Vyas I did not watch RR first day first show but instead recorded it on my DVR to watch at a later time as I was busy with the Holidays After the New Year I sat down to watch the first weeks episode in one go The opening episode was intriguing enough and her carefree run ending in the nightmare for her did pique an interest Then I saw the second and found I could not relate to her as anything but Sanaya It also did not help that she was so much in the background , very reticent with minimum dialogues and so unlike her previous famous avatar where you felt the screen light up the first minute itself
That molestation scene her heartrending screams for help and her reactions although spot on made me remember the tragedy that tore the nation on a moving vehicle and it was like any woman caught in that horrific situation and I wanted the scene to end soon

On the other hand her male costar Ashish seemed to fill the screens with his terrific presence acting prowess and action and he made that week come alive and damn I hate to confess I had literally and figuratively a near O moment😳 when he showed his body most swoon worthy and that mooche Hubba Hubba woah swathi steady you are digressing
(Wiping the saliva)
I really wondered if she had not made a horribly wrong choice Her character seemed so weak and nebulous as opposed to his and I had deja vu feelings of a former show of hers 🤢
I knew that I did want to watch the show but it felt hollow and empty almost soulless and seriously I did not want to follow the story of only one been there done that and found it most unsatisfactory

But where I started to feel all is not lost is the beautiful mirror symbolism When they both stood together I saw Fire and Ice I saw the potential magic I forgot her complexion her costume in fact her itself and saw the first glimpse of Paro

She came into her own in the second week steadily improving her diction although honestly I have no idea how good/bad any Hindi is spoken much less Rajasthani so cannot judge but figured it from the confidence in her dialogue delivery which she did not have in the first week
Paro started to come to life when she wore that bridal dress This was a different swerve twirl and understated but clear expressions of joy of a new bride to be Very restrained but poignant especially when she talks to Rukmani That was the turning point of Sanaya leaving and Paro emerging from the shadows
I saw Paro in her shyness standing in the balcony and loved that eye contact scene Earnest but also afraid and she then went on to claim that scene with her bridegroom who also was fantastic👏 in that cameo She clinched it in her gratitude to Lord Shiva and after that I have been at ease watching her
I guess what blew me off was the dressing of Paro They should have gone in for plaits and a gauzy dupatta but then I guess they did not want the ghost of KKG to haunt again We already have Aman😆
There have been arguments and counter arguments on her costume but I just want to share this incident Whilst watching RR at home my bro who has NEVER watched any Indian Soap Serial and sniggers because he thinks I am a sell out for them now and has no clue about any of the Indian Television Actors stopped for a second to see her and said hey that's one hot woman what movie is this I then asked him don't you feel that this attire seems way to OTT for a village belle to which he replied but this is Bollywood they glamorize women Yes he is an idiot😆 he still thought it was a movie
I have also seen some of the chaps in the office look at her in RRMEN😡 and then I thought am I expecting too much realism because it is Sanaya Truth be told what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander and I so hugely relished that bare naked chest and drool in anticipation of more such scenes In fact I might petition spam mail and call if a chesty scene is not shown lickety splick damn I am digressing again where is the tissue

So I am assuming they know what they are doing for seeing how SI is seemingly transitioning into the role my guess is Paro will be another feather in her cap and that still release of her looking triumphant and him pissed only added to the belief and now I want the PH to tell the story AS IT TO BE TOLD without any cave in to aunties mommies and grannies for Paro to be successful and redefining female roles in soaps
Yes Yes all that drooling fainting thudding drowning has killed some brain cells and that is why I hope for silly inane stuff like progressive female protagonist on Indian Television I will have mo👏re luck in asking for the moon than that

👏👏👏
I have no issue with Paro not lighting up a room the moment she walks in as Sanaya's previous character did because that character didn't have a growth graph, the producer has said that Paro will have her own journey and you can't have a journey without change and growth.I loved getting to know the timid shy Paro, her fears and her dreams because that's going to make me understand what her upcoming loss is going to mean to her
The mirror scene was Paro's first glimpse into womanhood of being lost in a man so much so she momentarily forgot the situation they were in. The scene showing Paro being daring and tryng on her wedding lengha was an idication that our Paro does have a mind of her own. The lengha scene was just beautiful and represented that Paro has the same dreams as any other girl. The Parun scenes were heartwarming, two orphans connecting and happy at the thought of belonging, then the temple scene and thanking God for the happiness he was finally bestowing on her was so real, how can you not connect to this simple child on the cusp of emotional womanhood?
A good costume will not make a bad actor give a good performance and in the same way 'bad' costume won't make a good performance bad. I don't understand much about the fuss about Sanaya's outfit, yes the dupatta could be draped in a better way but she is the lead of a romantic story not the fl of a regressive social drama. Apart from that everything else is pretty authentic. The cholis albeit being on the shorter side are embroidered with mirror work, the ghaghara is worn at ankle length, the jewellery is silver or black thread with a pendant, the make up is minimal. Yes the bangs are a bit of an issue but I love the open haired look so it it means compromising with the bangs so be it. For me Sanaya made me fall in love with her previous characters in spite of her costumes not because of them.
The second promo is a glimpse of the real Paro underneath the demure village girl but that Paro can only be appreciated once we've seen the demure Paro.
Personally I connected to Paro from the moment the 'chui mui' girl stood up and spoke about only feeling the breeze blow on her face through a dupatta once she was married and wanting to imbibe the 'kusboo' of Birpur and carry it in her soul...what's more real than that for a girl who's never going to come home again.

After watching this show I know Sanaya Irani was meant to be Paro. She is doing a good job as Paro so far. Right now, her character is of a simple, demure girl who has simple dream of having a loving husband and a home of her own.
Paro's character has layers and so far we were introduced to only one of the layers.

I don't know how you can judge an actor's performance in just couple of weeks.

Wait, what? Lucknow is a rural place and not the capital city of the state of Uttar Pradesh. I guess I really must be dumb.

No, your general knowledge is quite good. What @rockystar22 meant was that Khushi too was not a urban, cosmopolitan like character and huge contrast to Sanaya in real life, but she pulled it off marvelously, so @rockystar22 is quite confident Sanaya would do full justice to the character of Paro too.

Hmm, is it? What I got from her and most of the comments here is that even khushi was from a rural/small town (Lucknow) and she played that well, so she will play paro well too.
Also this thread reeks of hypocrisy. Once there was a topic by another tm criticizing paro's dressing, but everyone jumped on her and started pointing out that if deepika can wear short blouses in ram-leela so can she, she is the main lead, blah blah .. now here it is a different story altogether.
