Am I being hard on Rashi? Should I not blame her for lying to her family even after knowing that she is not pregnant?
Putting aside the fact that she wanted to be pregnant for getting pampered and not work, is she right even if she thinks that she has to hide the fact as she cannot see her family in pain? (ok, I was kidding there. 😉Just wanted to see how that will sound if it comes from Rashi. Not going to happen😕.)
So assuming that Rashi hides her results because she is afraid to hurt her husband and MIL, is she still right? Most problems occur due to this unknown fear for the reaction from others. Lying out of kindness is still lying and there is no getting over the fact that it leads to further complications
Lets take the scenario where Rashi tells the truth now to the family members. I am sure it will cause some sadness. Hetal and the rest of the family, Jigar, were all so happy today. Everyone was glowing. As Baa said, Rashi's pregancy brought a big change in the Modi house. They were extremely happy at the development. But if Rashi now comes out and informs that she is not pregnant, the Modis will accept it as a fact. Sense will prevail. Baa will give some sensible proverb and Rashi will be pampered for having to go through the false hopes. (if that is what she cares about). Their expectations and hopes will still be alive for Rashi to get pregnant someday.
However if Rashi does not break the truth now, she is setting up all for a big fall, especially Jigar. The man who she blamed for not getting pregnant, was loving and sporting enough to get tests done with no drama.😭 I think he would be the one who is most happy at the news. If she decides to go ahead with a charade, he will be the one shattered when the truth comes out. Think about him. He has already started dreaming. When dreams die, bitterness sets in. It is very difficult to get over the fact that he was lied to about the pregancy, whatever the reason. Will Rashi and Jigar have the same happiness when she actually falls pregnant? It will become impossible to believe her word if she goes ahead.
There is nothing like a good lie. There can be lies that go unnoticed, lies that do not cause distress, lies that cause distress later, lies that can be fixed with time and there are those lies that will remain to pluck and pinch your heart everytime. I think this one falls under the last category.
Rashi should learn from Gopi's experience. Koki hiding the truth of Gopi's illiteracy made Gopi suffer for almost 2 years. Her lie will be worse because unlike Gopi, Rashi will be the one who is lying. Please Rashi, do not do it.
