The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, has piqued the audience's curiosity for its unusual title among other things. Why the movie is named so, is rather interesting.
For starters, the subject of the film is largely based on revenge " 'badla'. Not just that, Varun's character Raghu undergoes a transition during the course of the story, leading to 'badlav' (change).
Moreover, those familiar with Mumbai are aware that there is a station named Badlapur on the Central Railway. It's heard that at one time,Badlapur used to be one of the stations where the trains would change tracks. This aspect is signified in the film as the station features in the backdrop when the plot undergoes a change.
