Now, I don't care what the
weather man says
When the weatherman says
it's raining
You'll never hear me
complaining, I'm certain the
sun will shine
I don't care how the weather
vane points
When the weather vane
points to gloomy
It's gotta be sunny to me,
when your eyes look into
mine
Jeepers Creepers, where'd
ya get those peepers?
Jeepers Creepers, where'd
ya get those eyes?
Gosh all git up, how'd they
get so lit up?
Gosh all git up, how'd they
get that size?
Golly gee! When you turn
those heaters on, woe is me
Got to get my cheaters on,
Jeepers Creepers
Where'd ya get those
peepers? On, those weepers
How they hypnotize, where'd
ya get those eyes?
Where'd ya get those eyes?
Where'd ya get those eyes?

This song has a romantic note to it as well as scary..as it is found in a horror movie ( classic, one of my fav) where the monster was after his victims eyes!
Relation to our show here...
Miss ashta is totally fascinated by the monster...shes all smiley thinking about him and his sweet words, as her gradma says.. she chose with her heart! On the other side our handsome monster has this smug face, full of victory and satisfaction!! Ashta knows he is danger and living in that house with anjali will b difficult but having shlok it doesnt matter to her if it rains..he is her Sun! Just as he wishes..he has become her everything!!

I liked avdhoot and kalindhi, for the first time they were truly aware of the danger that awaits ashta in the white house, they forgot abt izaat issue and totally focused on their daughter..What i didnt like was kalindhi walking away from the disscusion like a spoilt kid! Tough i understood her pain as a mother letting her child go and get married having anjali as saas !

Kalindhi looking at ashtas photos seeing how time has passed was a good scene and nice interpretation from the actress, also in her disscusion with her mother in law on the stairs! So monsters from the past are making an apearence..one thats similar to anjali..hmm interesting!!

Coming to our fascinating couple..their parents are having sweets as if no ping pong match happened yday..And shlok is eating casually too.. but when everyone gets out and he is alone with his prey..he pops in another piece of ladoo and seductively looking at her licking her his finger ( Whats with this guy and licking?!??) as if telling her : Babes, you are next 😉 Our dear ashta is all mush and when shes happily dreaming abt him with open eyes then talks with him on the phone is totally another person, long gone is the She Wolf who slaped him yday! Shes totally in shlok land didnt even change her dress but shlok did..he is in piece.. he has got it all: daddys happiness, he won the gamewith his mom and he has go the girl too! What a happy man, playing with light and dark..on snd off..just like he'll play ashtas life!!

Now daddy is fast, wedding in 10 days?! so fast!! I told u friends..i am still on with my wolf cubs theory 😉

The art of manipulation should be learned from this father and son duo, specially the father. The son passes "job accomplished" smile to the father who acknowledges it with a piercing look and the mother who has noted the exchange of glances is most probably left with thinking "they have done it again". The change of expression on the fathers face when Kalindi wanted to Astha showed that he realized that the game that is almost theirs could be spoiled if Kalindi talks to Astha because Kalindi is the one whose thoughts and ideals are the corner stone of Astha's belief system. So he magnanimously and humbly asks for Kirloskars permission to give them a bit of advice regarding how they should behave with their child. He also included an indirect threat in this piece of open hearted advice and that just like he has forgiven Astha for all that she has done, so should Astha's parents forgive Shloke for what he has done. It is another matter that Astha did not have any bad attention against anyone and she was doing it because she saw someone's right is being taken away by the Agnihotris, while Shlok is another matter. Kalindi is still not satisfied and she asks Astha whether she has been pressurized by anyone? Kalindi's guess is not wrong, Astha has been pressurized but the pressurization is not the one that Kalindi is thinking about. Astha has been completely overwhelmed by Shloke and that is why even though she has reservations, she is still moving forward for this relationship. Astha's grandmother said that Astha does not make any decision based on fear but on what her heart is telling her to do. Unfortunately Astha's senses are so overwhelmed with emotions and feelings that it is not paying heed to what her gut instincts are telling her. When Kalindi walks off dejected and angry, Anjali gets furious and she also turns to walk away but is stopped by Niranjan, who not only holds her hand but also strokes it to calm her down and Anjali closes her eyes in frustration. Anjali's every behavior and emotion is controlled by Neeranjan and she does not have any freedom to react as she wants to.

