||I Killed Us||
ONE CONFESSION CHANGED EVERYTHING
She's in a coma. That's pretty much all she knows.
How she got here, why she was in here; those were
questions that she couldn't answer, since she didn't
know. However,Manyta also knew that she was in
the hospital; but that was pretty obvious. But
something strange was going on. Because even though Manyta was in a coma, she could hear
everything going on around her. She could also see
things around her. But it wasn't how you would
normally see things. It's just like she could sense
where things were. Strange, indeed. The door
squeaked open, a man and women walking quietly into the room. Brirjraj and Komal;Manyta's
parents.Komal was holding a tissue, tears sliding
down her cheeks as she looked at her daughter.
"It's okay, Komal," Brijraj said to his wife
soothingly, rubbing her back.
"My poor baby," Komal wailed. "My poor, poor Manyta"
"She'll wake up soon, Komal.Manyta's a strong girl;
she's a fighter," Brijraj says to her.
"Nothing's ever certain, maharaj," her mother says
through her tears.
The two of them stand there in silence, staring at their beloved daughter. There was a pounding of
footsteps, the door slamming against the wall to
reveal a boy. His black hair were a bit messy, dark
circles evident, a wild look in his eyes.
"Did anything happen?!" he exclaims, running up
to her bedside and grabbing her hand in his. "She's the same as she was
yesterday,Udayveer,"Brijraj replies. He puts a hand
on the boy's shoulder. "That's what we tell you
every day." "We can't give up," Uday says fiercely.
"She's going to wake up. I know it. I'm her fiance; I
know her better than she even knows herself. She'll get through this." The couple leaves, but not
before planting a kiss on Manyta's forehead and
whispering goodbye to her in her ear. uday kept
her hand in his, staring at her sleeping face, as if he
was willing her to wake up.
"Manyta," he says fiercely. "C'mon. You can do this. You can't die. Think about your parents, your
friends; think about me. What are we going to do
without you? Maybe I should haven't betryed
u.Maybe I just come to that party with you. Then
maybe you wouldn't have gotten hit by that drunk
driver. Maybe you would have been here, alive and healthy, still smiling and laughing… And then
maybe-"
He cuts off, unsure of whether or not she could
actually hear him. He squeezes her hand, hoping
for some sort of reaction, even a small one, but
none came. Tears flood his vision, some escaping and sliding down his face as he stared at his her;
because he couldn't think of a world without her.
Her beautiful smile, her tinkling laughter, her
sparkling eyes. Because what everyone didn't
know was that she wasn't just his fiance; she was
the girl he was in love with. "Maybe I actually could have gained some
confidence and told you to forgive me n that I'm
still in love with you," he whispers. He put his
forehead on the side of her bed and cried his heart
out; because deep down, in a small section of his
brain, he was doubting her. He was doubting that she would have the energy that she would live. He
was thinking she would die. While he was crying,
he almost didn't feel her leg twitch; he almost didn't
feel her hand gently squeeze his. But most of all, he
almost didn't hear her soft voice call out,
"Uday?" His head shot up, and his eyes widened when he saw she looking at him with her sparkling
eyes, a look of confusion over her face.
"Manyta!" he exclaims, jumping up and hugging
her.
Suddenly, the heart monitor started beating rapidly,
and Manyta pulled away, wondering why. Because no one knew that Manyta was still in love with him
too.
"Yeah, uh, I heard you,"Manyta explains, blushing.
"When I was unconscious, I still heard you." She
looks up at him to see his reaction, only to find his
face inches away from hers. She leaned forward a bit, wanting oh-so-badly to kiss him, but didn't
want to break the tension. And he leaned forward
too, touching his lips to hers, and making the heart
monitor start beeping like crazy.
Nurses and the doctor came scrambling in, only to
find the unconscious girl and the worried fiance kissing. And it only took one confession to change
everything.
