BD gets ready to go to office. He bends down to get something from the floor and his trousers tears up badly from the rear. Shivay teases him mercilessly. Bobby sees the torn trousers and asks him to hand it over to her so that she can get rid of it. BD tells her that it's his lucky trousers and tells Bobby to stitch it up for him. Shivay asks BD to get a new pair of trousers for himself and BD tells him of his expected expenses this Diwali. Shivay feels guilty as BD puts his own needs on the backburner. BD suggests Shivay to make him rich somehow so as to help him out of his financial limitations, for eg. winning a lottery. Bobby returns with the stitched trousers and BD gets ready and sets out for his office.

Later on BD's colleague Asthana takes him to a lottery center and asks the vendor for a ticket. He tries to convince BD to purchase a lottery ticket for himself. BD initially refuses, stating that purchasing lottery tickets are like participating in gamble which he disapproves. But after much persuasion from Asthana, the vendor and a local fortuneteller, BD gives in and purchases a lottery ticket whose 1st prize amounts to Rs.50 lakh.

BD returns home and comes to know that Papaji and Bobby has gone to see Khanna Sahab', who has won lottery worth Rs.11 lakh. He tells them that he too has purchased a lottery ticket, whose 1st prize amounted to Rs.50 lakh and is expecting to win the same next morning as it has been confirmed by three things - the vendor selling the tickets, the fortuneteller and his lucky black trousers in which he's going to keep the ticket till he wins the amount. Bablu immediately places order for a playstation and BD promises to gift Babli a scooty on winning the lottery. Shivay asks for his friendship and faith in Him, as people often forget Him in times of prosperity. BD agrees and promises a life of luxury to his family and daydreams of the same.

Next morning BD wakes up and puts the lottery ticket in his lucky black trousers, after promising Bobby a Europe tour once he wins the lottery.  He rushes to the lottery center and comes to know that he has indeed won the 1st prize worth Rs.50 lakh. When the vendor asks him to show his ticket, BD remembers putting it in his lucky black trousers and rushes back home to collect it. In the meanwhile, Bobby exchanges the same black trousers for a utensil from a vendor. BD reaches home and breaks the news of his win and the entire family rejoices, while Bobby faints in joy. They sprinkle water on her and BD tells everyone about the ticket being kept in his lucky black trousers, which resulted in his win. Bobby tells him that she had already exchanged his trousers for a utensil and the lottery ticket is thus lost, and now it's BD's turn to faint. Shivay laughs at this turn of fate. On regaining his consciousness, BD decides to find out his lucky trousers by all means.

Together the entire family meets Mithailal, at whose shop the vendor-woman had milk. Initially Mithailal denies knowing the woman, but when Bobby spills the beans about the lottery, he agrees to help. Asthana reaches there and congratulates BD on winning the lottery. On coming to know what transpired, they all decided to join the search in lieu of getting their shares from the money. Together they manage to find Lachili, the vendor-woman, who tells them that she has given away the same trousers in charity to a beggar. Bobby again spills the beans in her agitation and Lachili too demands her share in the money and sets out to search for the beggar.

In the meanwhile, Govardhan comes across the beggar and takes the trousers from him for BD, since he doesn't like visiting people empty-handed and returning empty-stomach. He reaches BD's house to find the entire family missing, except Papaji. He hands over the gift-wrapped trousers to Papaji claiming to get them from the showroom and leaves. On the other hand, the family finds out the beggar, who on enquiring tells them that the trousers have been taken away by a person. Asthana tries to bribe him into sketching the portrait of the person and the beggar draws random pictures. Finally when Bobby again spills the beans, the beggar agrees to help them in lieu of getting his share from the money. An exasperated BD asks Shivay for help and even offers Him a share of his money, the money that doesn't even exist in the first place. When the sketch is done, everyone realizes that Govardhan has taken the trousers and they run to find him. Shivay laments that everyone has left Him behind in their quest and greed for money.

The team finds Govardhan praying in the temple and asks him about the trousers, that he purchased from the beggar. Govardhan initially refused to divulge the details, but when BD told him about the lottery ticket he directs them to Papaji. Back at the house, Papaji opens the packet to find a pair of black trousers as a gift for BD. He decides to burn the trousers, considering the color black to be unlucky for BD and set it ablaze. BD and the entire group rushes into the house to see his lucky trousers containing the lottery ticket in flames. With much effort, they finally manage to douse the flames and recover the ticket safe and sound. The entire family rejoices and BD decides to take the ticket to the lottery center to claim his prize money. At this moment, the lottery vendor himself arrives at BD's house and hands him over his actual prize money - Rs.5000, apologizing for his mistake while declaring the numbers. Everyone is left heartbroken and BD hands over the entire amount to the people, asking them to divide it amongst themselves. BD laments on the fate of the common man that never shines despite struggles. Shivay reminds him that the fate of man doesn't shine by lottery prizes, but by hard work and encourages him to work hard, for He is always with him.
