As for perceptions about girls, I think it is very cultural. People expect you to behave in a certain way, you try to fit in the mold, you become the perception and the cycle continues. Another very common perception of women is they can't drive well. I can't drive as get sick in cars I have a license. but the smell of cars make me want to puke. I prefer public transport ๐ฅฑ But I am pretty confident that without the sickness issue, I would be a decent driver. None of my friends in India drive, but all my friends abroad have been driving since they are 16. They are very competent drivers. The difference being, in their social circle, people do not make a huge fuss about women drivers as they do in India. If people simply stop differentiating between how girls and boys SHOULD behave, you will see a lot more difference in your social circle.
Enjoy the games and do let me know if they are any good๐. I was gonna buy Assasin's Creed 4 as well but I hadn't played any of the series games before so I decided to buy the Heritage collection. I've heard LA Noire is one of the best PS3 games out there. I'm totally engrossed in Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim, at the moment. Simply one of the best games I've ever played
Yeah, it's definitely cultural perception. I had no idea that there was a myth about women and driving. Never before have I heard of a more absurd myth. I wonder how or when it started but it was most probably way back in the 1900's or something. I can say that this myth is wrong for a historical reason. The reason being, the very first driver to ever go on a long distance travel using an automobile was a woman! (onna, yeoseong). Her name was Bertha Benz, the wife of Karl Benz(the person whose patents gave us the internal combustion engine-ICE). Karl Benz later co founded Benz & Cie which later merged with another company to give us Mercedes-Benz. Bertha Benz not only financed her husband which enabled him to make the ICE, but also drove from Mannheim to Pforzheim(about 100 km) which advertised the product and made history. And she didn't even ask for her husband's permission ๐. It's weird how our culture and environment can warp our perception of the world that something even slightly out of the ordinary surprises us.
Sorry to bore you with the history on the matter, but I can get carried away sometimes๐ณ.Enjoy the New Year !๐๐ฅณ
