My point is I find the comedy last season when Manish and Kapil were hosting infantile. That is a harsh word I know, but Manish holding Madhuri's saree pallu by his teeth done every episode, Kapil's international stunt (sliding down the ramp whilst sitting on his shins down 2 or 3 times) making fun of Gujarati's and then making a mockery of the dancing competition which they were doing by laughing at the expense of the contestants, which are working so hard which is never appreciated, is what the show should be about, let the contestants shine not the hosts or judges. Always the UK and USA version its a man and woman hosting the show, dressed in evening clothes, really well and the evening is classy, like you are visiting a ballroom to see dance. I don't like the hosting of the Indian version because as I said I don't like how it's done.

When Drashti Dhami came in, I was hoping they were moving closer to the UK and USA versions. Where a man and woman host the show, and very little time wasting get into what happened with the contestants over the week, what they were struggling with in the routine, showing them in practice, then the performance remarks by the judges and the contestants goes behind in the green room with the other contestants and their scores are given to them and they ask for a vote for themselves from audiences at home, and move on to the next one. Also with Maksim coming in as well I did have this in my mind. But they've gone back to last years. I don't want to see that, for me it was always about the dancing of the contestants and not hosts or judges, in fact I hate all of them and I do mind what has happened to Drashti I know they made a lot of fun of her last year and this year also, and she gave a lot of revenue to the show last year too much that has not been appreciated by Jhalak and Colors. So they could have managed with her as a host and change the show to be like the British and American versions.

The TRP has not been bad whilst Drashti Dhami has been hosting, it's panic by Colors because it's only CNWK and Jhalak giving this TRP and just a sniff or criticism and they minds are closed to anything different only comedy can work that's their mindset, so they've stepped in to ensure that for Jhalak and not for the audience to watch something else, but the TRP didn't dip with her, so their fear is unwarranted.

Nafs, indian version has never been about dancing. It has always been about stardom and fandom. Many people watched the show for manish, kapil and even bharti. New season trps are ok compared to other colors shows. But the channel got the feed back that the hosts failed to make an impact. As for the channel cashing in on her popuularity, she was not doing it for charity. They rewarded her with the title and prize money though she was not the best. So it is settled then and there. The channel doesnt owe her anything for prev season now.

Poornima, they didn't award her the title just like that because she was working on madhubala which is a colors show, her votes were the highest from all other jhalak seasons, so here it's not a case of the channel awarding her title without her popularity also giving them the TRP's firstly then the revenue in texts votes and phonecalls also to the show from the Gujarati community which she is a part of, remember the interviews they were doing to the TRP aunties all of them were from the Gujarati community the youngsters teenagers girls were also her fans all voting manically for her. So it's damaging for her last season she had more hopes than the title only perhaps she was hoping her star would grow to be noticed by producers of film and television serials too but her star was damaged when Madhuri (when salman came with big boss offer) Kapil and Manish were maligning her character, her laugh, that she is dumb, even her choreographer spoilt her character a little bit when he revealed there that she wanted to pull out of the show, that shows prospective producers of future projects that she could quit and not complete a project so slightly damaging, but mainly the comedy taken at her expense.

This year what has happened was again damaging to her, she could have hosted the show classy without making her appear dumb, this comic acts they scripted are damaging to her and don't suit her personality they should have dropped this concept this season let the dancing speak for itself. The performances of Shakti have left me awestruck, seeing her in practice then show time you see the transformation Shakti has got ambitions she's thinking where this show could take her, the others Karan Tacker and Sophie similarly, they need producers to see their character and what expressions they can do, remember it's also acting on the dance floor to be thrilled with the dance performance to remember it and give them a call, they are selling themselves and that's why it's important not to malign their character or show them in a bad light, they should be supported they are going there to show case themselves for their star to grow, the audience needs to remember them and they can only do that if they observe them closely and learn about how they are properly without distractions from yesteryear's stars, so the show needs to support them to achieve that because hey they also gained in revenue and TRP because of those contestants.

Nafs, I agree with you that the hosting is a joke and is tasteless at times with unneeded nautanki. don't know but I think perhaps this is a staple of Colors hosting, maybe maybe not.
But Indian reality competition shows are all a joke and with unneeded tamasha and drama, everyone from the contestants to the hosts to the judges. That's why I don't see the point in hoping for a more sane hosting format, while all the other tamashas remain.

As for DD, yeah she gave them revenue with her fans voting, but so what? See she agreed to be part of it. She wanted to compete and she won because she got the votes. (Ummm, I will also here add that yeah I absolutely agree the joke that is judging and I believe those who say Colors and the judges give biased and calculated marks, to ensure certain outcomes are reached. Where bokwas performances are praised to the skies, and yes that includes DD too).

She won, she got the money so it benefited her too. It wasn't a one way street. The contestants go there for the money and stage (but mostly money), the channel takes them in for money. If one has a huge fan base who are willing to vote and spend their money--the only people who are not gaining anything are those who spend the money to vote.😆 Both the channel and the contestant rake in the moolah. It's mutually beneficial.

^^ I think it is supposed to be voicing his poetic/artistic mind working while observing her.

I agree with you here, Dolly.
I watched this scene again and yeah I am with you regarding your take. don't think it's a poem which specifically is going on in Nikumbh's mind. But rather the narrator reciting the poem while Nikumbh observes her.

KK don't you think Mini's father should buy Nikumbh a new Motor Bike for taking care of his daughter.

Or is it too much to ask of her grouchy father.😆

It is indeed too much to ask😆 That man didn't even thank him, instead he blamed him.

Nikumbh wouldn't accept it anyway. 😆
I don't agree with narrator on one thing. He contradicted himself, unless the last part was meant to show Nikumbh as right. Narrator asks why Nikumbh had to back answer, but really he was very much restrained. He first spoke up when Raghvendta chided Mini, if he kept quiet wouldn't he be the same as Yamini whom the narrator chided for not speaking up? And how is trying to explain what happened back answering?

I can only guess narrator first posed the three questions. But then answered those questions to show that only two of those questions/thoughts are legitimate.

I too felt the same when he said why did Nikumbh had to answer him back, then he is falling into the same category as Yamini.

Some times he tells us things which are obvious to us too.

Anyways he is good otherwise, so we shoul ignore those bloopers😆
