Chapter One
A hectic day at work saw Sanchi quite tired and at the same time extremely satisfied at her achievement on that day. She sat on her jeep --- her best friend which ferried her up and down to work. It was her lovely and silent companion that always stood by her. That day was different for she had to meet a SOMEONE and so as destiny would play its part to perfection her jeep broke down.
Dhruv was on his two wheeler zooming back home after meeting his client. He had a lot of things going on in his mind. He had to make it big and soon enough. He had a lot of dreams in life --- mainly of living it fully and in style --- sharing smiles and laughter along the way with all those whom he met.
Sanchi had never stopped anyone for a lift or to ask for help but on that day as she was in two minds whether she should break her self-imposed norms and actually stop that bike which was approaching, Dhruv noticed a damsel in distress and he couldn't help but stop to help her. So stop he did!
Sanchi at first was not too comfortable at a young ---really young man offering to help her with trying his hand at the jeep and when it did not work out asking her to sit on the back seat of his bike. This was too much for her. But since she was stranded and did not have an option she decided to go ahead and take his help and get dropped at home. He had told her that he stayed close to her residence.
She sat down taking care to maintain a safe distance from his back as he started his bike. The journey which began on this day went on to become an endless one of love and understanding between the two.
(How did that happen? We'll see as this story progresses...)
Dhruv tried to start a conversation.
Dhruv: So what's your name madam?
Sanchi: I'm Sanchi.
Dhruv: I'm Dhruv and I stay at Dils place as a paying guest. Oh sorry ---- you may not know who Dils is right?
Sanchi: I know her. She is my neighbour and a very good friend too.
Dhruv: Oh really that's nice then. We both seem to be heading towards the same place.
As he said this, he saw a person cross the road and he had to steer the bike slightly away to save him. He got angry at this pedestrian.
Dhruv: Why did you choose my vehicle to come in the way?
Sanchi: Please Dhruv, don't be harsh on him. You need to drive with a cool head.
Dhruv: Sorry, I can't keep quiet when people do not follow the road rules and cross wherever they feel like and however they want. They need to be taught a lesson.
Sanchi: You are really short tempered. That's because you are young. Soon you will realise the importance of being cool and calm as it helps a lot in the long run.
Dhruv stopped the bike. He asked Sanchi to get off and she did.
Dhruv: What did you say? I am young? Then do you mean to say you are OLD?
Sanchi: No, but I am older to you. So more mature.
Dhruv looked at her intently as she was getting conscious.
Sanchi: Now are we going to argue standing here on this or will you really drop me home?
Dhruv smiles as he asked her to sit back after he got up on to his bike.
This time when he drove he made sure to actually look at Sanchi properly through his rear view mirror and found her to be quite attractive. He did not say anything though. Sanchi sat thinking if she should have given a piece of her mind to him or she should have minded her own business.
She was lost in thought when Dhruv had to call out to her twice to tell her to get off as they had reached their destination.
