The villagers informed Laajo's father that he and his daughter should attend the Panchayat which was about to happen tomorrow. Laajo's mother was worried and told him that they should just apologies to them but Laajo told them that she would attend Panchayat and she will continue her studies as well. No one can stop the woman from growing now. Her father was proud of her.
When Laajo's mother saw Laajo studying at night when she told her mother that now a days woman are going to moon there will be no going back now.

Nikhil was thinking about his father words, when he dreamt of Laajo starting her studies as said by her. He was missing her and wish to visit her and meet her in his dreams.

Laajo's mother confined to laajo that even she wanted to study but due to responsibilities she couldnot. Laajo encouraged her that she can still continue her studies. Her mother said she cannot because she doesnot have brains but Laajo told her that as she runs a family so she has to be intelligent enough. Laajo assured her that nothing is going to happen in Panchayat and if anybody says anything to her she would make them run with a broom stick in her hand.

Nikhil's mother wanted signature on the divorce papers as soon as possible.

In Panchayat all the villagers accused Laajo for perceiving studies. Villagers were concerned about woman who will stay in the village despite of their marriage. They were concerned that girls who were yet to get married no one shall marry them because of Laajo's example. Village woman told them that they tried to make Laajo's mother understand but she is only indulging her to go to the city for her studies.

When Nikhil's cousins gush over Laajo's praise, Nikhil got upset and shouted on them saying he doesn't want to hear about laajo. Gunja suspected that it was not Nikhil's hatred for Laajo but something else when she heard that Nikhil trashed the rose which was grown by Laajo.

Laajo reminded everyone how her married happened. She told them that no one accepted her in her inlaws and that learning upto class twelve is not sufficient. And the more you read the more respect you gain. Only for her studies her marriage broke.
