Oh no Anj there is a huge meaning behind this piece, but it's my own. The reader can take anything that relates to them out of this. It's like a song. For the creator it is about something, someone, but for the people that listen they relate it to different aspects of their life.

It's like she's lost all her hopes and beliefs after witnessing the things happened to 'her'...and Arnav was right there to make her believe again!

'The moon light from the sky let out its subtle glow in to the lake, reminding me that there is some light in this darkness.' - This reminded me of 'innocence in her eyes' :)

Yeh, it wasn't just that, some of the other things she remembered 'her' saying reminded me of things Insea's mum said to her.That's why I asked if Kushi was referring to her mother :)
