"I want to get married by the end of the year"

This hip-hop and teen sensation pierced his brow, pulled his jeans low and jumped into the shoes of spoilt brat Prem in Kasauti Zindagi Kay. But Manoj Bohra is not new to this medium. He always dreamt to be an actor and thus started off as a child artist in movies, has done TV serials like Kkusum and Shararat and a play, Divorce Me Darling. He has also been in news quite often for romancing his girlfriend T. J. Sidhu. And soon Manoj will bid adieu to his bachelorhood by tying the knot by the end of this year.

In a tte--tte with Prashant Golecha, this firm believer of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar talks about his on screen and off screen image, and also discloses his wedding plans!

The real Manoj
I am an extrovert who is simple, grounded and hard working. I have a great sense of humour and am like a jalebi (laughs).

My family
I am a Marwari and we originally hail from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. My grand father, Ram Kumar Bohra served as the President of IMPPA (Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association) for 15 years and has also produced hit films like Hercules, Tejaa and Takkar.

Response for Prem
Amazing! Though I play this notorious character, aunties, teenagers, kids and the older generation shower me with affection. A lot of people gave me the feedback that the show had become monotonous, but after my entry they started watching it again.

The Kasauti… experience
All my past serials have been hits. And working in this Balaji show is a step to another level. I have been associated with Kasauti...since the last eight months. I enjoy working with Shweta Tiwari and Tina Parakh the most. Ronit Roy and Cezanne Khan are senior actors, and it is nice to work with them. I stay away from controversies as things get blown out of proportion.

Working with Balaji
It has been a five year old association. Balaji makes you feel wanted and deserving. I did a few episodic shows like Kya Hadsa Kya Haqqekat and was in some tracks of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

TV v/s Theatre
Talking about theatre, you can instantly gauge the audience response, and if you forget your lines, you need to cover up. One needs to memorize a lot when it comes to a play, which is not the case in television.

My love - T. J. Sidhu
She is multi-faceted; a VJ, RJ and model. She aspires to do some good work on television. I met her for the first time at Mt. Mary Church in Bandra. And after two meetings we started hanging out more. It was a case of instant attraction, which transformed into a serious relationship. Our chemistry rocks! We share many similarities; we are spiritual, approachable and can talk about anything under the sun.

My marriage plans
We want to get married by the end of this year. We will host two weddings, one at Shree Shree Ravi Shankar's Asharam in Bangalore and another at Vancouver in Canada. The reception will be held in Mumbai.

Film prospects
I am aiming for movies and am definitely working towards it. I have received a positive feedback so far. I am confident about my potential, so let's see!
