The TRP travails continue. MB TRPs were approx. 2.2, a 5% decrease (TVTs went to 4,519 from 4,743 the week prior.) MB's position is now at #16, compared to #13 the week before. The large majority of top shows showed an increase over the prior week.

This seems to indicate that the execution of the current track (mean Pabbho, gloom and doom bhavishyavaanis, weak RM despite heroine track) is not getting any real traction with viewers. The core audience is pretty much the same - hovering around that 2.2 TRP range. Unfortunately, the viewers who left during the previous track have not returned in any significant numbers. Neither does it seem like this track has attracted new viewers.

Some observations on daily trends. A quick look at daily TRPs (see Leela's post page 126) indicates that a drop happened on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which had an impact on the week's average. Interestingly, the Wednesday episode was focused on the bhavishyavaani. Mondays in general seem to start off on a relatively weak note, possibly an effect on the prior Saturday's episode

Weekly TRP trends are below (note: data converted from TVTs to TRPs so that we could have consistent comparison points. This is a rough inexact conversion and may not match to the second decimal place with other estimates due to minor differences in conversion methodology)

Note: Data converted from TVTs to TRPs from week 31 onwards. Does not take into consideration impact of adding new markets at various points. Size of these markets, viewing patterns, demographics, level of digitization etc. of those markets would impact TRPs. Also, hard to judge IPL's exact impact.

The two charts below show: 1) Top 15 shows TRPs and 2) TRP increase/drop for those shows, compared to the week prior. The blue bars on the second chart are the ones that did better, the red are the ones that did worse, and the no bars are the ones that were the same.

Note: this is a rough analysis. Please feel free to point out any holes 😊.

I agree with all of you. Pabbho seems to be toxic effect #2. To add to the pall of gloom, they are constantly showing a weak Madhu and weak RK. Unless they turn it around by showing a dynamic, upbeat couple resolved to together emerge victorious despite all the all odds, the prognosis for TRPs is not good. The heroine track - what should have been a feel good thing, regardless of the circumstances causing Madhu to enter films, looks very blah as of now.

Am not saying she should not share her concerns with her husband.. She most definitely should... It is this open communication, even if they are in disagreement with each other, that helps prevent grave problems from cropping up in a relationship...It is this hiding that had led to problems before and she is doing the same thing even now..
but that is besides the point atm what with in a matter of few hours, she has been cursed, she didn't perform well that had indirectly led to the mess which she wanted to prevent and for which she had prepared the food and she comes home to be drilled by everyone into driving the same point...

Zoy, after watching yest. episode, we can say that therez an on off switch in RM 🤣

just a random thought,:

madhu's film character's name is Anamika, which means one with no name, how appropriate is that, she is a person who has no name in Bollywood as yet, she comes in to it as a person without any name (read fame)
