Scene 1
We see a girl Juhi in a hostel room, writing something and struggling to stay awake. She hears knocking sounds and feels suddenly disturbed and frustrated. Her friend Shruti enters and it's revealed that Juhi is unable to sleep because of some nightmares. Shruti convinces Juhi to sleep and leaves the room. Outside, all the girls are sent to their rooms by the hostel warden. We see Juhi asleep in her room. Suddenly, there's a ringing sound in her ears and she jolts awake in desperation. Gas is released in the room and she dreams/hallucinates about being chased by a monstrous masked figure which then stabs her. She awakes to find that she's been fatally stabbed for real. There's commotion hearing her screams.
Scene 2
Freddy sir and Kavin arrive, and Shreya gives details about Juhi's being from Bhopal and studying MBA there, and adds that there was nobody else in the room. The hostel people narrate the same story and say that the door was locked from outside, and thus nobody could've escaped from within. Shruti explains about Juhi's nightmares about someone trying to kill her, and says she locked the door to assure the latter's safety. With Shruti's help they find Juhi's sketchbook where she had drawn the knife the killer of her dreams had been wielding. It's seen that it's identical to the knife actually used to murder her. We also see drawings of the location and masked figure. Shreya says some insider with knowledge about Juhi's nightmares is involved. Shruti says nobody except her knew about the sketchbook. Kavin says the killer could've entered from the balcony, but that door is locked as well. They go outside and spot shoeprints on the ledge. Kavin says he/she must've used the pipe to climb up, and decides to meet the watchman.
Scene 3
Kavin and Shreya scold the watchman for negligence. Freddy sir finds a male shoe in the bushes. They find a trail of footprints with the pattern implying that the killer was injured while getting down from the balcony and had to limp away, leaving behind his shoe accidentally. They meet the receptionist Anjali who remembers Juhi's friend Manish limping away and not stopping even when called. She says he used to frequently meet her at the hostel but were on sour terms since some time.
Scene 4
The team meets Manish at the hospital, who on being pressurized confesses that he had indeed climbed up to Juhi's room but only to apologize for their fight. However, when he climbed up he saw her screaming and flailing, and fled in fear of being accused. He says he saw nobody else there. Kavin gets a call about a second murder.
Scene 5
The team arrives at the house where a lady Kalki friend Meera has been killed in a manner similar to Juhi, with even an identical knife. Kavin says either it's a serial killer or the murderer knew both girls. Shreya points out the murder seems to have taken place 3-4 hours ago, same as Juhi's. Kavin asks them to search the room for clues and goes to interrogate Kalki who says she heard Meera screaming late at night and had to get the watchman open the locked main door. She says Meera was a bank manager and transferred to Mumbai 2 years ago from Jodhpur. Kavin asks if she knew Juhi, but Kalki doesn't recognize her photo. She says Meera didn't have any enemies. Shreya comes up saying nothing in Meera's albums indicates she knew Juhi, but Kavin says there has to be a connection. Kalki says Meera had been having nightmares about someone trying to kill her. Freddy sir finds a screw under Meera's bed. Kavin tells him to question the watchman and goes back to the room. The ambulance guys arrive to take away the corpse and Kavin realizes the screw came from the ceiling fan. They dismantle it and find out that the knife had been fitted inside it and been dropped down into the victim's body. They guess Juhi was killed similarly and wonder how the killer knew how to drop the knife using remote control at the right moment, since they found no cameras in the rooms.
Scene 6
In the bureau, ACP sir and Daya sir discuss what connection there might be between the two apparently totally unrelated victims. They stimulate the crime scene by using a remote-controlled holder in the ceiling fan to drop a knife into the dummy underneath. ACP sir says the killer with remote must've been within 50 metres of the crime spot, and showing the dreams to the victims must've been pre-planned by him as well. Shreya arrives saying a similar mechanism has been found in Juhi's ceiling fan as expected, and there was some electrical work done in both victims' rooms a week back. ACP sir says the killer must've been disguised as the electrician.
Scene 7
The team arrives in Juhi's room again. Kavin says neither of the victims had any alarms set, and wonders what the killer used as a trigger for the dreams. Shreya finds a clock with alarm set, but for 6:00 AM, nowhere close to 3:00 AM when she was murdered. Kavin says hypnosis is unlikely or the victims' behaviour would've been unusual and surely been noticed. They search the room and Freddy sir finds a box hidden behind the TV. On pressing its button, there's a ringing sound which only Freddy sir hears. They construe that this is a sound of frequency only some people can hear, and used this to induce the dreams in the victims (magically, I assume). Freddy sir points out the killer could've easily murdered without the dreams. Kavin says he seems to have wanted to enjoy torturing the victims first. They get Kalki who remembers hearing the ringing sound when Meera was working on her laptop. They check the laptop but it's password-protected. Kavin says they need to get it cracked.
Scene 8
Sachin and the others visit a shop where they're told one Mangesh was the electrician sent to do the wiring at the victims' rooms. They're given the address of this guy.
Scene 9
In the bureau, the laptop password is cracked and Abhijeet sir and the others find a video file in Meera's email account which features an eerie location and the masked figure with knife. Kavin recalls seeing these things in Juhi's sketchbook. Abhijeet sir construes the killer sent the video as a warning. He recognizes the location as one Banjara road. Nikhil informs that Mangesh's address is fake. Abhijeet sir instructs him to get Mangesh sketched.
Scene 10
ACP sir and the others survey the Banjara road, taking in all the structures they'd seen in the video, and finally arrive at one Royal Moon hotel. ACP sir gets a call saying Mangesh's sketch doesn't match with their records. They question the hotel staff who don't recall any videographing going on in the area. The records show that Juhi and Meera had stayed at the hotel a year ago, on 17th May 2013. Pankaj wonders why they stayed there when both of them had places to live in Mumbai. ACP sir notes many girls had stayed in the hotel that day and one Ravi booked 5 taxis that day. The hotel people say he works for some NGO helping drug addicts and is in the hotel at that moment too, to hold a seminar.
Scene 11
The team meets Ravi and praises him for his altruistic work. Ravi recognizes Juhi and Meera and recalls they had been addicted to addicted to drugs too, and thus attended his seminar. He recalls they were very worried about an individual named Monika, who had been unable to recover from her addiction and committed suicide a year ago. ACP sir asks for her address.
Scene 12
The team arrives to meet Monika's brother Amit. Kavin says he inherited all her property following her death. ACP sir says they need proof before concluding whether it's a murder or suicide. Amit sarcastically says Juhi and Meera wanted to get Monika get addicted to drugs rather than help her. He says one Vishal, the two girls' supplier was also involved because Monika knew about their deals and thus they put drugs in her bag and got her framed. Monika couldn't bear that and killed herself. Nikhil says Vishal could be the next target. ACP sir suspects Amit, who says Monika's fiancee Ranvijay was far more likely to murder in revenge. Nikhil shows Mangesh's sketch, whom Amit recognizes as Ranvijay.
Scene 13
The team arrives at Vishal's place and tries to stop Ranvijay, who takes Pankaj hostage and confirms he's doing it all for revenge as the victims were responsible for Monika's fake. He says Monika suffered from nightmares as a result of what they did to her, thus he did the same to them. ACP sir tries to reason with him, but he doesn't listen. They manage to ambush and capture him. ACP sir says Vishal will be punished for his crimes, but he too committed two murders and will be executed for them.
