Film sets in 1948 Pakistan. Daler (Fawad) belongs to a rich Panjabi family of Lahore but his whole family moves to Dhaka in 1948 one year after partition of India because his father was appointed in Dhaka for Govt. job. So they settles in Dhaka. Their neighbor is a Bengali family. The family is not rich. Daler has a crush with Parul, their neighbor's only daughter but his father is damn rude and proud of his race. One day his father sees Daler with this poor girl Parul and decides to send him in Lahore for study. Parul waits for Daler by lighting up a candle for 10 years. He returns back to Dacca after 10 years on Eid day. Parul was very happy. She sings 'Silsila Ye Chahat Ka' (in Bengali) with her friends. When Daler's mother is told that there's something cooking between Daler and Parul she decides to insult Parul's mother. She insults Parul's mother so hard in public. Parul's mother swears by God that she will manage a rich husband for her daughter and that's a challenge. Parul goes to daler to convince him to run away with her and get married but he refuses. Parul gets depressed. His father sees them and she leaves the house. Daler had argument with his father. He goes to Lahore. His drunkard friend Chirag introduces him to 'colorful' area called Heera Mandi, redlight zone in Pakistan. Chandni is the hottest courtesan in Heera Mandi. then the story continues...
He returns to his family in Dhaka but its too late. Parul is married with a middle aged Bengali Zamindar. He goes back in Lahore again to Chandni but he still can't forget Parul. So he gets alcoholic. Chandni secretly loves him. So she takes care of him. Parul wants to bring Daler to his home after shockingly knowing that he is in Heera Mandi. One day she goes to Lahore with her step son without informing her husband. She meets Chandni over there. She requests Chandni to give Daler back.
The story continues...
Daler at last goes to Parul's house to meet her last time before his death. She screams and runs when she gets to know about him lying near her house. He dies and she fainted.
