Supermodel Cindy Crawford has had three moles removed because she is scared of getting skin cancer. One time sun lover Cindy, 40, still has a distinctive mole on her face.

But she has had three others removed - two on her back and one on her stomach. The cover girl, once wed to Hollywood star Richard Gere, is now a spokeswoman for skin cancer awareness. She warned that smaller skin blemishes are the most at risk from cancer. She said: "The mole on my face isn't the type that's dangerous, but I have others and I get checked every year. The three I had removed, looked like a collection of almost flat, tiny spots."
