Aditya Roy Kapoor born on 16 November 1985 in Mumbai, India. He is an Indian film actor and former VJ for Channel V. He pursued his education from the prestigious G. D. Somani Memorial School, in Cuffe Parade, Mumbai and completed his graduation from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.
Aditya has a filmy background as his grandfather came to Mumbai from Lahore to make his fate in Bollywood and thereby eventually after his mother who is a famous dancer, the three brothers Aditya Roy Kapoor and his two elder brothers all started their career in Bollywood.

The actor began his career as a VJ on Channel [V], where his comic timing and very different style of anchoring made him a hit, and then he made his debut in Bollywood as a Pakistani musician in the 2009 musical London Dreams by Vipul Shah, where he co-starred Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan.

Then came Vipul Shah's next, a 2010 time-traveling comedy movie "Action Replayy", playing the role of Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai's adult son who goes back in time to make their marriage a love marriage, his performance in the film caught a critic's eye. He acted again alongside Aishwarya Rai, in Guzaarish (2010) directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, where he played an apprentice magician to Hrithik Roshan's character.

Recently he made his Bollywood debut as a solo actor opposite Shraddha Kapoor in Bhatt Camp's sequel of Aashiqui that is Aashiqui 2 which brought him huge success.

Aditya is not a trained actor, though he has taken dance lessons and also diction classes to improve his Hindi accent. According to him he "had no a burning ambition to become an actor," and was content being a VJ, until he was called to audition for London Dreams. During his school years, he wanted to be a cricketer but he quit cricket coaching classes after sixth standard. He loved his sports cricket, football and music.
Aditya's fortunes changed when he auditioned for Channel V and shot to fame as a VJ. It is then that Vipul Shah called him to audition for London Dreams. He plays football for a celebrity league team by the name of 'All Stars Football Club'. Apart from cricket and football, he also loves playing pool and hitting gym.
Aditya is romantic and his love life is quite amazing and right now as sources say he is dating Shraddha Kapoor.

Family History

The Roy Kapurs grew up in a liberal and creative atmosphere in an upper middle-class family in Mumbai's Cuffe Parade. Their father is an armyman-turned-businessman and their mother Salome Aaron, the winner of Miss India 1972 title, is a dancer by profession.
However, all three seemed to have borrowed the love for cinema from their paternal grandfather, Raghupat Roy Kapur, who left the family business in Lahore and came to Mumbai to spent his fortune and made four feature films. He produced Shahenshah Akbar (1943), Zanjeer (1947), directed Lekh (1949), Banwar (with Raj Kapoor in 1950). Aditya Roy Kapur's maternal grandparents Ruby and Sam Aaron were professional dancers who coached many Hindi movie stars.
The "Roy" in Aditya's surname comes from the departmental store ("Roy Bros") that his forefathers owned in Lahore. Over time the "Roy" got attached to the "Kapur" surname.

Aditya Roy Kapur is half Jewish and half Punjabi as his mother Salome Aaron, a former Miss India is Christian and father is punjabi. His father is an armyman-turned-businessman. Kapur's mother, Salome Aaron won the Miss India 1972 title organized by "Eve's Weekly". Salome has choreographed Hindi movies, including the super hit Bobby. Salome also modeled (Cadbury, Godrej, ITC, Taj Mahal Tea, Century Mills, etc). She has also acted in "Tuhi Meri Zindagi" opposite Deb Mukherjee.

Aditya has two elder brothers. Siddharth is 11 years older to him and Kunaal six years older. Siddharth Roy Kapur, his elder brother is the CEO of the prestigious UTV Motion Pictures. Vidya Balan tied the knot to Siddharth Roy Kapur on the 14th of December, 2012. On the other hand his other brother, Kunaal Roy Kapur is another well-known actor and director who had appeared in numerous films like 'Delhi Belly', 'Mumbai Calling' and now 'Nautanki Saala'.
