Prologue ____________________________________________________________
He stepped back a little, catching his breath.
"How could he be so stupid, how!" he questioned himself. This
wasn't the right time; he had to make it out of here, fast.
He looked around and then cautiously tilted his head a
little, no one in sight.
He breathed a sigh of relief, for the moment but an immediate
instinct alarmed him, where was she?.
He looked around frenetically. And for a split second he thought he had seen
someone on the right wing of the warehouse. But the view wasn't clear and from
his 17 months work he knew there wasn't any place near from where he could be
harmed. He was safe. For now.
But he knew there had to be a backup plan too. He looked at
his digital watch-7 minutes remaining.
He had no choice now; he had to jump, run, save himself. He looked
up at the sky and sighed, wishing for a shooting star at dawn.
He stealthily crawled up to the cylinder lined at a
distance. Taking a deep breath he got up, ready to move. He looked around, his
heart pounding as sweat beads trickled down his face. He walked and in fraction
of seconds shifted next to the big cartons and iron rods. He breathed. Moving
his right leg forward and crouching a bit, he peeped from behind, clear. He was
about to keep his left leg, "THUD" he moved his arm with a jerk and turned
around slowly, down went an iron rod rolling. He gulped hard, this couldn't be happening.
He mustered the little courage left and
looked in front. He had to do this. He waited for a nanosecond and then
jumped.
A gunshot heard.
Murder reported: 5:39 a.m.
