Palekar: English outing

Filmmaker Amol Palekar is planning to get back to contemporary cinema after three epic films- Dhyaasparva, Anaahat and Paheli. However, he will be exploring new frontiers with his first English film, Quest. The director's earlier films have always been in Marathi or Hindi. To be precise, Quest is a bilingual called Thaang in Marathi. Mrinal Kulkarni, Rishi Deshpande, Shishir Sharma and Vijaya Mehta star in lead roles. While Palekar's wife, Sandhya Gokhale, has written the story, screenplay and the dialogues of the film, the cinematography is done by Debu Deodhar. Quest has already been chosen by several foreign film festivals for to its screenplay, performances and direction. The film will be premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in Australia on 6th July and is scheduled for an August release in India.
