I don't think origins have anything to do with the awards. If that's the case.. actors like Boman Irani, Smriti Irani might have never won any awards. Awards are presented based on their performances & popularity.

the ITA awards happened 4months ago and Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani won the best jodi award. the awards are just being aired late.

it was due to TRP ratings. DABH has been the TRP topper for a way long & on top of that, IPK wasn't nominated in this category either.
