Symbolism in a Painting.. - Blooming Flowers in the wall painting..

Scold me im crazy.. Im crazy on paintings and art stuff.. be it murals or any decorative pieces.. and a huge Fan of Symbolisms..this is my first try ..Not sure correct or not..but writing down what Im feeling..

This painting behind APJ in Kalindis House.. It was a fight between Kalindi and APJ ..She gives kheer and he pours water after heated argument. One thing captured me was the wall painting..

As the rule goes for painting it is always come from

  1. Top to Bottom and Left to Right ..
  2. From back ground to main focused figure..
  3. Light to dark or Dark to Light ..depending on the type of portrait ..

This is a landscape picture on the wall..Two people coming from deep inside the forest towards LIGHT ..BROAD DAY LIGHT .. where the Trees are bloomed with multicolour flowers..

I take here Colors as we use it for painting ..

VIBGYOR.. from Violet .. Indigo .. then to Red ..Transition of colors from Dark to Light and Bright..

Here in the picture too it is the same.. The people say two of them ..Husband and wife , or two friends or two related ones theya re returning after work from the forest ..from deep inside to their homes..

This we can see in Farm houses which are in mountains or hills or estates in mountains..Tribes they follow this life style.. Early morning they go ..by evening before sun sets they return with their cattle and bundle of wood in head for their cooking..

Here I can relate APJ and Kalindi ..where two ..Son and Mother ..Joining..where Mother will bring him out from his Dark side to the BLOOMY SIDE which will have colors in life..as how AStha did for Shlok..similar to that..

There are stories too .. moral ones.. where for not getting lost , the kids they mark on the trees and go inside..if they are lost ..they come back to the spot where they started.

I can relate to Seasons too..

Symbolic Meaning of Seasons

Spring:
Another transitional season, spring is a time of phenomenal renewal. The earth reawakens from her slumber, and explodes with new life. In our own lives, Spring can be symbolic of starting new projects, sewing new seeds and coming forth with new ideas. This is also a time to contemplate health and physical well-being too. Be refreshed and prepare for your soulful debut! ..

APJ will start thinking like his mother as own ..not an enemy

Summer:
In a word - 'PARTY!' And our host is the sun whose presence is fierce and utterly forthright on the scene. Days are longer and the rays of the sun dissolve all shadows in our lives. No hiding, no secrets, no darkness. Summer is a time of light, joviality, expression and wholehearted action. To be sure, this season is symbolic of the vitality inherent within every heart.

APJ Will change his attitude and come openly..

Autumn:
It's a season of transition, it embodies a culmination - it's Nature's 'last hoorah!' before retiring into winter's slumbering mood. This is a hustle-bustle-boogie down month as preparations are made. Autumn is symbolic of the activity inspired by the fire-glo radiance of the changing foliage we see this time of year. This is a time of taking stock of all the bounty and provision we've been afforded. A time for itemizing our blessings and recounting our joys.

Here APJ might take in Astha and Shlok as family..

Winter:
It's a season governed by the recluse, the hermit. Activity gives way to dormancy. Life is still, indwelling and silent. This is a time of introversion, contemplation and going within. Symbolic winter invites us to quiet the mind, still the soul, and crystallize our inner workings. This is a time to ice skate through winter whites as a means of gaining purity and clarification

Yes.. finally all together ..with love and affection ..warmth we look out here..

Blooming flowers..

Flowers bloom and die and turn to seeds finally.. APJ also will bloom to Kalindi as her son with PURE LVOE AND AFFECTION..

hey DV,

nice symbolism about the seasons and useful info about paintings.

Kalindi offered him sweet, which means happiness and APJ refused. Kalindi is willing to offer love to him, but he is not willing to take it. He splashed water on her hopes that he would turn to better.

Not just the painting you mentioned, but there are other paintings in the same scene, which were equally colorful. they reminded me of a kaleidoscope. A kaleidoscope could mean a connection to childhood. It could represent butterflies and proper transformation OR it could represent constant unreliable changes that hold no promises. It could mean jumble of various emotions as there are too many colors splattered across the canvas.

To me, the painting behind APJ looks like it is making Kalindi walk from her happy present into her dark past. That path between the trees is leading into darkness. Or it could be APJ coming out of darkness, but I, somehow, don't see him as a positive character.

Here is a shot of another similar picture from one of the previous episodes for comparision.

In the above scene from 10-SEP-2013 episode, Anjali is shown cleaning up their trashed bedroom in the morning. Probably Niranjan took out his anger on her in the night. She see this picture in the calender and suddenly becomes pensive. The picture in the calendar has a brightness in the background, probably hinting at Anjali's happy life prior to marriage. The foreground is dark, probably hinting at her gloomy present.

