Remember how Emily was introduced at Night college??/ She was bold, loved doing pranks on classmates, helped Sandy adjust to new friends at college, ...one day came to Sandy's house as an imposter posing as TAX officer and scared the hell out of Bhabho, Meena, Chavi et al. Remember those days???

When things did not work between Emily and Mohit, Emily was bold enough to file a court case immediately against Mohit and got his DNA on Holi day celebrations to prove that Mohit indeed fathered her child...do you guys remember that Emily?? She was bold enough to go to Maasa's village knowing fully well that it could be bad as hell...Emily was the one who would not tolerate nonsense...

And now, she is one bheegi billi.🐷...she is so scared of Mohit's dhamki of DIVORCE...she is so scared of Bhabho that she cannot say one sentence properly...she has become a liar, a manipulator...CV's changed her character so much that I feel like Emily is dead now 🤢...CV's killed the real Emily 🤢...

Sandy helped Emily become part of RP and now that Emily is part of RP, she is pursuing a path that MIGHT destory Sandy's dream...why is she on that path??? Because she is married to one low-life named Mohit who uses the word DIVORCE as many times as SURAJ uses the word SANDHYA JEE

If Emily WINS the competition or Sandy sacrifices for Emily's sake, then I PROMISE I WILL DIVORCE DABH, sab khatam, koi RISHTA NAHI RAHEGA 🤣...I will NEVER CREATE ANY THREAD ON THIS FORUM 😡

Timepass, exactly right. How can bold Emily suddenly shake with fright at everything and everyone in RM? She's a nervous wreck.

And why do Sandy and Emily behave so formally with each other in RM? I have a hard time believing they even knew each other before.

Nice post. They did skip the transformation stage of Emily from a young liberal educated girl to Adarsh Bahu in their enthusiasm to show the success of IR marriage. That is definitely a flaw in story telling. However, I don't find Emily behaving in the way she does, odd. Why should you expect everybody to be super woman and selfless like Sandhya. Emily is a normal girl who is madly in love with Mohit and will move heaven and earth to win his affection. For her this was the most important exam and Sandhya's philanthrophy ruined it. Tell me how many of us in the forum will stop by and clear the traffic if we are appearing for an important exam. Will we not look for an alternative route to reach the exam hall ? You remember Shant you took out a thread once supporting Chavvi's decision to study from a leaked paper which you said was the practical way to go. How is this different ? It is easy to preach but difficult to practice. She put legal pressure on Mohit because she was desperate to marry him. Once she achieved that, her only motto now is to win over Mohit and Bhabo. A divorce among Roman Catholics is difficult and looked down upon. She has no choice but to stick on and wait for Mohit to change for better. Her joining the competition is a result of the same desperation to stay on in the Rathi Mansion. There are many in India who are educated and still take humiliation, insults, domestic violence and stick on with a hope for an optimistic future. Emily is no different. To my mind to expect all characters to behave like SurYa is wrong. They are one in a billion I would say. At the end of the day every one of us is selfish but tend to justify our selfishness by giving umpteen reasons but condemn others for the same trait.

Paaji your last paragraph killed me up completely. 🤣.

@Uma Aunty:- You've explained reality so well. I completely agree with you. Even I didn't find ems behavior illogical. If I was in place of her I'd have opt for the same option - look for an alternative route. I also even go further i've never followed traffic rules while driving car/scooty. I don't think so I'm performing all my duties as a 'responsible citizen'..

Thanks for lovely points but I am not expecting Emily to act as super woman. All I am saying is why Emily is not the same Emily as she was before marriage. How can a person change 180 degrees immediately after marriage. Emily went all the way to get what she wanted...Mohit...and Emily was fearless...suddenly she has become so insecure and so fearful...why? And in Catholic or any religion divorce is not a taboo any more...if it happens it happens

Thanks Anusha jee and Amisha for ur feedbacks

nice post paaji

i think they started well in grooming her character
but i dont know why there is a sudden transformation in her character
to be precise her character was killed on the day she tried to impress bhabho by wearing the traditional attire

from there no looking back
she lost her identity, the self confidence
she knew mohit very well
during gaav track he was almost like he would kill her
she should have expected mohit's harsh words on their first night

i would have liked her to be bold as well
it reminds me of bhabhsa's dialogue
sherni se memni😆

@Shant I have already stated that the transformation is flawed in my comment. About Catholicism divorce is very difficult and annulment takes years. I know that for sure because I live in a Roman Catholic country. Emily obviously is not that irreligious as she did not take the abortion route to end her relationship with Mohit as that again was against Roman Catholicism. To that extent she is religious enough to believe in the sanctity of marriage and hope fervently for a better turn in the future.

@UMDU Ji...well said.
I also don't think Emily's character was killed or anything.
She felt true remorse when Sandhya took the blame for the MKD fiasco. She even told Mohit and wanted to tell Bhabo. Even with the Chit Fund money loss...she wants to tell Bhabo the truth but Mohit threatens her and holds her back. So her innate nature of being good at heart is still there, but being surpressed at the moment. Yes she may have played pranks before she was carefree or married...but life is very different for her now.
Also...the fact that she is desperately in love with Mohit is something that has been constant from the start. So it's not surprising that she is willing to go to all extents to keep or save her relationship with her husband.
Let's also not forget that she is pregnant and constantly walking on egg shells due to Mohit and Bhabo. So I was not surprised by the desperation she showed today during the traffic jam.
It may have seemed like she was complaining about Sandhya...but in reality she was only answering Bhabo's questions.

timepass ji...I totally agree with you...it's not about Emily being practical/logical, it's about character transformation...the girl who wanted to teach bhabo a lesson for mistreating her friend, today was shown very selfish and inconsiderate...I understand the importance of reaching the competition venue on time, but her behaviour after that is what irked me...CVs have destroyed her completely...

UMDUji, Emily being a Roman Catholic is not applicable now...I dont see her attending church or being a christian...but i agree with you that you can expect other character to behave like Surya...

In laws can do that to a girl. I speak from experience. My husband married me against all odds and ideally no one should have had any objections to our wedding either (we belong to the same caste and subcaste in Iyer families, we are both educated, we've both had fantastic careers and by God;s grace now have 3 lovely kids) but all of this is also not enough. When people try to find flaws, they find them. I saw it in an old tamil movie once- a person puts a black dot on a paper and asks another person what they see- they saw the black dot. however, the person who put the dot there made the observation that it was a black dot on a whole white sheet of paper (everyone ignored the white paper). I used to be quite a rebel before I got married. but I love my husband so much that i have and am willing to take a lot of $hi! from his family in the hopes that some day things will change for the better. i am still waiting, and still trying...