It is not only Kalindi but Avdhut's instincts are also telling him that something is wrong somewhere but he decides to overlook that and accepts the proposal for Astha's sake and clearly tells Neeranjan that his daughter's happiness is the most important thing for him. Wonder what will happen if he ever has to chose between his daughter's happiness and his principles? Niranjan reassures him magnanimously that he has no reason to worry and that Astha will be treated just like his daughter. Oh the daughter who was not even invited to the function! By the way shouldn't Avdhut ask "Neeranjan sahib, you have mentioned your daughter twice now but I have never seen her. Why didn't she come to the function?". But if Avdhut asks this question then he won't be Avdhut. By the way Anjali did give a piercing look towards her husband when he mentioned that he will treat Astha just like he treats his daughter. Sensing the underlying tension Astha's grandmother declares that everyone should forget the past and move forward and the camera focuses on the Agnihotris who do not know how to let go and move forward when their ego is at stake. I mean forget about the outsiders, they cannot even let go of the past when their own blood relative is concerned. I mean Shlok goes to his mother and mockingly congratulates her and then walks away with a smirk on his face probably letting her know that she lost and he won.

There was a scene between Kalindi and Astha that I liked. Liked how they showed Kalindi looking at pictures of Astha's past. Moat probably she was looking at images of Astha's happiness. Both mother and daughter are aware that living in the Agnihotri house is not going to be a cup of tea. When Kalindi tells Astha about her fear, Astha does not reassure her that her fears are unfounded. Initially she keeps quiet and later on when Kalindi again comes to her room with the same worry then she tells her that she knows what she is getting into. Since she has her mother's values in her, she will be able to tackle Anjali and she will mix with them just like sugar. But the problem is that they are thinking of the wrong person, instead of thinking about Anjali they should be more worried about baba Neeranjana and Shlokie baby. Astha is also stubborn regarding this relationship. She tells her mother that if she does not say yes then her happiness will decrease, she does not say that if the mother does not say yes then she will not marry.

Astha's family members have realized that the matter is now out of their hands. Kalindi is still the only one who is still fighting, Avdhut has accepted it because Astha has and the grandmother is saying yes because of society and also because Astha has accepted it. But if the grandmother is so aware of society then why was she ok with Astha talking with Shlok late at night outside the house. I seriously don't understand this woman. I am hoping that when and if they realize that Astha is in danger then they come and stand by her. Kalindi knows that her daughter is nave and does not understand the way the outer world but then why didn't she take any step before. I know that Astha's parents give her space and let her make her own decisions but shouldn't there be some limit. It was also interesting that Kalindi's dislike for Anjali is not only because Anjali finds faults with her upbringing of Astha and hence damages her ego but also because Anjali reminds her of someone with whom she has a bad history. One who had made her life a living hell and she does not want the same thing for Astha.

Today I was actually feeling sorry for baba Neeranjan because he realized that even if he refers to Shlokie baby as his baccha, this baccha of his has a mind of his own and when he gets a bee in his bonnet (actually I was trying to imagine Shlokie baby wearing a bonnet) then nobody can remove it. Here Shlokie baby pointedly told his parents that he has not forgotten or forgiven what has happened in the past with Swati and also warns that he will protect Astha so that the same thing does not happen to her. Baba Neeranjan is not happy with this disclosure and I think today they showed that whatever happened with Swati was Neeranjan's doing. He had a very guilty look. So Shlokie baby is ready to protect Astha from everyone other than himself?

