Right now I am writing to you with great constraint on my part. If I give into my emotions, God knows what I will end up writing here. Show Parichay started out with great concept, close to real life characters and potential to reach top of the chart; a real trend setter.

But what provided charm to the show is most beautiful love story SINAL. We witnessed proper progression of the story line and relationship. All of us loyal
fans remember each and every scene of SINAL by heart. We witnessed story progress in such beautiful flow with simple, subtle yet powerful gestures such as tissue, tea and Kunal saying "ek to aurat upar se Vakil". They are essential part of story line and also important part of our lives.

But what we witnessed in past 5 months was absolutely brutal. Leap, separation, lies and all the MUs were nothing but forced upon. Both characters were mutilated in ways that made us question are these same people whom we saw last year, are they same people we love and respect? Yet we tolerated it all with your promise that SINAL will be united soon. With that hope we sit in front of our tv every day. But instead we received biggest shock of our life this Monday. How easily a woman agrees to marry someone else in name of sacrifice and drama. It was nothing but an insult to women, our values and institution of marriage. This took place once NIVEDITA BASU took over as "creative head". 

We again say never ever would SINAL do what they've done in past 5 months but latest track just crossed all limits. Do you realize what you have done? It is not just business. These characters are important part of our lives now. We laugh with them, we cry
with them, we celebrate with them, we take their actions very seriously. We watch this show with our families with kids and grandparents. It wasn't just Siddhi who sold Kunal 9 years ago or now got married and follows Diwan's instruction like a puppet. No we see ourselves, our sisters, mothers and wives there. It is not just Kunal who left his wife in jail for no good reason, lied about being married, believed vamp, walks sad-dejected on road, being thrown out, rejected and hurt by his love or crying; again we see ourselves, our brothers, fathers and husbands there.

Makers need to realize how powerful thier work has been. These are not mere characters or just any other love story. No SINAL as couple and individual characters have grown more than that. In an interview Ekat Kappor said today's characters are superficial. Well you hold that power. Kunal was a character larger than life and SINAL larger than life couple.
But makers are the one who have mauled and tainted them. Please respect your own work, appreciate the praise you receive through your work and do take note of the viewers.

What we ask for is redeem both of the characters. We want strong Kunal who takes charge of the situation, protects his wife and kids and seeks proper revenge from Thakrals and Diwans. Siddhi can be completely honest to Kunal and supports him in his every step. This clueless hero and great female is simply insulting us. We feel offended and
ashamed to see what is taking place at the moment.

Again we ask you to take appropriate steps to set things right. Our voices have been ignored by channel and the production house. We are tired of witnessing negativity dominating with insult to our cultures and values. All we want is couple to reunite as how ti was suppose to be and set forth a proper example of leads of a Marilyn show. We hope you guys will not just ignore our concern, voice of "middle-class" people of India. 

We are ardent fan of show "Parichay" that air on Colors Channel at 10:30pm Mon-Fri.  Reason for success of the show has been impeccable character of Kunal Chopra the male lead and damn good couple "Kunal-Siddhi (SINAL)". 

But we witnessed absolutely mutilation of both leads in past 5 months.  We saw Siddhi striking a deal with vamp Richa that she will leave her husband for her in return of his release from jail.  She also goes on to call her husband a murderer in open court and hurts him later by lying to him. Now Kunal in return leaves his pregnant wife in jail and believes vamp Richa that his wife tries to kill their new born baby.  After leap we witnessed one hell of a roller coaster ride with more Misunderstandings, lies, pretense and accusations from both leads.  There was really no explanation for any of it.  It was forced upon to us and we endured through it all.  Both lead characters had lost their original essence but we still remained hopeful due to their promise of reunion of husband-wife.

But what do we witness again?  When Kunal goes to take Siddhi back home, he sees she is marrying someone else?  Upon questioning she again lies to him?  Why, of course due to some compulsion.  She breaks his son's dreams and once again shatters her husband into million pieces.

Sorry is that what we have to accept?  Wasn't it enough we endured through enough insult to marital relationship and mockery of our festivals, now they take it to next level?

Our values and cultures have been mutilated and our sentiments ignored.  This is not just a daily soap; it is a medium that sends strong message.  What message are these people sending?  Female are supposed to be weak who on the name of "sacrifice" will do whatever, be it marry any random guy and antagonize her husband for it?  What is next, sleeping with this guy?  And men are only good for nothing testosterone pumping creatures not able to protect their family?  Next from him would be taking revenge from his wife for hurting him?

The show was promised to be a male centric show.  But what we have so far is a fallen hero who keeps going down more and more.  All he had done is impregnate his wife.  Other than that he has been a drunkard wastrel for over a decade, a prop who gets easily manipulated by vamp and everyone around him and will run to bar at drop of a hat.  That is our hero?  We expect him to fight for his wife, clear her name from false murder and unite his family.  On the other hand we want female lead to be communicative to her husband, trust and respect him enough to confide in him.  We wish to see a normal couple facing ups and downs of life together.

When we look at Kunal-Siddhi; they are not simply characters.  We see ourselves, our husband-wife, brother-sisters and even father-mothers in them.  This is not our idea of how leads of a show for "middle-class family" are supposed to be.  

The show comes from Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms.  Her creative head Nivedita Basu is the one who makes all the decisions.  So because it comes from BT, are we supposed to take it?  We only have two choices that either stop watching or continue witnessing cheapness of culture and constant mutilation of our favorite characters, not to mention get hurt by false promises?

We cannot ask to get our original characters and couple back?  We can't ask for Siddhi ' simple, straight forward girl who she used to be, always standing by her husband supporting him at every point?  We can't ask for Kunal ' strong individual he was, always truthful, principled individual unwilling to compromise at any point with his no nonsense attitude.  Man who refused to submit to any wrong doings, fought for right, always protected his wife against all odds? We can't ask for beautiful couple SINAL ' who defined pure love and always upheld sanctity of marriage and stood by each other no matter what?

Because we are "real middle-class" people, we must just take it??
