Chapter 4 '
Now Siddhi was determined to fight for that employee. She didn't care who was with her and who against, she knew she is right and that's all that mattered to her. She asked Anand to join but he again tried to explain her she is making a big mistake. Regardless of what anyone said, Siddhi still put forth what she thought in front of the legal head and even all of the executives. Obviously they didn't like what Siddhi had to say. With-in a week they found some stupid reason to fire Siddhi. That only made her work as now she can file a case directly against the corporation from employee's side.
But Siddhi couldn't do this alone. She had no real experience so to speak. Whatever she learned about court proceedings was from her internship at a top law firm, neither she had any resources to fight the case as her reference books were not enough. Somehow she came to know of this small law-firm that was hiring. Being one of the top graduates, getting employment was not hard for her. She informed owner Rajesh Khanna about her case and what she has so far. He didn't mind but told Siddhi they have limited resources so if she can work with-in that, he was fine with it. So now to Siddhi everything was set.
Soon Siddhi began preparation for her case. She was assigned a desk in the corner. There was another desk next to it and a big window. She heard others talk now the akdoo has a company who also happens to be somewhat eccentric like him. Siddhi didn't understand what that meant so she had asked the peon about it. She came to learn that desk belonged to legal consultant of the firm. All he said is the legal consultant can't really be described in the words. Everyone had different opinion about him; almost all were scared of him, even the boss; very few people admired him. So better she decides for herself. Siddhi didn't pay much attention to that as she was more concerned with her case.
Since case was about bonded labour, it was accepted without much problem. After 2 weeks, the first hearing to be heard at Bandra Court. Siddhi was of course alone from her law-firm. She had heard the corporation had hired some big name, just didn't know who? Siddhi was waiting outside the court; Anand approached her, "Siddhi." Siddhi looked at him and gave a smile as that's what she does.
Anand, "Siddhi there is still time. Once you know who the attorney is, you will not want to go ahead with this. There is still a way out."
Siddhi, "Well whatever it be, now I am in it so that's that. Nothing can stop me now."
Anand shook his head thinking she's like my brother. Before Anand can say more, he was called by his boss. The call for their case was made. Siddhi too went inside along with her client. To her shock, opposing attorney was Richa Thakral, quite famous for her mean demeanor and partner in top law firm Thakral & Associates, headed by her father. Siddhi was aware Thakrals' ways of dealing as she was intern at the firm past summer. Obviously she got extremely nervous and that played out during hearing. Richa was very much aggressive in her approach and tear apart Siddhi's prime witness. There was no doubt Siddhi's case went down the drain. Judge sure gave the next date, but most likely that would be final hearing and verdict would be in favor of the corporation.
Siddhi walked out of the court room feeling very much dejected. Never she thought the very first hearing of her very first case would go this way. She couldn't even say a word to her client. Anand said something to her but she didn't hear anything. Feeling very much depressed she went to her office, told her boss what took place. Her boss was somewhat sympathetic and in a way expected such thing to happen. Siddhi went to her desk and crashed on the chair. She had no energy left, no enthusiasm, just blank. She looked at the empty desk next to her, but more importantly the window. Whenever she felt down, she preferred to capture nature. Being in the middle of the city, there wasn't much nature but still she can stare at the blue sky. Automatically she went by the window and stood there for whatever time. She wasn't bothered with what was taking place in the office, not bothered to talk to anyone; just let the mind go where it wishes to. She was done doing anything for the day as no point.

It is 2nd Saturday of the month. Usually it is day off for everyone at the office. Anyone who wishes to come was more than invited but unless someone must finish important work, no one bothered to come. Siddhi sure felt she needed to put more effort in her case. As no one was helping her, she decided to check out few more references. Given no one would be at the office, Siddhi felt it would be ideal for her to go to read as much as possible. Siddhi reached the office at 9:30 am. As expected only peon was there. She asked him to get her a cup of coffee. Siddhi went straight towards the shelf to take out legal Encyclopedia for Labour Laws in India. She took the heavy book to her desk and started browsing for anything helpful. With-in few minutes, she heard knock on the door. Obviously she was stunned to hear that. She looked up to see without realizing, she had actually shut the door behind her. She figured it must be peon with her coffee so she ran to open the door.
When she open the door she saw a man in his mid-thirties, unshaven face wearing blue jeans, black shirt untucked with sleeves up and chappals. Siddhi was very much surprised to see this man as he was no other than Kunal. Kunal too was not sure what this girl he bumped at the college and some other time he can't remember was doing here? Slight irritation was very much visible on his face but then like everything in his life, he can care less. So again he said "move" and simply walked in the office. But too bad, he couldn't take more than two steps as something from back was holding him. He turned back to see this little lady had grabbed his wrist quite tight, holding him where she wished to be. His irritation increased bit more as he took his steps back, now exactly face to face with Siddhi.
