The day is marked by colorful processions of bejeweled images of Goddess Gauri winding their way through cities and villages, accompanied by boisterous bands. The local delicacy ghewar is distributed to family and friends.

On the occasion of Gangaur, Nykaa will help you achieve Parvati's much loved simple yet breathtaking look.

Eyes: Sonarika's beautiful almond-shaped eyes are perfectly lined with jet black kohl/liner to give them more definition. Use a copper eye shadow all over the lid and a dark brown on the outer corners to give a soft smoky effect. Now blend the harsh edges using an orange/peach eye shadow in the crease. Apply dark black kohl on the lower and upper waterline. Then apply black gel liner on the upper lash line and wing it at the outer corners….giving it a retro vintage look. Lastly apply lots of mascara to add drama to your peepers. You can also fake it with lashes available at Nykaa to further accentuate your look!

Face: Start with a moisturizer. Then mix illuminator with foundation and apply all over face and neck for a glowing finish. Follow up with face powder to set the foundation in place. Cover dark-circles with a good concealer. Remember you want a clear, glow, not a cakey look. Use a peachy pink blush with slight shimmer to highlight cheekbones.

Lips: Any lipstick with natural hues will suffice. A nice coral lipstick will brighten up the face for fair to medium skin tone. A fresh pink shade will suit other skin tones.

Hair: If you have long to medium length hair, just blow drying is enough. Opt for a middle parting. You could also make a messy bun or try a half ponytail.

Final touch: If you are trying this look for an occasion or wedding, accessorize with nice kundan jewelry and don't forget the maang-tikaa and red and white bindi! Har Har Mahadev!!
