What an irony I would say. The man who was always impersonal was smiling yesterday because of Sandhya's perfect 10/10. That smile and thumbs up was a sign that he was proud about her. Then again when he was talking to his parents on the phone that smile returned on his face.
The magic of comradeship I would say. The realization of the importance of team work, the appreciation that he received, joy of seeing his trainee succeed everything made that robot into a human yesterday.
But alas the other person who was bubbly , jovial and was always smiling or cracking jokes looked like it is an effort to smile. He did his duty. But that duty made him a robot from a human. He became impersonal. He had hardened. The casuality with which he replied my parents are coming it was as if that deep pain was buried somewhere.
Hats off to CVs for showing the transformation of 2 people at opposite poles. One who came with a pain in his heart , but going back with his head held high and making his parents proud. Other who came with a carefree mind and jovial attitude but going out with with a buried pain and hardened stance.
