Ranbir Kapoor is hot property and no wonder then that the actor has been apparently roped in to do an item song in Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Bhootnath Returns'.

According to a report in Mid-Day, Ranbir Kapoor has been approached to do an item number. Ranbir who is known for his fabulous dancing abilities had earlier hit the dance floor with a bunch of kids for Salman Khan produced film 'Chillar Party'. Released in 2008, 'Bhoothnath' had Amitabh Bachchan playing the lead role. The film's star cast also included Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla.

If reports are true then it will be the first time that Ranbir Kapoor will be in the same film as the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, albeit just for an item song. The report further says that the dates are being worked out and the shoot may happen sometime in January.

Big B will be reprising the role of the funny ghost Bhootnath in the sequel as well and the film is expected to hit theatres by the middle of 2014.
