In the past few days I'm seeing so many articles on the forum regarding what happened in the past in Rashid's two families including some confusion about the age and order of the children etc. So I felt like making a post on this and try to put down what I can decipher from everything they have shown so far, because some things were very clear even before they showed yesterdays flash back.
1. Rashid was definitely married to Dilshad and Shirin at the same time or else had an extramarital affair with Shirin (while married to Dilshad) and Shirin had Ayaan out of wedlock. But this is very unlikely to have happened, because I don't think they would show this in a Muslim social drama of this kind ( or would they be bold enough to show it?). So the most probable conclusion is that Rashid was married to both at the same time. Now in the initial episodes, in some of Dilshad's flash backs it was clearly shown that Rashid and Dilshad were very much in love in the initial days of their relationship.. they were having sweet moments together and Dilshad was seen giving him a list of things that she wanted on each of her anniversary ( or was it birthday, don't remember that well) on each year, as gifts. And Rashid remembers that list even after 17 years and gifted her that watch recently.
2. So the BIG question is how did Shirin enter the picture when Rashid and Dilshad were so much in love? This is the only thing confusing to me... because when it comes to marriage, even among Muslims, it is not common for a man to go and marry another woman while he is happily married to a woman and that too if it was a love marriage, which was what Rashid and Dilshad obviously had( I am not talking here about Arabs among whom, having multiple wives is common or let us say the NORM- no offence meant here).. and so my guess is that Rashid met Shirin somewhere and had some kind of attraction (or infatuation) towards her even though he was still married and in love with Dilshad. Remember in one of the episodes while Raziya was talking to Shirin regarding Rashid, Raziya said something like "you should try to keep your husband attracted to you" and Shirin innocently replied that she did not have to do anything to attract Rashid, because Rashid fell for her the moment he saw her. And she meant about what happened in the past.
So my assumption is Rashid had kind of an affair or a fling with Shirin(because as per Shirin, Rashid fell for her) while still married to Dilshad and things somehow led to a situation which forced him to marry Shirin.. What comes to my mind here is something like what happened in the old hindi movie Masoom, starring Shabana Azmi and Naseerudhin Shah. I'm not saying that they got Ayaan while Shirin and Rashid were not married... I am saying the affair or whatever happened between Shirin and Rashid must be something like what happened in Masoom, and that must have been the one big mistake of Rashid's life for which he is paying even today...
3. Now why did Rashid marry Shirin? He might have married her under pressure after their affair became known to Maamujaan and Shirin's family OR its also very possible that he married her on his own will, during the initial days of their affair because Islamic law allows to have two wives.. Whichever way things might have happened, It's very obvious that his real love was and is Dilshad and he never wanted to leave her purposefully and go with Shirin..
And Dilshad, because she loved him so much, must have forgiven him when she came to know about his affair and marriage to Shirin and agreed to continue to be his wife and for about 5 years, ( Ayann is 22 years now and so 17 years back when they got separated Ayaan would be 5 years old and Asad perhaps 10 or 12 years) Rashid had lived with two wives(in separate houses) and that was the time shown in the flash back of yesterdays episode when Asad and Ayaan had gotten so much attached to each other.. Dilshad was seen pregnant with Najma in the beginning of the flash back. But i think Nikhath is elder to Najma and Nuzhath is the youngest.
4. Why did Rashid get separated from Dilshad and her 2 children ultimately?
Here again I feel that Rashid was kind of forced to make that decision by Maamujaan, and the reason for Maamujaan's interference could be Shirin's insecurity (because of Rashid's love and partiality towards Dilshad) which even today she still have..And here, I am saying KIND of forced because I feel that even if Maamujaan and his mother had pressured Rashid and his financial condition was very grave, he could still have chosen not to leave Dilshad..there is a way out of every situation.
But still ,I somehow always feel that Rashid has more to his character than what is depicted in the serial till now, which is that of a selfish man who doesn't care at all... we are humans and most of us are not perfect..(and we do come across many men who gets momentarily diverted by their emotions and have an affair while still happily married and later regret that and choose to stay with the wife whom he loves.. but here for whatever the reason was, the opposite has happened and Rashid chose Shirin while still loving Dilshad).. So however that happened and whatever circumstances led to it, it's very obvious that Shirin was something Rashid got into, in a moment of weakness, for which he and his whole family has to suffer even today..Rashid,Dilshad, Shirin, Asad, Ayaan, nikhat.. everyone is suffering because of that one mistake of Rashid, but I still feel that the person who is suffering the most and paying for his deeds is Rashid himself.. It's obvious that 17 long years of separation has still not dimmed his feelings towards Dilshad and that he does not have that kind of feelings towards Shirin.. It's also obvious that he does care for his children including Asad.. its also clear that today he regrets leaving Dilshad..but today he is torn between his LOVE (Dilshad) and his OBLIGATION(Shirin).. And Maamujaan and Raziya keep him tied.
Or else, Rashid Khan could be someone who is a bit more selfish than what I think he is… someone who is selfish enough to have chosen his AMBITION (the money and financial gains offered by Maamujaan) over his LOVE, without a second thought at that time but later regrets that decision.
Many things are yet to be cleared but some things are very clear and I have faith that the CV's will not let us down and will unfold the past in a plausible way. Let's be patient and let them tell the story slowly on their own way and let's enjoy QH – a unique story.
