Jodha Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a political marriage of convenience saga between a Mughal emperor, Akbar, and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa. But much more then that it's the marriage of contrasts.

Jallaludin Mohommad (Akbar) who had inherited his father, Humayan's Mughal Empire at the age of 13, after his father's death, had been brought up almost like a trained assassin by Bairam Khan, his father's supreme commander. Hard-nosed, rough, tough and heartless... and priding himself on the each of those facets of his personality, the only thing Akbar had learnt was to expand his empire - at the cost of others lives - at the cost of emotions - at the cost of love - the word he was never familiar with.

Whilst Jodha, the daughter of Raja Bharmal, the Rajput King of Amer (one of the most affluent Rajput Kingdom's of its time) valued each of those emotions - valued the life of even the birds and bees of her kingdom - she only hated the Mughal's whom she felt were intruding upon her land, and wanted to oust them from Rajputana, along with their Emperor Jallaluddin, whom she hated with her heart.

Little did Akbar know at the time of his marriage to Jodha, the fiery Rajput princess, in order to expand his empire into Rajputana, the land of the Valiant Rajputs, he would in turn be embarking upon a new journey - the journey of true love - he would discover the heart which he never felt he had - and it would throb for its rightful lover - Jodha.

This is the summary of the Serial Jodha Akbar on Zee TV web sites plus their sounding disclaimer of storyline daily.

So I will use it as a guide to what am about to say concerning the journey so far achieved.

CV team have given us a very beautiful story so far in 95% fiction with 5% history in order to demonstrate the love this two souls shared when they meet each other right from hate to love. Until recently when they made a fictional story to showcase the weakness of Jalal which has the ability to threaten the love both share. We were shown Jalal so happy that his dream of becoming a father was fulfilled and all of a sudden his dreams came down crashing on him. Jalal did not know how to deal with such strong emotions and disappointment he became selfish and did not think about anyone but his lost, pain alone. Afterwards we were shown how this anger he felt was gradually turned into hate toward God and his lost of faith in Him. Due to that he became violent and shut himself from love and God. He went on a rampage killing to share blood as a warrior before and thought during those days he felt no pain nor remorse of his actions so he can return to it easily. To his disappointment the heart in him cannot be changed again and the love for God and humanity that have been built cannot be undone by him nor anyone for that matter though his weakness as a man still persist that is he becomes 'a monster when he is angry with anyone'!

We also saw that a series of leaps happened and apart from Salim whose birth we witnessed in a marathon race of episodes some cute little kids just appeared like angels in Agra palace (either their spirits relocated from the war to Agra palace and ready to give Jalal a showcase of hate and trouble only CV team knows) to show that after sometime Jalal was blessed with many children from his beloved Jodha and other wives/concubines in his harem. He is a father of many kids and a happy one however his focus is more on the heir to the throne, his upbringing. This indeed will open up so many issues in this family set up and we all know this is what CV team want drama in the harem!

This journey of love can't continue without showing family dynamics that are capable of bring conflicts in the love Jodha and Jalal share so I see this as a new phase which they will have to go through with difficulty and still come together in the end. The only thing I can guess in the minds of Ekta and CV team considering what they have shown so far is that they want to show that despite Jalal having many wives/concubines, bonding relationship with Salima and Ruky who were also his cousins he had a unique relationship with Jodha which was more intimate and love centered than all the others and though she faced so much opposition in this family Jodha always stood by Jalal and loved him: though he hurt her, disappointed her many times in this journey she was and will always be there her Shanshen. The clear picture here also looks likes Jalal was the one who found true love in Jodha and it was not Jalal who gave the true love but rather Jodha was the one who loved Jalal unconditionally ( as Zee quoted so time ago a woman can't change a man because she loves him but the man can 'change himself' because he loves her) and so Jalal is the one drawn to Jodha by her selfless nature and unconditional love for him and he in return love her deeply and would eventually change for her. Jalal loved her first though and Jodha fell in love too later but she is the one who is consistent in this love given it selflessly and unconditionally whereas Jalal keeps stumbling. Will Jalal finally understand how deeply Jodha's love is for him totally someday? This reminded me of the heart to heart talk Jalal and Hamida had when he was about to marry Benazier that yes he has many wives and concubines at his beck and call but he needs to identify his soul mate among them then he will never feel lonely again. So far so good he seems to have identify her beautiful heart among the lot of beautiful faces around him.

So lets say that Jalal in his weakness(anger) pain and lose he stumbled and made a mistake for not speaking to Jodha for three years yet that doesn't mean the love in his heart ceased or his heart stopped 'throb for its rightful lover - Jodha in fact because his heart will never stop throbbing for its rightful lover Jalal's heart will eventually no matter what lead him to Jodha. My plead to JA fans is that as Jodha loved Jalal so much and has forgiven him even when he did not asked can we also who love Jodha and Jalal understand that yes one can make mistake and to err is human and to forgive is divine and forget and forgive Jalal too.

The stage is set for a new generation of good and bad, love and hate in this Journey of Jodha Akbar and how they face this phase is also another interesting venture I guess. Since we all are aware already that CV team loves to dramatized everything and put their leads in a situation where all the burden is on them hmm am sure some may not be happy but one thing I hope I am right about is that it is still about Jodha and Akbar till the very end.

