I have been so taken up with your
Lady in Red that I had almost forgotten how well you can handle pure love stories. Not romance, that over-used word, not passion, not overt sensuality, but simple, enduring, all encompassing love. The kind of love that can defeat near death, and pull the loved one back to the living by sheer force of will. Like the love of Savitri for Satyavan. So here you have Arjun as a sort of male version of Savitri, and how beautifully it works!
This one is so redolent of that kind of love that it warms the heart. I generally have no use for these over-commercialised events like Valentine's Day, or for the Karan Johar trademark excess in accessories - heart-shaped red balloons, creamy cakes, and the lot. But your Roshni and Arjun are so genuinely in love that I forgive her (and you) even all this tripe.
I have always loved the flashbacks with Roshni, which are the only times Arjun comes alive, when his unexpected smile is so sweet as to be shocking. She is not just very beautiful, lively, fully alive. She is all woman, very feminine, and yet so much her own person, secure in her beliefs and in her power over him.
How can anyone expect him to forget such a woman, even after her death, and pass on to another - Riya or someone else? I would have no regard for him if he had done that. So I am truly happy that you have here rescued him from the slough of despond and given him back his love, and thus his life. I am not at all a mushy romantic, but this was one happy ending that I cheered unreservedly.
Just one doubt: why would his colleagues in the police mock his steadfast devotion to his comatose wife? It sounds very unfeeling, indeed cruel, and downright ugly.
