I have read Anna at least 3 times;. Probably one of my favorite book ever!

I got something profound but different from each reading; of course based on life stages & experiences. Now, I have a different perspective. I interpret her incessant seeking of reassurance of Vronsky's love & affirmation as bipolar disorder, with super imposed PMS. Her mood swings, obsessive thoughts, lack of control, decision making all point to this, in my opinion. Not to diagnose, just an observation. Also, with the
added factor of female sexuality in one's 30"40s'; against a repressive society, especially against women.No outlet of help; self loathing, insecurity; despite her secure place (financially) in her society. I think her obsessive thoughts became intolerable to her; down a tragic road of no return.Quite the tragic story on many levels, but riveting. I must re-read.
How big difference does it make in different stages...Tolstoy is genius...Anna struggles with life vs death[[Sanchi!here ..remember]"question only, when her selfish choices begin to turn on her !Anna chooses and regrets death!! This novel will leave an impact ...with heavy heart we have to roam listlessly for some time !!Really a great novel ..I advise everybody to read it once !!
Is Sanchi going to commit suicide...by scraping that J ??

I think almost everything in life is pretty much subjective - and so is love. Whether Sanchi truly loves Jagya is a matter of opinion and can be debated. But the way I see it, it's not true, unconditional love.
