Just 200 days or 6 months of regular work should be enough for most of them to generate a crore! 5 years of work should be enough to make at least 5 crores...and then bank interest on it would be Rs.50 lac per year!

I get it but none of the contestants are on the list. Thats the reason they are in BB coz they need money or the platform to give their careers the boost.

Yeah but these people are MAIN Leads in big shows and have been around for a while.. There's no one in there right now who will get paid as much as these people do for each episode..

I don't watch any Hindi TV show except BB, yet except for Ashika, Qureshi and Imam, I knew all of them before they entered the house..If they were not celebrities, how would I've known them?😕

On a related note, BB winners have never been successful. Look at the record:

Season 1 - Rahul Roy - he won and took the money and no one knows what happened to him afterwards

Season 2 - Ashutosh - was known a Roadies winner, but after winning BB, he became a nobody!! Only seen yesterday

Season 3 - Vindoo - won because of Akshay Kumar and later got chota-mota roles in couple of Akshay movies. Other than that, he too didn't shine after BB

Season 4 - Shweta Tiwari - was already a big TV star, but winning BB didn't help her career to shoot ahead, she continue shining on the small screen which she was doing anyway. She didn't get film offers or anything like that

Season 5 - Juhi Parmar took the money and vanished. Only seen in photos with Sky gang

My point is BB as a show has failed to be a platform to help anyone to achieve success. Winners of BB have not benefited in any way from the show - other than the money of course!!

Its not just about the money...

The celebrities who participate get exposure too. You'll notice the trend that most of the celebs who participate in BB have either been absent from TV for sometime or were involved in some controversy. So, BB becomes a platform for them to do damage control and "clean up" their image since they'll get to show ppl their "real" persona.
In addition to all this, all participants get paid a certain amount per week (its around Rs 1 lac as I've heard from someone here). So, they are getting money like they'd when they do their usual work, getting more fame/popularity and are running to win even more money (ie. the prize money for the winner).

Its not such a bad deal after all ..you just need to have a strong mind and will to stay long in the game.

That depends on how you define success..

For most of ordinary people like us, having a nation of 1 billion people watch us daily for 3 months would be height of success. I mean we feel happy and successful if we get promotion at work though nobody outside our friends or family circle cares..while here you have millions of people watching and discussing them.

And why should acting in soaps regularly be considered success? Most of the soaps are terrible and its a torture just watching them. I would rather have money and invest it in some business then have to act in them and smile like morons during family function scenes and be forced to say stupid, cliched dialogues a million times. Its insane what these actors have to undergo everyday on the sets. I wonder how they manage to keep a straight face while doing the stupid stuff. I'm sure at least the intelligent actors who know how to handle money properly would prefer money to acting in them..
