I agree Deepika is the worst right now. I found her comical in Ram Leela and dead and boring in YJHD. Alia could've done those roles a lot better because she has more range and delivers her dialogues flawlessly!

Why are DP fans complaining about Alia's easy entry into B-town?

Deepika herself didn't have to face any struggle into Bollywood. Hence she was discovered by Salman then offered film with SRK where she didn't even have to audition. Later, signing quite a few deals with major PH's such as YRF, NGE and Illuminati

He also gave her EMAET which did fine but it was a different rom-com then the others hence it was appriciated. He also gacv her WAF which a remake of "StepMOM" .

Somehow those movies weren't received well with the audience but he gave her GOOD roles.

Ek Main did average business. Kurbaan and We are Family were flops. Gori Tere was a disaster and almost finished her as an actress. Bebo hasn't gained much working with him apart from K3G.

Imtiaz gave DP LAK and made her choose Veronica's role in Cocktail. But since other two are star kids, people make a big deal about it even though theyr are brilliant performers as well. That's the difference. in the end, you make it BIG in BW if you have talent or extremely good looks in heroines case.
