine you come to know from someone else that Jodha desires to
divorce you? She never comes and
explains why and then you will sleep peacefully. When you are feeling that your
whole world is falling apart. You will sleep? Sleep will be miles away from
your eyes? Only tears... Before Jalals heart could speak further it seemed
that his mind boomed in saying- Shut up! You are scaring the shit out of me.
She is safe ok, nothing has happened to her. See I'll prove it, you cannot be
always right. At least not right now, Jalal's inner turmoil is eating him
inside. The whole night he has gone through shit and his heart rather than
pacifying him is scaring him. Even though Jalal thought composing himself I
need to know what has she done last night to take a step forward in the right
direction so he asks a soldier nearby when had he last seen Jodha? To which the
soldier replies when he had left and he also tells that she has not had her
dinner, plus he also tells Jalal about the sounds that were coming from her
room last night. This is enough to scare the life out of Jalal, whatever way he
had tried to curb the fear inside him seemed useless. He decides to knock the
door for one last time. So he does murmuring under his breath - please
Allah... but again he gets no response. He could not wait further leave for a
second even for a nano-second he tries to push open the door and he succeeds in
doing so, thankfully it's not bolted. A feeling of relief enters his heart but
soon evades when he sees the condition of the chamber. He smells dry blood and
the chamber seems to be hit by a storm or even worse a tornado. The chamber looked as if a war had been waged
in it. With all it its stuffs thrown here and there, all things seemed out of
order. The things of dressing table were on the floor. Jalal absorbs every
detail of the room and that is when Jalal sees a frame of a personal mirror but
a query is about to rise in his mind where is the mirror? When he sees glass pieces scattered on the
floor, and even worse some were dipped in blood. No second thoughts he knew who
this blood belonged to. Tears begin to brim in his eyes. Tears begin to flow
ceaselessly as if promising never to stop when he sees the bed covers soaked in
blood. The first question which arises in his heart is that is she alright? Has
she tried to suicide again? But the most important queries that struck him are
where she is? He pushes these thoughts aside and tries to find her in the mess;
he keeps on saying- Jodha please. Do not hurt yourself because of me. He wants
to find her as soon as possible, but his limbs seem to not support him, his
legs very shaky by now. He could feel his whole body trembling with fear of
what he might see next may be enough for his heart to stop beating. He keeps on
saying -Plzzz. Jodha...he could speak no further when he sees her lying
on the cold, hard marble floor. There is no rug underneath; he seems to have
miraculously gained his energy back. He runs to her and for a moment when he
sees her pale and lifeless body on the floor he thinks is shee.. No his heart
screams... What relieves him further is slight movement of her chest, He
absorbs her disturbing persona. Her face is not visible as she turned it
towards the wall. He touches her all he could feel is her hot body. The cold
touch against her warm body woke her up; she gets scared and gets up with a
jolt. The moment she sees' Jalal everything that happened yesterday night seems
so fresh. She could see in his eyes, particularly
his beautiful and dazzling orbs immersed in pain and were begging forgiveness
for not coming yesterday night. Jalal absorbed what he sees her hair were a
mess and her eyes were ready and puffy due to continuous crying and her
beautiful brown orbs were immersed in pain of betrayal. He wanted to tell her
he has not betrayed her, he loves her a lot; he had been stuck with some work
so he could not make it to her last night. She thinks if he is upset with what
happened yesterday night he could have explained. Why did he not inform her?
Why? She assumes what she thought that he is playing with her feeling is it
wrong? But then whatever she thought yesterday night if all of that is wrong,
why did he not give her an explanation. That's all she needed she will not
fight with him she promises. The next moment she could feel his fingers on her
checks wiping her tears says- Hume muaff kar do Jodha voh. Hume kal rat...
She understood everything she needed no further explanation as his eyes spoke
volumes. She thinks she has been a fool, he must have been busy. She curses
herself for acting like a child and coming to conclusion without hearing what
he had to say. She hugged him and he also hugged her back with a tight grip promising
to never let go. After last night's incident he feared whether ever in his
lifetime he will be able to hug her? He is unable to comprehend why on earth
she is hugging him when all she should do is fight with him and demand
explanations. Has she forgiven me? Yes, his heart shouts. He smiles at this
realization. All her desires of hearing
explanation were vanished into thin air and so did his fears. Jodha says- Hume
koi safaiye (explanation) dene ki jarorat nahi hai. Jaror apki koi majobri rahi
hogi.Hume shama karna humne apke bare mai galat socha. Jalal is suprised by her
answer he did not expect this from her. He kissed her forehead gently while
gently stroking her hair and he asks her - Ap humse naraz nahi hai? Jodha
replies while wiping his tears which had begin to flow again - hum the
shehanshah par apki ankhon ne hume sab kuch samjha diya. She then gently kisses
on his forehead and says hume shama karna humne apko dara diya na? Jalal
slightly nodded and says - koi bat nahi. Jalal is touched by her love from him.
He thought he had lost her forever, but he learned a new lesson that no matter
what nothing could separate them.
