The Gupta House Track & Arnav's metamorphis

Just been bitten by the nostalgia bug...Watching and rewatching the episodes, the different tracks. So much has been written about the Payash wedding track when the arnav khushi romance first blosoomed. But there was another track which saw the metamorphis of Arnav singh Raizada.

The Gupta house track !!

I still remember, that was the time when viewers had lost patience and were clamouring for arnav to know the truth about shyam. We never wanted khushi to suffer any more. Neither could we bear to see the longing in arnav's eyes and the hurt and the betrayal he felt, his heart torn between his love and hate for khushi.

The Gupta house track was mainly characterised by the nautanki of khushi, where she played trick after trick to irritate arnav. Some of the most outrageous things she did like making him bathe in public. We were really most outraged then. But amidst all this , dint we see arnav's love for khusi growing..? This in spite of the MU still being there?

We saw arnav brave the inconveniences he faced at GH. We saw him understand and appreciate buaji & amma's affection and concern. We saw him order food for all. We saw him order and pay for the ration for the guptas explaining off his gesture simply by saying 'mein khata bhi to bahut hoon'

We saw him get paani poori becaz khushi loved it.

Remember that scene when khushi falls of the ladder on top of arnav with the flowers falling down on them..? remeber how concerned arnav was when khushi started climbing the ladder, how he ran after her to make sure she did not get into trouble ? Now looking back, all of those episodes look so cute.

So many other scenes stand out. Like, when khushi tries to unsucessfully repair the generator set and thne arnav repairs it...

'Khushi tum har kaam karne ki koshish mat kiya karo...tum har kaam nahi kar sakti...'

'jaise aap...'..

'meri baat aur hai...mein arnav singh raizada hoon...'(The arrogance and self assured manner in which he says these words , all with his chracteristic smirk !)

Then when khushi enters their room which is now full of things because of the wedding guests staying at GH, she doesnt see arnav first and then finds him sitting in a corner with his laptop.

'Aap humse chip kyu rahe hain..'?

'Mein tumse kyu chupu..?...kahi aur baithne ki jagah dikh rahi hai tumhe ?...

Such cute exchanges...

There were some moments of sheer bliss during the Gupta house track. That naak lal wala scene. It was almost as if the memory of khushi's supposed betrayal had faded off until he was rudely reminded by the gift wrapping he found in the drawer , written by shyam for khsuhi

Yet, when he hears khushi weave a happy tale of their blissful marriage to her amma, the guilt he feels, the longing with which he holds her hand at night, while sleeping, as if he was afraid she would disappear from his life.

And finally, the confrontation on the terrace and later on the way back home.'tumne mujhe explaination dena jaroori nahi samjha khushi...yah phir kehne ke liye kuch tha hi nahi'...kyu ki tum jaanti thi ki tum galat ho'..

We all felt sorry for khushi because she had been misunderstood and had suffered for no falult of hers. But arnav suffered too. His suffering was due to the fact that he couldnt help loving the girl who he believed had destroyed his sister's marriage.

As we look back, cant help but appreciate the creatives who gave us such mindblowing situations, scenes, dialogues. And ofcourse barun sanaya who brought them to life.

Seriously,,, how i miss IPK, anav & khushi..those magical episode where even the most ordinary of scenes were brought to life by Sarun.I seriously doubt if we can ever have another serial like IPPKND which would weave its magic in such a profound manner that we would never ever wish to come out of its spell.

Very well written post. I doubt whether anything like IPK will happen again. No, it won't until IPKKND 2 comes back with Sarun. I was just thinking if IPK 2 ever happens with Sarun, can it be a string of several Arshi ffs/ SSs like the ones we see in this forum? Each Arshi FF in that IPK 2 will take, for example, 13 or 26 episodes to finish & then another Arshi FF or SS will start & thus it will go on. If this happens it will be different from the other mega-serials too & it will take away the usual boredom associated with mega-serials. This will give the viewers to catch/explore different aspects of Arshi romance with the characters of Arnav & Khushi set in different backgrounds in different FFs. That will add variety & novelty. But I know that this is just wishful thinking as IPK 2 or Sarun pairing up on screen is a very remote possibility as of now. But as long as we live we will continue to hope that Sarun & IPK magic happens once again. Kyun ki, jab tak hai saans, tab tak hai aas 😕