Another secret was revealed regarding this Agnihotri family. By the way, do they have a graveyard in their back garden; I mean the way all these skeletons are continuously popping out. This time it was about Varad and Sojal. It seems that Sojal was not Varad's choice and he married her out of compulsion. For some reason he maintains a distance from his parents, he also maintains a distance from his uncle and also a distance from his wife. He does things when asked and also is sympathetic towards his wife but the closeness is not there. The only people whom he has been shown close to are his baby brother and his daughter. I can understand the daughter but why the brother. I mean Varad is not an idiot, so he should be aware of Shlok's nature. So why this softness? Is it because he knows that Shlok is a tortured soul and there is another facet to Shlok that very few people are aware of.

Regarding Shlokie baby, he was looking very pleased with himself when all the Mahabharath was going on in Asha's. Then he got busy entertaining himself by playing with his current favourite toy, I mean Astha. He teased Astha regarding her saying ILU to him. I am going a bit tangential here but there was a scene where Shlookie baby was simultaneously teasing Astha with a mischievous smile and also popping a laddu in his mouth. Don't know why but that scene reminded me of Neerja writing about Shlokie baby gobbling up Astha😉. Then he calls Astha late at night. I liked how the picturised the scene..he was playing with the switch of the table lamp and as a result his face was alternatively in the dark and then in the light. I also liked it because I usually do that when I am feeling bored or restless and I want some entertainment. Their chat is broken by the appearance of Kalindi. Somehow I am getting a feeling that whatever happens Kalindi's ideals and beliefs that are present in Astha will be there to protect her from the sweet poison called Shlok Agnihotri. That she might bend but will not break.

This Narad chachu is always after people to wind up...today his aim was Anjali (actually it was Neeranjan through Anjali) and he sarcastically warned her that winds of change are arriving and that she will lose control once. Anjali is equally adamant that she will not lose control and she will hold the reigns of everyone in her hand when the reigns are actually not in her hand but in Neeranjan's.

A special mention to Sojal who is back to her own world and is worried whether now she will have to deal with Anjali and Astha. So she decides that she will be the second in command to Anjali.

Wonder what Neeranjan has planned for Astha's parents since he said that is not Anjali who should be worried but the parents of the bride.

Myra: Love your song. Shlok and Niranjan were giving creeps with their satisfied smiles and expressions at Avdhoot's fears.
The star of the day was Kalindi for me. The mother who had seemed so simple in contrast to enigmatic Anjali, and who was ecstatic at Shlok's proposal in the first week, is the one who has her own layers. So the fear for Astha is not only because of what she is sensing about the Agnihotri family, but also because it has roots in her past. The reason she was the star is because unlike Avdhoot, she is not willing to comfort herself and Astha is really important to her. Also like Anjali, she is wary of history repeating itself.
I have to give CVs credit for showing a realistic middle class mother, who is coming out to be as interesting as the Agnihotri clan. Prachi did a great job today. The rest were all great - Shlok with his expresssions, Shrenu in her simple happiness, Tushaar as a father who is not happy but is trying to make peace with it, Manish who as usual is best exuding that air of menace, Geetanjali who had usual suppressed emotions that were raging at the surface. Then Sameer and Shamalee (not sure about her spellings) and Sachin (Vinayak) were very good in their brief roles.
Myra and Misti have already analyzed the show in great detail. So just few more additional observations besides what has already been written:

1. Avdhoot in the end folding his hands in front of Niranjan. Yesterday, he had folded hands in front of Niranjan in anger asking him to leave his house. Today after Astha remained stubborn about marrying Shlok, Avdhoot told his fears to Niranjan about the past encounters coming in way of Astha being happy in Agnihotri household. After Niranjan reassured him (falsely by invoking his daughter), Avdhoot finally accepted the inevitable. He then folded his hands humbly in front of Niranjan beseeching him to make sure that Astha remains happy. What a contrast from yesterday.

So what will he choose in the future? His principles or happiness of his daughter if her happiness comes in way of his principles and honesty. He was quite poignant in that scene where he had to bend because of love of his daughter. Will that become a norm in future or will Astha stand firm and not let him compromise?

