In 2014,we have to forget that there was a Dhoom and that it ran amuck at the Boxoffice..and go back to openings of 7,8,10,15 crore openings and applaud those smaller stars🤗.

3 Films from 2013 has changed all this... CE did the trick with Biggest SCREENS + HIKE + HOLIDAYS... Adding to it K3 did the same, K3 even go ahead in making fake huge numbers, believe it or not, but K3 has huge numbers next to CE... now D3 has gone miles ahead not even in Screens but also in Ticket HIKE like 800, 900 or even 1400 (in IMAX)...

So it won't be Tough for Makers if they follow above formulas. Dhoom 3 didn't made huge on same grounds as 3 Idiots made with just 1500 screens n small ticket hike... It has made this much huge in short time coz of Tripple the Screens n 10 times more TICKET HIKE. Even Aamir need this kind of setup to score big, without this formula he can score like Talaash only.

No the difference is just 5 crores if you count the Hindi version .

TARAN's Hindi version----216 crore
BOI's HINDI VERSION-211 CRORE

Boi has not given regional grosses yet...

nope the diff is just around 5 Cr for only Hindi versions of both BOI (211) n Taran (216)

and its even less around 3 Cr when considered all versions, BOI is approx 225 and TA is at 228 Cr

This is way it should be :)

disagree...the dhoom franchise is itself big and enough to create a huge hype...even without the hike, it would have been a blockbuster for sure...and if it was really a good movie, got better reception from critics, it would have been giving the same results. believe it or not Aamir is the one who stood at #1 making the biggest records...no matter what.

Taran = 216.66 Cr

BOI = 211 Cr

Taran = 227.13 Cr

BOI = 208 Cr

Difference = 19 Cr

KRRISH 3

Taran = 244.92 Cr

Taran = 198 Cr

BOI = 186 Cr

Difference = 12 Cr

Dhoom 3 is findin exception, either Taran is reporting less or BOI as usual Favoring Aamir 😛

So .. India has only 5 IMAX theaters 😆 & Talaash was a suspense movie so it didnt had the repeative value like D3, apart from it its buzz was nothing compared to D3..

Two Things:

1. DHOOM brand was made HUGE by only 2 actors - John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan. Hrithik Roshan played the bigger role, D:2 was biggest hit of its time, if that time this BO Figures comparison would have made, D:2 would have been the ALl TIME BIGGEST HIT. Aamir Khan didn't do anything 2 increase it, He just enjoy the BRAND SUCCESS. Even Without Aamir Khan Film would have easily made 150-200 Cr. Jabki Aamir Khan has spoiled the DHOOM FRANCHISE. 95% Priority was just on Aamir, How to Rob Bank or People was DHOOM Series's speciality, not even 1 scene show how Aamir Robbed the BANK, Disaster Script n Content for which Aamir Khan is known for.

2. Even without HIKE also DHOOM 3 would have been BlockBuster, I Agree, so why did Makers INCREASE TICKET HIKE this much if they knew it wud have made without IT? Why was IMAX involved in it when knowing the huge TICKET PRICE for those Cinema Halls? This time Aamir Khan has show how much pissed off he was from past 3 years huge BO Records made by Salman, Srk n recently Hrithik from K3. He wanted to make HUGE BO Impact at any cost.
