They had their faults, but in the original epic they are much more cultured and respectable in their manner of talking. Even the Kauravas were more mannered than they are shown here, including Karna.

So far, the only character who is written somewhat accurately is Yudhisthir, but even he has become a boring secondary character compared to Arjun, who is clearly being shown as the leader of the Pandavas. They might as well make him King of Indraprastha. 😆 It would be the least of all their distortions.

I completely agree. This serial started going south w/ the end of Pandu, and has gotten worse since the adults arrived. Only Karna's, Nakul's, Sahadev's & Dushashan's casting look appropriate, but even there, they've made Karna worse.

The adult Pandavas - sorry, but Shaheer just don't cut it for me. Nothing against him, but he's ill suited for this role, and if he has to be a lead, this is not the serial for him, b'cos in the Mahabharata, there were no 'leads', not even Krishna. A lot of people played major roles - Bheeshma, Krishna, Karna, Yudisthir, Draupadi, Bhima, Arjun & Duryodhan. Twisting the story to make him larger than life, and making him appear separately from the rest of the Pandavas is just grating.

I'm right now just following the updates - nothing justifies going out of my way to watch it.

No, Karna was known to be a sutaputra, so no way would that have been required.

Also, at that stage, all the rudeness usually came from the Pandavas, and little from Karna. All the hostility they're showing in Karna towards Arjun is simply to make Arjun look better than he actually was.

I enjoyed Bhima breaking Duryodhan's statue today - in fact, that was the only reason I watched. The Arjun Subhadra scene was meh

I wonder whether they'll show Shikhandi fighting on Drupada's side, or whether it'll just be him

Why was Duryodhan's statue being made? I thought the statues were made only for the kings of Hastinapur and he was not even the yuvraj then...

Is Shikha Singh Shikhandini or Shikhandi? Do the CVs even know that the 2 are different?

Yeah, Amba was reborn to Drupada as Shikandini, but Drupada was told by Mahadev himself that this girl was destined to become a man. Drupada therefore brought her up as one, sending her to gurukul in male attire, having her raised as a man, and ultimately, when it was time for marriage, got her married to the daughter of king Hiranyavarma. That bride discovered that her husband was a woman, and gave that news to her father, who threatened war on Drupada. Shikhandini felt guilty about being the cause of her father's troubles, and went away to end her life. However, she came across a yaksha, w/ whom she swapped genders, and returned to the kingdom as a man - Shikhandi. His wife then reported to her father that all was well, and Hiranyavarma called off the war. Shikhandi later had a son Kshatravarma, who in the war was killed either by Drona or by Duryodhan's son Lakshman - the text says 2 things in 2 different places.

Anyway, Shikandi was not a woman, so I don't see how Shikha Singh gets to play him. Had he been a woman, not just Bheeshma, even the Pandavas would have refused to put him in their army. But he was one of the 7 commanders, and fought several battles w/ several Kauravas, not just Bheeshma.

Bad casting. She'd have been okay as Shikhandini, but not as Shikhandi

I believe they are trying to cast her as Shikandini.. May be later when the gender swap happens they would either put a male in place or make-up her to look male.. I dont think they will do this blunder.. I should say I hope 😃

Shikha may play both the roles. She is good in action scenes. Have seen her in LRL as an Army cadet. Even as Amba in Lado, she was good. I like her.

Well shikhandini is initially a woman only later chnages into a man hence intially casting a woman for this role is fine.Besides the girl playing shikhandidni isnt very femnine looking hence later when she has to play a man i think she will be able to to pull it off well.
But more than looks it is the acting that matters. The way CV's have characterized her she seems to be a strong woman character and i love such characters hope she is able to pull it of well.