2. Shlok's looks when Niranjan told Avdhoot that the past has been forgotten or that Astha will be happy in his house. There was a sarcastic look on his face. So much has been written about Shlok that there is not much else to add. Except that he remains his own person and Niranjan is realizing it too. His gulping showed that he was involved in Swati case and he was not a happy person to hear the protective tone of Shlok for Astha. Astha is Shlok's pet to do as he desires. I especially liked Shlok's scene with Anjali where he leaned closed to her face and said "Congratulations". The one word that came to mind for Shlok at the moment was "Kameena" (or low life). Sorry Myra for using such a word for your precious one.

3. I think aviation one time wrote that Ajji is Kalindi's mother rather than mother-in-law. It seems to be the case based on what was shown today. Ajji is privy to Kalindi's secrets just as a mother would be.

4. Sojal - Sojal's monologue showed that cycle of abuse is continuous and there are only few who can break it. Anjali is abused and so she abuses Sojal. Sojal is insecure about her place in the house and is now fearful of Astha's entry whom she considers to be quite sharp tongue. So she decides to be an abuser to Astha. The cycle continues unless someone breaks it. Probably Astha who assured Kalindi that her value system is of utmost importance, will be the one to break it.

5. Varad - Misti, you are right that skeletons keep on tumbling out. Probably right now Avdhoot is the only who doesn't seem to have any skeleton in his closet. Well, he has his principles that are putting him against Niranjan. So he doesn't need any additional skeletons. So Varad is the one who was not allowed to marry a girl of his choice. This was ironic and another example of Niranjan's hypocrisy considering that Niranjan lectured Kalindi about respecting their children's choices. No wonder Varad has moved away from Niranjan. Maybe his staying in this house is only because of Anjali.

Interesting thing about Varad is that he supports Shlok in everything. Why is that? Either he is loyal to the family despite his problems with them and/or he knows about Niranjan. So does not blame Shlok for anything. He did tell Shlok upon his return to stay at home so that misunderstandings can be cleared. What misunderstanding he was talking about? The one Shlok has about Anjali being the culprit and Niranjan the honest one.

6. Vinayak - He was the only one to provide a light moment in the episode that was too intense. Also he was right that only constant is change and the change was coming to this household because Astha agreed to marry Shlok. Anjali, probably being the classic case of abused personality, finds this order in the household to be her comfort zone and is panicking at losing the comfort zone. So she is vowing to resist the change.

Myra, love your title. It was a creepy episode.
I'll try to keep my post short.

1. NA stopping Anjali by holding her fist, causing her physical pain & then patting it with 'love' reminded me of Shlok/Astha. This is exactly what Shlok has been doing to Astha. First, he hurts her/ignores her then he corners her from all sides & uses violence as a form of concern for her, then he slowly switches to being gentle, very smartly justifying all that violence.

2. I liked Kalindi today. I am glad she voiced her concerns. Also, she spoke of another woman. Could it be that the other woman is Astha's actual mother? Seems like it wasn't so much of an ego problem for Kalindi after all.

3. It was interesting to see Avdoot making & serving tea for the women. Highlighted that Kirloskars never differentiated between man/woman. Stark contrast to Agnihotris, where the minute you're born, your fate is decided based on gender.

4. There seemed to be a foreboding with regards to the crucial role Anjali will play in the future. She might be stuck between her love/loyalty for NA & her sympathy with Astha.

5. Shlok's 'mubarak ho' was a taunt as well as a brilliant way for Shlok to rebel against Anjali & insult her. This was echoed in 2 more scenes today in fact, when NA congratulates Shlok & Shloks walks off saying that he would not tolerate the same thing being done to Astha. Thirdly, the last scene where Shlok exchanges glances with Anjali 1 more time before leaving.
That makes me wonder that if NA had not wanted the alliance, & Anjali opposed it outrightly, which one would Shlok pick? Would he pick obeying his father, or would he pick hurting Anjali to satisfy his own heart & ego that supposedly Anjali broke. I am starting to feel that hurting Anjali might actually take precedence for Shlok.

What's with the writers' obsession with the 'other woman'. Every relationship on this show seems to have that.

@ Myra liked your choice of song. It is quite apt for Astha and Shloke.