Hi Deepa & Rekha
Both of you are master in symbolism !! - great analysis

However, Ankush apparently does not appear to be positive character at this present track , But this picture with ''multiple bright coloured blooming flower at the out side of a dark wood' - appears to me that APJ would come out from a Dark & Sad home of his dad's environment to a bright happy KIRLOSKAR home.
APJ face was very close the bright flowers.

Kalindi with her sweet Love would try to bring him back from his dark or sad past though he will resist initially like spoilling the kheer with water.

Hi Rekha ,
What do I say.. you are so accurate in facts and details..Im still learning.. I saw the other pictures too..but u know my computer knowledge on all thse right..except print screen option I kinda ..yet to learn graphics..
I see on abstract painting.. with lots of circles and ovals and squares..
Im posting one more picture here from the same scene .. dint undertand the meaning though..pl explain if it is possible...
The kheer seen,, I understood ..he is avoiding or putting water on it showing his hatred.
Now.. I felt like saying.. HE IS DIABETIC ..THATS WHY HE IS AVOIDING SWEETS...
but .. I will relate the water pouring act to.. THE SEASONAL RAIN.. IT SHOWERS US WITH HAPPINESS AND NEW FOUND ENERGY IN ALL FORMS.. TO ALL LIVING AND NON LIVING THINGS IN THE WORLD ..
I CONSIDER THAT RAIN IS PORUING.. HE IS DRENCHED OR HE MAY GET DRENCHED.. KALINDI WILL COME WITH THE UMBRELLA AND TOWEL TO WIPE HER SONS MISERY ..
TEARS TO CAN BE RELATED HERE..FOR HER CRY ..
STORY OF KRISHNA.. WHERE HE LIFTED THE ENTIRE MOUNTAIN TO SAVE THE PEOPLE FROM RAIN AND EVIL MAN... OR WHERE HE SHOWS WHEN YASODHA ASKED TO OPEN THE TONGUE , HE SHOWED THE EARTH ON HIS TONGUE ROTATING..MEANING THE WORLD..
YASODHA , KRISHNA BOND AS MOTHER AND SON , HERE I CAN APPLY FOR KALINDI AND APJ..
THEY WILL BOND ...

hi DV,
here is a collage for all your screenshots.

Don't understand art at all, but i observed that its the colors used in those paintings that are binding them together.
If you see the rug that APJ is standing on, it has red and yellow prominently.
The items on the study table are also red, yellow and green.
All the paintings have these three colors, except for the one behind kalindi.

i'll list out both the positive and negative traits of these colors below:
Red
Positive Traits: action, energy and speed, attention-getting, assertive and confident, energizing, stimulating, exciting, powerful, passionate, stimulating and driven, courageous and strong, spontaneous and determined.
Negative Traits: aggressive and domineering, over-bearing, tiring, angry and quick-tempered, ruthless, fearful and intolerant, rebellious and obstinate, resentful, violent and brutal.
Yellow
Positive Traits: optimism, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, fun, good-humored, confidence, originality, creativity, challenging, academic and analytical, wisdom and logic.
Negative Traits: being critical and judgmental, being overly analytical, being impatient and impulsive, being egotistical, pessimistic, an inferiority complex, spiteful, cowardly, deceitful, non-emotional and lacking compassion.
Green
Positive Traits: growth and vitality, renewal and restoration, self-reliance, reliability and dependability, being tactful, emotionally balanced and calm, nature lover and family oriented, practical and down to earth, sympathetic, compassionate and nurturing, generous, kind and loyal with a high moral sense, adaptable, encourages 'social joining' of clubs and other groups, a need to belong.
Negative Traits: being possessive and materialistic, indifferent and over-cautious, envious, selfish, greedy and miserly, devious with money, inconsiderate, inexperienced, a hypochondriac and a do-gooder.

i'm more inclined towards negative for APJ at present.

the painting behind kalindi is blue and that painting gives an eerie vibe. the color of the path in that nature painting behind APJ is also blue. the blues indicates her past for me... cold and scary.

You are very sweet Rekha.. thanks for this collage..
I to today was doing research on the canvas . For the landscape I could relate ..but for the rest no dear..
But one of my friend after seeing my post and pic of APJ ..she said that she got only NEGATIVE VIBES ABOUT APJ.. not a positive vibe..
And ur post with colors.. AWE SOME..
I Will use these details for myFF ..if u don't mind dear..
Thanks for this..
if u don't mind.. I will send u my eye captured ones .. for ur Symbolisms..
Now coming to the other art works..
behind kalindi .. the blue with brown.. I COULD RELATE FOR OCEAN OR SEA , IN CENTRE A MOUNTAIN OR ISLAND OR SAY A LIGHT HOUSE..
I COULD REALTE WITH THESE OBJECTS and finally ... I end up coming up with positive theories only..
negative . things I don't know dear and again ..not indepth level thoughts like u..
U ARE TOO GOOD DARLING.. I ENVY U REKHA,,
👏👏👏👏👏👏
