Yeah I agree. Maa Kali Puja is one of the hardest Pujas & u have to do it in the proper way.
Actually I also dont go pandal hopping during Kali Puja. I visit the simple puja which we do together in our locality back in my hometown. This will be my first Puja as well as Diwali outside hometown. I also heard Kali Puja in Kol has different essence which I noticed yesterday a bit different than my hometown. I wanted to see Kali Puja here coz there is a possibility that I may get posted to another city by mid-next year.
