TEEN DEVIYAN
I did like Jodha's stance FOR women's right (that came with an apt disclaimer that problems were prevalent across the nation in all cultures!)
What took me by surprise was Ruqaiyya's stance in support of Jodha. [Needless to say, it was spurned on by MA's ill-timed taunts!]
However, Ruqaiyya did put her point across correctly and to-the-point - something that sent Jalal into a thinking spree.
Obviously, I know not what changed from today to tomorrow where Ruqs is back to square one!😆
JODHA-MOTHI
How sweet Jo looked sitting in her bedroom - sans jewellery and her hair open - reminiscing on the various aspects of her political conversation with him a short while ago! More than anything, Jodha can't seem to get over the fact that Jalal has elected her as one of his 'Khaas begums!'😳
So, Who better -than your best friend - to talk about your man-ki-uljhans [aka read as first signs of a crush!] We all have done this with our best-friends-
Who better to argue with mock statements like 'He loves me not' only to WANT to hear your friend say 'No, he does loves you'...
Who better an audience to boldly proclaim 'I love him not' only to WANT her to refute it with a 'No, you do love him'!
Awww the signs of first love! Always a pleasure to see!
'What do you want' Mothi asks her friend as she thunders in. When Jodha explains her kashmakash sweetly, Mothi is perplexed 'When he trusts, you you have a problem with it...when he doesn't trust you, you have an issue!' she pauses 'Do you want to be his khaas Begum or not?'😆
'I don't know about that...that's what I wanted to talk to you about...besides, I'm not feeling sleepy'
'When you're upgraded from 'ordinary' to 'special' this is what happens...I don't think you're going to be able to sleep tonight...'😆 [Awww]
Watching Jodha's hesitance, Mothi continues 'He's chosen you as his khaas begum from his heart...not due to a political ploy'
Jodha can't help but break out into a subtle blush at the thought.
JODHA AT NIGHT
I could actually jump in joy when I saw Jodha having a sleepless night FINALLY. I loved how she recalled various glimpses from her past conversations with her husband - though I must say all of it was more political than romantic! I shall wait for the day when her sleepless nights are being instigated by pangs of love and passion too!
COURT
The manner in which Jalal questioned Tasneem was more-than-just-adorable! Not to mention, his worried frowns in his room when he ponders on the happenings in the court earlier - and that damned lattice window sunset only makes him look more regal...Mashallah!😳
THE CHOODIWAALA
Lord! The manner in which Rajat transformed into the demeanour of a Mughal choodiwaala from that of a gallant majestic Shehenshah reflects the vast scope his acting is capable of achieving! Hats off to you Shehenshah-e-expressions!👏
Initially, we got to see glimpses of the overtly-sweet manner in which he presents himself to the little girls. Once he notes the unfolding events in Tasneem's house, his personality undergoes a marked change! I'd been missing this 'fire' of his lately - what a sight to see him taking his anger out on that bangle in his hand as the drunken father charged at him!
'I don't want to sell bangles here anymore' Jalal stated with silent anger as he walked out of the hut
The scenes Jalal witnessed after that were also very well placed (though a bit rushed in typical JA style)
1) The marriage of a child with a middle-aged man.
2) The metaphor that a gardener used and how it perfectly suited the dilemma he was facing - i.e. how uprooting a tender sapling even before it had fully bloomed would only lead to the future plant being a stunted plant later on!
ATGAH-JALAL
Beautiful conversation this - crisp, conveyed everything it had to and possibly in a fashion that would have convinced everyone who had a doubt on the whys and hows of this track! [Myself included😃]
PRECAP
I know not why Ruqaiyya who was pro-Jodha (albeit for her own selfish reasons) today has turned against both Jodha and Jalal again.😆 But, I feel sad for Jalal who is constantly being churned in the pan by Jodha, Ruqaiyya and MA (Ladies like BB and Ammijaan play their roles too)!
MY TAKE
I say this yesterday, I say this again today - However beautiful the tracks or its execution we need at least a week where Jalal's away from his harem and Agra. Anything and everything Jalal's been doing lately has been tackling some or the other form of woman-oriented problem. I genuinely hope the CVs haven't lined up abolishment of Sati after this.😆
It makes for more pleasurable viewing if there is a balance in all tracks. He was a shauhar and the king of the women in the harem. However, he was also a conqueror and a sportsman. I sorely miss that part of him. Watching him go through yet another round of blasting from his wives is just painful!
Also, it can't be that Jalal and Atgah Khan were the only capable men in the entire Sultanat. We need more men like Abdul and Maan to balance the equation. 😕
Having said that, I DID love the episode today - more than I did the last two ones!😊
