Since the actual internet does not offer too much info about the Maharana, I decided to look at the books available and there are some, please to check them out.
Mughals recorded their own history and so there is always a question of whether its biased or not, or if something were left out on purpose so we should look everywhere for information! 😳
I had wondered if Humayun didnt help Karnavati on time or was it deliberate decision, well this particular book - Maharana Pratap by Bhawan Singh Rana (published in 2004)
says what the show told us that Humayun didnt help on purpose, but then again the writer is from the Rajput community so his view could be biased but it give a good history for Mewar, the books cite historians confirming facts told; the author has written about other historical figures too!
you can read most of the book here: (the part available online goes from Mewad history to Pratap's coronation, the rest can only be read if you but the hard copy of the book😆)- its a very good read! I just read it! And if someone has a copy of this book it would be great if they could share some more interesting facts!
Another book is Maharana Pratap: Mewar's Rebel King, By Brishti Bandyopadhyay : - you can only read a part online- but the excerpt offered talks about Mewar History, but still good! If you can find a copy in a book store and read it that would be great, and of course tell the rest of us about any interesting finds!
And if you want to read in Hindi, then there is a book in Hindi online too (first 34 pgs of the book)
There are other books of course including a biography book called Maharana Pratap: A biography by Sri Ram Sharma - but its not available online so if you someone wants to go out and buy it that would be great, they can report back any interesting finds!
here is the book info:
Hope this helps with understanding the chronology and history of Mewar!
Happy Reading!
