Ek Thi Naayika: Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar come together

Television's favourite bahus Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar are all set to team up for Ekta Kapoor's mega series 'Ek Thi Naayika'.

'Ek Thi Naayika' is a thrilling eight-part promotional series for Vishal Bhardwaj and Balaji Motion Pictures' upcoming supernatural thriller - 'Ek Thi Daayan'.

Smriti, who became a household name after playing Tulsi in Kapoor's 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', will play a Gujarati woman in the series.

The actress-turned-politician recently shot for the promo of the show with Sakshi.

Sakshi is currently playing the lead in 'Bade Acche Lagte Hain' and will play a Rajasthani woman.

"We are glad to come back to work again together after so many years," Sakshi said, who has hosted a dance reality show with Smriti earlier.

"We are glad to be part of 'Ek thi Naayika' but you will wait and watch whether it's a positive or negative role," said Smriti.

'Ek thi Naayika' will also feature six other top TV actresses including Aamna Sharif, Mauli Ganguly, Shweta Tiwari, Kritika Kaamra, Pooja Gaur and Ankita Lokhande.

The show will air from March 9 on Life OK.

No. It sounds like Smriti and Saaksi are playing the central characters.

I just hope she comes back to PR soon. Hope this coma track finishes soon

same here, even though her character is not that involved in the storyline, i still cant picture the show without her. Guess we have to wait for 2 more months, possibly 2.5-3 😉

While the initial speculations were that Ekta Kapoor's promotional activity around the Balaji film Ek Thi Daayan would be titled Daayan on Life OK, we hear that the show's title has undergone change.

These short films/show based on eight mahanayakas has been named 'Ek Thi Naayka'. The first story will be aired on the channel on March 8th which according to our sources will be Ankita Lokhande along with Sachin Shroff.

Our attempts to reach Ankita, Ekta's first mahanayika, remained futile. However, we are sure that Ankita's fans are going to be thrilled to see her back on screen as they have been missing her in Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta.

In Ek thi Naayika, there will be, it seems clear from listening to Emraan Hashmi's intro, 8 separate stories, each with one of these 8 heroines as the main protagonist, for the title shows that the series in woman-centric.

None of the 8 will feature in the stories other than her own. Each story will be a two parter, on Saturday and Sunday.

So Ankita should be the central character in her episode.

It was already posted. This is not a serial which has main leads. It's a promotional show of 16 episodes. 8 actors will have individual episodes.