Things looks cute and joyous in Agra palace but for how long? Yes it looks like the storm is approaching gently from an unexpected direction and there will be others who will take advantage of this to the fullest. Oh and we know also that for the love journey to thrive and survive come what may Jodha will make mistakes, Jalal likewise will make mistakes and will stumble because he is the one with the most baggage in this journey of love and needs to adjust and shake some off to make this journey meaningful and true.

Lets put history aside because the reality is very obvious it is fiction all the way with 5% history.

Very nicely expressed thoughts Nanayaa623. 😊

Yes, there have been several ups and downs in the lives of Jodha and Jalal, as conceived and directed by the Creatives. Some aspects of the fictional storyline have been acceptable, most of them have been ridiculous and completely unacceptable.
The story that started on a grand note and had us glued to it,has suddenly lost its charm, due to the overt importance given to undesirable evil characters. The character of the hostile chief consort of the emperor Rukaiyya Begum, is given more screen time and the story started focussing on her wicked plans that were being successful.

The main female protagonist of the show Jodha, who is considered to be a fiery Rajput princess is anything but fiery. She is being shown as submissive to the high-handed Rukaiyya, offering her nurse cum maid services😡 during a fake pregnancy and generally being treated like a baandhi herself.

The best form of insult to the favorite queen of Jalluddin Mohammad, came from the shehenshah himself. How? He accuses her of being an irresponsible mother by leaving baby Hussein in the care of baandhis and spending intimate moments with him, thereby giving his dear cousins who have travelled all the way from Lahore to the Agra mahal, an opportunity to poison baby Hussein. He then proceeds to insult her further, by distancing himself from her for three years, leaving her to deal with the grief of losing both her babies on her own, while he finds solace with one /many of his other queens.

Another dreadful portrayal by the Creatives, is Akbar's rash and impetuous decision to attack and plunder the fort of Chittorgarh.

I find it extremely hard to accept the story as one of epic love, especially because, the Creatives have confused themselves and us in their portrayal of true love between Jodha and Akbar.
They initially showed us Jalal literally bringing Jodha back from the threshold of death after she had consumed the poison meant for him. Yet, it is the same Jalal who is shown as insensitively accusing and shunning her from his life, while she is quietly and helplessly bearing it all.

This is no way to depict Akbar who in reality, greatly loved and respected Jodha.

The Creatives have disfigured the characters of both Jalal and Jodha, beyond repair.

It is because of my love for Jodha and Jalal that I'm still attached to this serial.I agree with your view that we should set history aside and watch it assuming that it is a regular soap, then accepting the horrible depiction of characters will be easy on us.

Nice post dear...I appreciate ur efforts...but action speak louder then words...No matter how many Jo and Jallu's scenes they give now...It will look fake completely...A man even if he not loved a woman will stand by the mother of his kids but here the situation is completely opposite...Jalal not talking with Jodha for three years can not be pushed under the carpet by cvs...

Ela I understand you complete and I think this was a mistake I am sure the CVs team thought they could easily get away with but not so fast I guess and they have read and noticed the displeasure all over am sure. It is rather unfortunate they took this route to scape certain events and justify other.

Am sure by now they have their hands on their head in regret so lets please forgive them and give them a second chance.😉

I know you are not happy and I was not either but I use the old episodes as therapy and it worked for me to believe that something good can still come out of this mess.

I don't know whose idea was to take this shabby short cut Charu and am very sure as some of us are bashing them left and right of FB and twitter they are biting their finger tips by now but the stain is already on this beautiful love they have created lets give them a chance to redeem themselves and if they fail to and still come up with crap again by taking us for a walk then I will be the next cheerleader on twitter this time around.

As for the characters it is all in the name of drama and imagination running wild on behalf of the creatives and I hope I would soon have by Jodha back on the tough side. I have a nagging feeling that soon Jodha would have an outburst.

It is true we are all still here only for Pari and Rajat and we should support them till the very end as they have both done a wonderful job if we all leave because of the CV team it will go against them and since we all know they are not quitting we should try not to abandon them in the middle too because of the CV and Ekta.😳

Thank u for this wonderful Post

I have never been a fan of serials and by mistake while flipping through Channels watched the scene where Jalal Meets Jodha at the Gangour festival and I fell in love with this pair and got so emotionally attached to them. I never missed an episode of JA till last week.Bore everything for AKdha/Parijat and moved on with lots of positivity but now I am just not able to watch it with the same Passion.

I could tolerate everything but am not able to accept that Jalal did not talk to Jodha for 3 years. The rest all I am able to forget and forgive but this one incident I am not able to remove from my mind.Regarding Salima I am going to watch the episode to air. Why do I feel we will never get to see that episode and everything will be left in the air for us to guess what we want it to be.

CvS have just messed it up all and not sure how they are going to fix it. I guess viewers after a while will forget what happened earlier and just move on.

Like you I am not able to watch old episodes as the current situation is bugging me. Probably because I bottled up all my frustrations and kept moving hoping for the best and last week I just lost all my patience. Now a days it just takes me 3 to 4 mins to watch the episode.

as u said, to me Jodha is the one who loves Jalal unconditionally and is very committed to their marriage. Jalal does love Jodha but he has not yet reached the level where Jodha is right now. He is eventually going to get there.
