A personal ritual.
On Christmas, I express five "gratitudes" from the past year, and on New Year's Day, I express five "intentions" for the year ahead.
This is my Christmas Gratitude List to the collective Sisterhood:
1. Thank you for reading.
We have access to so much quality art, film and writing (much of it free!)---that you took the time to access my work is a gift to me.
2. Thank you for reaching out in a personal way.
I feel you are truly Sisters, and have no doubt that someday some of us will be fortunate enough to meet. My kettle is on and my door is open!
3. Thank you for being open.
Most of you know that I'm not interested in reality. I hold ideals which I fashion into a desirable picture---that is my only skill!---and I appreciate that those who continue to read my work, understand that my work is only that, no more, no less.
4. Thank you for being open (Part 2).
Thank you for allowing me to "interrupt" your reading with my style interests. Styling is my passion and it leaks into everything.
5. Thank you for appreciating. Many write to acknowledge the time it takes to create an episode. Though creating and sharing is a pure labour of love, those emails of appreciation---sigh!---they do feel good.
Happy Christmas, Sisters, and thank you for filling my tree with so many gifts!
With love and affection,
maya hill
